Urban flooding has impacted siginficantly on people＇s living： economic development, environmental pollution, etc.. it has been the serious problem of many cities in file world, especially in urban areas in developing count.ies because urbanization is too fast but lack of adaptive management planning and infrastructure. in Vietnam, the big cities, such as HCM （Ho Chi Minh） City, Hanoi, etc. have also been influenced severely by floods. By early 2017, HCM City has 171 flooded sites assigned by the dist.ict level; 40 submergence points assigned by Steering Center of Flooding Control Program, and 9 tidal flooded points. the paper will establish a suitable method for assessing flood vulnerability in HCM City from natural, social and environmental aspects. the results of a case study in Dist.ict 6 show that there are four wards with high vulnerability and 10 wards with average vulnerability.

Aim:Lung metastasis is a leading cause of death in patients with osteosarcoma(OS).No effective therapy exists that.improves the five-year overall survival rate of OS patients with ***,finding novel therapeutic targets will help develop new treatment strategies for OS patients with lung ***:Based on analysis of gene expression profiles between sublines of the Dunn OS LM8 cell line with high(LM8-H)and low(LM8-L)metastatic ability,we have identified Wnt signal-related genes that play an important role in lung metastasis of *** of the genes was investigated by establishing sublines of gene knockout and assessing their metastatic ability using a mouse lung metastasis *** molecular mechanism underlying the function of the genes was further investigated by in vitro ***:We have identified that receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 2(ROR2),a receptor of the non-canonical Wnt signaling pathway,was involved in OS cell survival in lung capillaries during ***8-H knocked out of Ror2(H/Ror2-KO)significantly reduced lung metastasis by decreasing the viability in lung capillaries 48 h after intravenous *** vitro study revealed that ROR2 increased anoikis resistance through AKt *** of ROR2 expression in H/Ror2-KO cells restored their metastatic ability and viability in lung ***:the results demonstrate a novel ROR2 function in OS lung metastasis and may inform new treatment strategies for OS patients.

inhibition of 11βHSD1 （11-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 1） is a promising strategy in drug treatment of diabetes. Several 11βHSDi inhibitors have been proposed; however, their selectivity to 11βHSD1 over its isozyme 11βHSD2 （11-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 2） has not been fully reported. the authors sought to provide a short list of top potent and selective compounds along with their det.iled binding modes and pharmacophore models, Molecular docking was used for initial screening of a set of 23 potent.inhibitors reported by previous experimental studies. After that, selected promising ent.ies were reassessed by molecular dynamics simulations, followed by hydrogen bond analysis. Pharmacophore models of all drug candidates and binding modes of some selected drugs were analyzed. Among the 23 compounds, only four inhibitors were identified as potent and selective drug candidates. Binding energies, 3D pharmacophores and binding modes of the four compounds with 11βHSDi are also discussed in det.il in t.is study.

influence of Chitosan Binder on the Adhesion of Silver Nanoparticles on Cotton Fabric and Evaluation of Antibacterial Activity

Colloidal silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with particle size less than 10 nm and concentration of 2 mM/L (~200 mg/L) were synthesized by gamma Co-60 ray irradiation of Ag+/chitosan solutions with different chitosan concentration of 0.5%, 1% and 2% (w/v). incorporation of AgNPs onto cotton fabric was carried out by padding method with 100% wet pick-up. the content of AgNPs deposited on cotton fabric and released from cotton fabric after repeated washing was determined by inductively couple plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy (iCP-AES). the results indicated that cotton/AgNPs fabric made from padding into AgNPs solution with 0.5% - 1% chitosan was the best one of AgNPs adhesion ability on cotton fabric. Results on antibacterial activity against S. aureus showed that cotton/AgNPs fabric with AgNPs content more than 100 mg/kg exhibited highly antibacterial activity (η > 98%). the mechanical property (tensile strength and elongation) of cotton/AgNPs fabrics was almost unchanged in comparison with untreated cotton fabric. thus, the resultant cotton/AgNPs fabric with highly antibacterial activity can be potentially used as bed drapes and/or patient uniforms in hospitals, etc.
