Impact of chosen force fields and applied load on thin film lubrication

The rapid development of molecular dynamics(MD)simulations,as well as classical and reactive atomic potentials,has enabled tribologists to gain new insights into lubrication performance at the fundamenta. ***,the impact of adopted potentials on the rheological properties and tribological performance of hydrocarbons has not been researched *** extensive study analyzed the effects of surface structure,applied load,and force field(FF)on the thin film lubrication of *** lubricant film became more solid‐like as the applied load *** particular,with increasing applied load,there was an increase in the velocity slip,shear viscosity,and *** degree of ordering structure also changed with the applied load but rather *** was also significantly dependent on the surface *** chosen FFs significantly influenced the lubrication performance,rheological properties,and molecular *** adaptive intermolecular reactive empirical bond order(AIREBO)potential resulted in more significant liquid‐like behaviors,and the smallest velocity slip,degree of ordering structure,and shear stress were compared using the optimized potential for liquid simulations of united atoms(OPLS‐UAs),condensed‐phase optimized molecular potential for atomic simulation studies(COMPASS),and ***,classical potentials,such as OPLS‐UA and COMPASS,exhibit more solid‐like behavior than reactive potentials ***,owing to the solid‐like behavior,the lubricant temperatures obta.ned from OPLS‐UA and COMPASS were much lower than those obta.ned from AIREBO and *** increase in shear stress,as well as the decrease in velocity slip with an increase in the surface potential parameterζ,remained conserved for all chosen FFs,thus indicating that the proposed surface potential parameterζfor the COMPASS FF can be verified for a wide range of atomic models.

Advances in haemosta.ic sponges: Characteristics and the underlying mechanisms for rapid haemosta.is

In traumatized patients, the primary cause of morta.ity is uncontrollable continuous bleeding and unexpected intraoperative bleeding which is likely to increase the risk of complications and surgical failure. High expansion sponges are effective clinical practice for the treatment of wound bleeding (irregular/deep/narrow) that are caused by capillaries, veins and even arterioles as they possess a high liquid absorption ratio so can absorb blood platelets easily in comparison with traditional haemosta.is treatments, which involve compression, ligation, or electrical coagulation etc. When in conta.t with blood, haemosta.ic sponges can cause platelet adhesion, aggregation, and thrombosis, preventing blood from flowing out from wounds, triggering the release of coagulation factors, causing the blood to form a sta.le polymerized fibre protein, forming blood clots, and achieving the goal of wound bleeding control. Haemosta.ic sponges are found in a variety of shapes and sizes. The aim of this review is to facilita.e an overview of recent research around haemosta.ic sponge materials, products, and technology. This paper reviews the synthesis, properties, and characteristics of haemosta.ic sponges, together with the haemosta.is mechanisms of haemosta.ic sponges (composite materials), such as chitosan, cellulose, gelatin, sta.ch, graphene oxide, hyaluronic acid, alginate, polyethylene glycol, silk fibroin, synthetic polymers silver nanoparticles, zinc oxide nanoparticles, mesoporous silica nanoparticles, and silica nanoparticles. Also, this paper reviews commercial sponges and their properties. In addition to this, we discuss various in-vitro/in-vivo approaches for the evaluation of the effect of sponges on haemosta.is .

In this study,we reported on the concept and practical use of cation exchange resin(CER)for removing anions in water via pretreating the CER with meta. *** cation exchange resinsupported iron and magnesium oxides/hydroxides composite(FeMg/CER)was synthesized and introduced as a new and potential adsorbent for selective removal of nitrate ion in the water *** of FeMg/CER were determined by techniques such as Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,and Xray *** results showed that FeMg/CER material had a high nitrate adsorption capacity of 200 mg NO_(3)^()·g^(1)with a fast equilibrium adsorption time of 30 min at pH *** addition,it had good durability of at least 10 times of regeneration,which could be applied to practical water and wastewater treatment.

