Int.oduct.on: Pest.cides are current.y an essent.al component.of agricult.ral product.on t.chniques for cont.olling pest. and weeds. In Burkina Faso, non-compliance wit. good pract.ce in t.e use of pest.cides poses a real healt. problem for t.e populat.on. t.is st.dy examines t.e healt. risks associat.d wit. pest.cide management.in rice-growing areas. Mat.rial and Met.ods: A field survey was conduct.d in Bama, involving farmers, focusing on t.eir socio-demographic charact.rist.cs, pest.cide usage, and healt. effect.. Cholinest.rase levels were measured in subsample of farmers using a port.ble device. Dat. were analysed using Microsoft.Excel, calculat.ng means and percent.ges for various pract.ces. Healt. consult.t.ons, prot.ct.on met.ods, and pest.cide management.were st.died. Eryt.rocyt. acet.lcholinest.rase act.vit. was compared before and aft.r t.eat.ent. Dat. were cat.gorised int. classes based on inhibit.on levels, and correlat.on analyses det.rmined relat.onships bet.een variables such as age, years of experience, and cholinest.rase act.vit.. Result.: t.e result. indicat. t.at.rice cult.vat.on is mainly carried out.by a fairly young populat.on, wit. nearly 63% being under t.e age of 50. Common poor pract.ces in pest.cide use include improper st.rage and reuse of left.ver pest.cides. Seven t.pes of pest.cides were ident.fied, including organophosphat.s such as glyphosat., which was used in 26.7% of cases. t.is organophosphat. has result.d in class B poisoning, causing a 30% - 50% reduct.on in eryt.rocyt. cholinest.rase act.vit.. t.e healt. effect. of pest.cide use are felt.by agricult.ral farmers t.rough various sympt.ms of poisoning. Conclusion: t. reduce t.e occurrence of pest.cide poisoning, it.is essent.al t. launch informat.on and awareness campaigns among t.e populat.on and farmers t. promot. safe pract.ces in pest.cide use in Bama, Burkina Faso.

t.e use of carbon dioxide as a working fluid has been t.e subject.of ext.nsive st.dies in recent.years, part.cularly in t.e field of refrigerat.on where it.is at.t.e heart.of research t. replace CFC and HCFC. It. t.ermodynamic propert.es make it.a fluid of choice in t.e efficient.use of energy at.low and medium t.mperat.res in engine cycles. However, t.e performance of t.anscrit.cal CO2 cycles weakens under high t.mperat.re and pressure condit.ons, especially in refrigerat.on syst.ms;On t.e ot.er hand, t.is disadvant.ge becomes rat.er int.rest.ng in engine cycles where CO2 can be used as an alt.rnat.ve t. t.e organic working fluid in small and medium-sized elect.ical syst.ms for low qualit. or wast. heat.sources. In order t. improve t.e performance of syst.ms operat.ng wit. CO2 in t.e field of refrigerat.on and elect.icit. product.on, research has made it.possible t. develop several concept., of which t.is art.cle deals wit. a review of t.e st.t. of t.e art. followed by analyzes in-dept. and crit.cal of t.e various development. t. t.e most.recent.modificat.ons in t.ese fields. Background: An Int.aut.rine device (IUD) is a long-act.ng reversible cont.acept.ve commonly used in clinical pract.ce. It. insert.on in t.e ut.rus is simple and safe. But.somet.mes, complicat.ons can occur. Case Report. Herein, we report.a case of successful laparoscopic removal of a missing IUD Copper-t. mis-insert.d in a 32-year-old woman, 4 mont.s aft.r she delivered by caesarian sect.on, and present.d persist.nt.lower abdominal pain last.ng 6 mont.s. Ut.rine ult.asound was unremarkable, but.a plain abdominopelvic X-ray confirmed t.e presence of t.e Copper-t.inside t.e abdominal cavit.. Conclusion: Insert.on of IUD is simple and safe. When t.e diagnosis of ut.rine perforat.on following it. insert.on is clinically suspect.d and radiologically confirmed, laparoscopy, when available, remains one of t.e best.opt.ons for removal.

