The aim of the study was to evaluate the drought tolerance,agro-morphological characteristics and yield of 10 rice varieties collected from different *** experiment one,drought tolerance of rice varieties under artificial drought condition in the greenhouse was assessed through root and leaf *** experiment two,the growth and yield of rice varieties in the rainfed rice field was *** results showed that drought has affected the root characteristics,leaf rolling and leaf drying of these *** rainfed rice field of Thua thien Hue and Quang Nam province,summer-autumn 2016 and winter-spring 2016-2017 crop season,these rice varieties grew and developed *** growth time was 90-119 d in summer-autumn crop season,while in winter-spring crop season was 107-131 *** yield of these rice varieties ranged from 37.02 quintals/ha to 56.33 quintals/ha and from 42.33 quintals/ha to 66.60 quintals/ha,*** rice varieties with high yields in both two crop seasons were OM4900,GSR38,IR93340 and *** is sugessted to conduct production experiment on a large area in rainfed field for these four varieties to evaluate them objectively and early put them into structure of rice varieties in Central Vietnam.

In image processing, one of the most important steps is image segmentation. The objects in remote sensing images often have to be detected in order toperform next steps in image processing. Remote sensing images usually havelarge size and various spatial resolutions. Thus, detecting objects in remote sensing images is very complicated. In this paper, we develop a model to detectobjects in remote sensing images based on the combination of picture fuzzy clustering and MapReduce method (denoted as MPFC). Firstly, picture fuzzy clustering is applied to segment the input images. Then, MapReduce is used to reducethe runtime with the guarantee of quality. To convert data for MapReduce processing, two new procedures are introduced, including Map_PFC and Reduce_*** formal representation and details of two these procedures are presented in thispaper. The experiments on satellite image and remote sensing image datasets aregiven to evaluate proposed model. Validity indices and time consuming are usedto compare proposed model to picture fuzzy clustering model. The values ofvalidity indices show that picture fuzzy clustering integrated to MapReduce getsbetter quality of segmentation than using picture fuzzy clustering only. Moreover,on two selected image datasets, the run time of MPFC model is much less thanthat of picture fuzzy clustering.

Sodium variability is associated with increased mortality in severe burn injury

Background:Dysnatremias are associated with increased mortality in critically ill patients. Hypernatremia in burn patients is also associated with poor survival. Based on these findings, we hypothesized that high plasma sodium variability is a marker for increased mortality in severely burn-injured patients. Methods:We performed a retrospective review of adult burn patients with a burn injury of 15%total body surface area (TBSA) or greater from 2010 to 2014. All patients included in the study had at least three serum sodium levels checked during admission. We used multivariate logistic regression analysis to determine if hypernatremia, hyponatremia, or sodium variability independently increased the odds ratio (OR) for death. Results:Two hundred twelve patients met entry criteria. Mean age and%TBSA for the study was 45 ± 18 years and 32 ± 19%. Twenty-nine patients died for a mortality rate of 14%. Serum sodium was measured 10,310 times overall. The median number of serum sodium measurements per patient was 22. Non-survivors were older (59 ± 19 vs. 42 ± 16 years) and suffered from a more severe burn injury (50 ± 25%vs. 29 ± 16%TBSA). While mean sodium was significantly higher for non-survivors (138 ± 3 milliequivalents/liter (meq/l)) than for survivors (135 ± 2 meq/l), mean sodium levels remained within the laboratory reference range (135 to 145 meq/l) for both groups. Non-survivors had a significantly higher median number of hypernatremic (>145 meq/l) measurements (2 vs. 0). Coefficient of variation (CV) was significantly higher in non-survivors (2.85 ± 1.1) than survivors (2.0 ± 0.7). Adjusting for TBSA, age, ventilator days, and intensive care unit (ICU) stay, a higher CV of sodium measurements was associated with mortality (OR 5.8 (95%confidence interval (CI) 1.5 to 22)). Additionally, large variation in sodium ranges in the first 10 days of admission may be associated with increased mortality (OR 1.35 (95%CI 1.06 to1.7)). Conclusions:Increased variability in plas

Response surface methodology was used in this research to optimize the technical parameters of the extraction and conversion color compound in armatto seeds into norbixin. Parameters affected the extraction efficiency and norbixin recovery yield were solvent concentration, rate of solvent/seed, incubation time, and incubation temperature. The optimization results including： concentration of ethanol is 51.82°; concentration of NaOH is 0.52 M; ratio of solvent/seed is 7.1/1; incubation time is 33.12 minutes, incubation temperature is 58.6℃, and the rate of 36% HCl/color solution is 0.5/5 （v/v）.