Dyslipidemia is a disorder where abnormally lipid concent.at.ons circulat. in t.e bloodst.eam. t.e disorder is common in t.pe 2 diabet.cs (t.D) and is linked wit. t.D comorbidit.es, part.cularly cardiovascular disease. Dyslipidemia in t.D is t.pically charact.rized by elevat.d plasma t.iglyceride and low high-densit. lipoprot.in cholest.rol (HDL-C) levels. t.ere is a significant.gap in t.e lit.rat.re regarding dyslipidemia in rural part. of Africa, where lipid profiles may not.be capt.red t.rough rout.ne surveillance. t.is st.dy aimed t. charact.rize t.e prevalence and demo-graphic profile of dyslipidemia in t.D in t.e rural communit. of Ganadougou, Mali. We performed a cross-sect.onal st.dy of 104 subject. wit. t.D in Ganadougou bet.een November 2021 and March 2022. Demographic and lipid profiles were collect.d t.rough cross-sect.onal surveys and serological analyses. t.e overall prevalence of dyslipidemia in t.D pat.ent. was 87.5% (91/104), which did not.differ by sex (P = .368). High low-densit. lipoprot.in cholest.rol (LDL-C) was t.e most.common lipid abnormalit. (78.9%, [82/104]). Dyslipidemia was associat.d wit. age and hypert.nsion st.t.s (P = .013 and.036, respect.vely). High t.t.l and high LDL-C paramet.rs were significant.y associat.d wit. hypert.nsion (P = .029 and .006, respect.vely). In low-resource set.ings such as rural Mali, t.ere is a crit.cal need t. improve infrast.uct.re for rout.ne dyslipidemia screening t. guide it. prevent.on and int.rvent.on approaches. t.e high rat.s of dyslipidemia observed in Gandadougou, consist.nt.wit. concomit.nt.increases in cardiovascular diseases in Africa suggest.t.at.lipid profile assessment. should be incorporat.d int. rout.ne medical care for t.D pat.ent. in African rural set.ings.

Gomphrena serrat. L. (Amarant.aceae) is a medicinal plant.widely used t.adit.onally in rural areas t. t.eat.many diseases, including gast.oint.st.nal helmint.iasis of small ruminant.. t.is work aims t. est.mat. t.e plant.ext.act. phyt.chemical pot.nt.al and st.dy t.e act.vit.es of t.e aqueous decoct.on (GS_AD), aqueous macerat. (GS_AM), and hydroalcoholic macerat. (GS_HEM) of Gomphrena serrat. ext.act. on t.o development.l st.ges (eggs and adult.worms) of Haemonchus cont.rt.s. Phyt.chemical screening was carried out. t.e acut. t.xicit. t.st.was performed according t. t.e Organisat.on for Economic Co-operat.on and Development.(OECD) t.st.guideline 423. t.e Haemonchus cont.rt.s eggs hat.hing inhibit.on t.st.was performed left.t. incubat. for 48 hours in t.e presence of t.e different.plant.ext.act. at.increasing concent.at.ons of 0.125;0.25;0.5;0.625;1;2;3 mg/mL. For t.e mot.lit. inhibit.on t.st.on adult.worms, t.e worms were cont.ct.d wit. t.e ext.act. at.concent.at.ons of 0.75;1;1.25;1.5;2;3;4 mg/mL and left.t. incubat. for 24 hours. Albendazole and levamisole were used as st.ndard. Phyt.chemical screening revealed t.e presence of t.nnins, saponins, reducing compounds, coumarins and derivat.ves, ant.ocyanins, st.roids, t.it.rpenes, and flavonoids. An acut. t.xicit. st.dy showed t.at.t.e oral LD50 value of G. serrat. was est.mat.d t. be 5000 mg/kg. All ext.act. showed an effect.on bot. st.ges of parasit. development. t.e hat.hing inhibit.on rat. was 100% from 3 mg/mL for all t.ree ext.act.. t.e rat. of inhibit.on of mot.lit. was 100% from 4 mg/mL for each ext.act. HEM is more efficient.on eggs and Haemonchus cont.rt.s adult.worms t.an ot.er ext.act. wit. IC50 of 0.457 mg/mL and LC50 of 1.329 mg/mL, respect.vely. t.ese result. suggest.t.at.Gomphrena serrat., a plant.used by farmers, has ant.elmint.c propert.es.

Sex development.anomalies represent.a group of congenit.l pat.ologies in which chromosomal, gonadal and anat.mical sex different.at.on is at.pical. t.e aim of our st.dy was t. use molecular biology t.chniques t. elucidat. sex in cases of anomalies of sexual different.at.on in Burkina Faso. t.is cross-sect.onal st.dy t.ok place from March 2023 t. June 2023. Oral and blood samples were collect.d respect.vely using st.rile swabs and st.red on Swab Kit. and NUCLEIcardt. (ht.ps://***/product.ranges/nucleic-card/) were used t. det.rmine gonosome profiles. Ext.act.on was carried out.using t.e DNA Swap solut.on Kit.and t.e DNA IQ Syst.m Kit. and a PowerPlex? 21 kit.(Promega) for amplificat.on. t.e Applied Biosyst.ms 9700 t.ermal cycler was used for PCR followed by 36 cm capillary elect.ophoresis in t.e Applied Biosyst.ms 3130 prism sequencer. Sequence files were analyzed using GeneMapper IDX v. 3.2 soft.are. Seven (07) pat.ent. were regist.red during t.e st.dy period. t.ere were 4 cases of XX DSD or 46, XX DSD and 3 cases of XY DSD or 46, XY DSD. t.e median age of our pat.ent. was 16 years. Civilian sex was male in 4 cases and female in 3. t.e most.frequent.reason for consult.t.on was micropenis in 3 cases, followed by primary amenorrhea and sex ambiguit.. t.ere were 03 cases of discrepancy bet.een genet.c sex and civil sex. t.e accessibilit. of molecular diagnosis is lit.le known t. clinicians. XX DSDs or 46, XX DSDs were t.e most.frequent.(4/7) in our st.dy. t.e problem facing t.is sit.at.on is early diagnosis t. help prevent.complicat.ons in Burkina Faso.

t.e ant.ret.oviral t.eat.ent.(ARt. has significant.y reduced t.e number of new HIV/AIDS infect.ons and relat.d deat.s. However, cases of immunovirological discordance (IVD) are found in various locat.ons. t.e object.ve of t.is st.dy was t. det.rmine t.e profile of People living wit. HIV (PLHIV) wit. IVD and t. ident.fy associat.d fact.rs. We conduct.d a cross-sect.onal st.dy based on t.e records of PLHIV under ARt.for at.least.6 mont.s, followed at.Hpit.l de Jour Donka from 2015 t. 2017, and having bot. viral load (CV) and CD4 t.cell count. Prevalence of IVD was 34.57%, wit. 23.87% for immunological discordance (ID) and 10.7% for virological discordance (VD). Females were predominant.(66.26%), and male gender influenced IVD wit. a st.t.st.cally significant.difference (p = 0.006) and was associat.d wit. VD (p = 0.007). t.e average age was 38.77 11.30 years. PLHIV were classified at.WHO st.ges 3 and 4 (86.01%). t.e median init.al haemoglobin level was 11.5 g/L [3.2 - 12]. t.e mean init.al CD4 t.cell count.was 272.84 cells/mm3 201.6. t.e median init.al viral load (VL) was 147,337 copies/mL [1092 - 31,675,000]. t.e init.al CD4 t.cell count.3 was associat.d wit. IVD wit. a st.t.st.cally significant.difference (p = 0.0009) and correlat.d wit. ID (p = 0.000). Prurigo was associat.d wit. IVD wit. a st.t.st.cally significant.difference (p = 0.003). Cerebral t.xoplasmosis was not.associat.d wit. IVD but.was associat.d wit. ID (p = 0.04). t.is st.dy allowed us t. describe t.e profile of PLHIV wit. IVD. t.e main associat.d fact.rs were male gender, init.al CD4 t.cell count.3, t.xoplasmosis, prurigo, and herpes zost.r.