In this paper,we propose an approach to determine seven parameters of the Helmert transfor-mation by transforming the coordinates of a continuous GNSS network from the World Geodetic System 1984(WGS84)to the International Terrestrial Reference *** includes(1)convert-ing the coordinates of common points from the global coordinate system to the local coordinate system,(2)identifying and eliminating outliers by the Dikin estimator,and(3)estimating seven parameters of the Helmert transformation by least squares(LS)estimation with the“clean”data(*** removed).Herein,the local coordinate system provides a platform to separate points’horizontal and vertical ***,the Dikin estimator identifies and eliminates outliers in the horizontal or vertical component *** is significant because common points in a continuous GNSS network may contain *** proposed approach is tested with the Géoazur GNSS network with the results showing that the Dikin estimator detects outliers at 6 out of 18 common points,among which three points are found with outliers in the vertical compo-nent ***,instead of eliminating all coordinate components of these six common points,we only eliminate all coordinate components of three common points and only the vertical component of another three common ***,the classical LS estimation is applied to“clean”data to estimate seven parameters of the Helmert transformation with a significant accuracy *** Dikin estimator’s results are compared to those of other robust estimators of Huber and Theil-sen,which shows that the Dikin estimator performs ***,the weighted total least-squares estimation is implemented to assess the accuracy of the LS estimation with the same *** inter-comparison of the seven estimated parameters and their standard deviations shows a small difference at a few per million levels(E-6).

BACKGROUND: Liver transplantation is so far the most effective therapeutic modality for end-stage liver diseases, but ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury represents a critical barrier to liver transplantation. Primary graft dysfunction and small-for-size syndrome are closely associated with I/R injury. Ischemic preconditioning (IPC) is defined as a brief period of liver ischemia followed by reperfusion, and has demonstrated protections against a prolonged I/R injury and improved the capacity of regeneration. The article aimed to review IPC literatures for the understanding of the effects of IPC on I/R injury involving in the procurement of donor liver and protective mechanisms. DATA SOURCES: A literature search of MEDLINE and Web of Science databases using 'liver transplantation', 'liver regeneration', 'hepatectomy', 'ischemia/reperfusion' and 'ischemic preconditioning' was performed, and then a large amount of related data was collected. RESULTS: The literature search provided a huge amount of evidence for the protective effects of IPC on I/R injury in liver transplantation, including reduction of blood loss in hepatectomy, intraoperative hemodynamic stability and its significant role in liver regeneration. The mechanism involves in balancing inflammatory cytokines, enhancing energy status and mitigating microcirculatory disturbance. CONCLUSION: IPC plays an essential role in hepatectomy before and after harvest of living donor liver and implantation of liver graft.

Aim:To investigate the effect of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma(PPARγ)activation on the growth of rat hepatic stellate cells(HSC)and trans-forming growth factor beta(TGF-β)-induced connective tissue growth factor(CTGF)***:After being treated with various amounts of thePPARγ natural ligand 15-deoxy-A 12,14-prostaglandin J2(15-d-PGJ2)or syntheticligand GW7845,the status of HSC proliferation and apoptosis were detected byMTT assay and flow ***,HSC were treated with PPARγ-specific antagonist GW9662 prior to the addition of 15-d-PGJ2or GW7845 andwere subsequently stimulated with TGF-β*** mRNA and protein levels ofCTGF expression were detected by semi-quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot-ting *** changes in the HSC were observed by ***:15-d-PGJ2and GW7845 markedly inhibited HSC prolifera-tion and induced cell apoptosis in a dose-dependent ***,PPARγligands significantly suppressed TGF-β1-induced CTGF expression(at both tran-scriptional and post-transcriptional levels)in HSC,and the inhibitory effect wasdramatically,if not completely,abolished by pretreatment with GW9662,sug-gesting that the inhibition was indeed mediated by PPARγ.Moreover,morpho-logical observation revealed that PPARγ activation caused obvious changes ofHSC from activated to quiescent ***:The PPARγligand hasa potent inhibitory effect on the growth of HSC and TGF-β1-induced CTGFexpression,which makes it a potential antifibrotic candidate for the treatment andprevention of hepatic fibrosis.