PURPOSE: Our aim was t. present.t.e diagnost.c and t.erapeut.c aspect. of urological emergencies in a regional hospit.l. MAt.RIAL AND MEt.ODS: We conduct.d a prospect.ve st.dy over a period of 6 mont.s (April 2021 t. Sept.mber 2021) collect.ng all t.e emergencies received by t.e on-call urology t.am at.t.e Nianankoro Fomba Hospit.l in Segou. t.is t.am was led by a DES in urology under t.e supervision of a urological surgeon. We were int.rest.d in age, sex of pat.ent., diagnosis, number of pat.ent. hospit.lised and t.pe of surgery performed in emergency. RESULt.: We regist.red 72 pat.ent.. t.e mean age of our pat.ent. was 58.8 years wit. ext.emes of 6 and 90 years. Acut. bladder ret.nt.on was represent.d in 61% and t.t.l haemat.ria in 24%. Renal colic was report.d in 8%. Acut. prost.t.t.s was report.d in 4% of cases, and acut. pyelonephrit.s in 1%. Urogenit.l t.auma account.d for 6%. CONCLUSION: Alt.ough underest.mat.d, in our cont.xt. t.e management.of urological emergencies remains a regular act.vit. of t.e urology depart.ent.in view of t.e number of pat.ent. managed. Bladder drainage remains t.e most.frequent.procedure.

Purpose: The objectives of this work were to study and determine the frequency of benign goitre in the general surgery department of CHU Gabriel Touré, and to study epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic aspects. Patients and Method: This was a retrospective and prospective study conducted in the general surgery department of CHU Gabriel Touré, from January 1999 to December 2019. Included in the study were all patients with benign goiter confirmed in histology, hospitalized and treated in the service. Patients with thyroid malignant tumours, strumite, thyroid tract cyst, cervical abscess and neck trauma were not retained. Socio-demographic, clinical, para-clinical, therapeutic and post-operative aspects were the study parameters. Word processing and tables were done with Microsoft Word and Excel 2016 software. Data analysis was performed with Epi info7 software, the statistical test used was the Khi2 test and a value of P 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Int.oduct.on: St.mach cancer is a malignant.t.mor developed at.t.e expense of t.e gast.ic wall. Gast.ic cancer is a common cancer occupying t.e 5t. rank of cancers in t.e world, or 5.7% of all cancers. Purpose: t. st.dy epidemiological, diagnost.c, t.erapeut.c, and prognost.c aspect. of st.mach cancer. Met.odology: t.is was a ret.ospect.ve and prospect.ve st.dy, which was carried out.in t.e General Surgery Depart.ent.at.t.e t.aching hospit.l Gabriel t.uré bet.een January 1, 1999, and December 31, 2020, and all cases of st.mach cancer were confirmed by hist.logical examinat.on. Result. We recorded 857 cases of st.mach cancer or 40.1% of digest.ve cancers. t.e sex rat.o was 1.6. t.e average age was 55 years ± 13 years. t.e main clinical signs were epigast.algia (98.6%), vomit.ng (93.34%), weight.loss (96.03%), and anorexia (46.1%). It.was adenocarcinoma (97.55%), and ant.opyloric locat.on (78.64%). Pat.ent. were St.ge IV (72.817%) cases. Among t.e 857 pat.ent., 722 were operat.d on, account.ng for 84.25% of t.e cases. Surgery was palliat.ve in 60.66% and curat.ve in 25.62%. Gast.ect.my of 4/5 plus D2 t.pe curage was t.e most.performed in curat.ve surgery. t.e median overall post.perat.ve survival was 5 mont.s. Conclusion: St.mach cancer is t.e most.common digest.ve cancer in our depart.ent. t.e diagnosis is most.oft.n lat., so palliat.ve surgery occupies an import.nt.place.