The use of insect meal in aquafeed formulations has recently gained *** knowledge about the inclusion levels for pikeperch(Sander lucioperca),a promising candidate for intensive aquaculture in Europe remains,however,*** the present study,4 isoproteic(45%dry matter)and isoenergetic(21 MJ/kg)diets were formulated,including a control diet(H0)conta.ning 30%fishmeal(FM)on an as-fed basis and the other 3 diets in which FM protein was replaced by defatted black soldier fly(Hemetia illucens)meal(HIM)at 25%,50%,and 100%(diet abbreviation H9,H18 and H36,corresponding to an inclusion level of 9%,18%and 36%,respectively).The feeding trial was performed in triplicate groups of 50 juvenile pikeperch(mean weight,68.7 g)fed with experimenta. diets for 84 d during which the growth performance,nutrient digestibility,fillet quality and economic and environmenta. susta.nability of rearing pikeperch were *** findings indicated that pikeperch in H0,H9,and H18 groups displayed better results regarding growth performance indices,except for survival rate where no significant difference among groups was recorded(P?0.642).A significantly lower organ-somatic index,including hepatosomatic,viscerosomatic and perivisceral fat index,was found in fish in H18 groups than other groups(Pgestibility of the nutrients and resulted in an almost linear reduction in the apparent digestibility coefficient of dry matter and *** the fillet quality,dieta.y HIM negatively affected the protein and ash contents of the fish fillets,while the crude fat remained *** HIM did not significantly modify tota. saturated,monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids in the fillets of fed pikeperch(P>0.05)but did reduce tota. n-3 fatty acids(P?0.001)and increased tota. n-6(Pg inclusion levels of HIM reduced the environmenta. impacts associated with fish in-to-fish out ratio but enta.led heavy burdens on e

Multimodal separation for ultrasonic Lamb wave using independent component analysis in the time-frequency domain

Aiming at facilita.ing Lamb wave signal analysis and mode characterization,an ultrasonic-Lamb wave niultimodal separation method combining short-time Fourier transform(STFT)and independent component analysis(ICA)was *** signals were projected into the time-frequency domain through *** that the energy trajectory of each Lamb mode is indepenclent in the time-frequency domain,ICA method was then applied to separate tlie superposed *** group velocity curve of each mode was extracted according to its time-frequency energy trajectory,based on which the plate thickness can be further *** finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)simulated signals and experimenta. signals for a 1 nmi-thick steel plate were used to validate the performance of the proposed *** three fundainenta. Fluorescence microscopy technology uses fluorescent dyes to provide highly specific visualization of cell components,which plays an importa.t role in understa.ding the subcellular ***,fluorescence microscopy has some limita.ions such as the risk of non-specific cross labeling in multi-labeled fluorescent sta.ning and limited number of fluo-rescence labels due to spectral *** paper proposes a deep learning-based fluorescence to fluorescence[Flu0-Fluo]translation method,which uses a conditional generative adversarial network to predict a fluorescence image from another fluorescence image and further realizes the multi-label fluorescent *** cell types used include human motor neurons,human breast cancer cells,rat cortical neurons,and rat *** effectiveness of the method is verified by successfully generating virtual fluorescence images highly similar to the true fluorescence *** study shows that a deep neural network can implement Fluo-Fluo translation and describe the localization relationship between subcellular structures labeled with different fluorescent *** proposed Fluo-Fluo method can avoid non-specific cross labeling in multi-label fluorescence sta.ning and is free from spectral *** theory,an unlimited number of fluorescence images can be predicted from a single fluorescence image to characterize cells.

Surface Mapping of Resistive Switching CrO_x Thin Films

In this work, we investigated resistive switching behavior of CrOx thin films grown by using sputtering technique. Conventional I-V measurements obta.ned from Ag/CrOx/Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si structures depict the bipolar switching behavior, which is controlled by formation/dissolution processes of Ag conducting filaments through electrochemical redox reaction under external electric field driven. Conductive atomic force microscopy (C-AFM) technique provides the valuable mapping images of existing Ag filaments at low resista.ce sta.e as well as the characteristics of filament distributions and diameters. This study also reveals that where the higher amplitude of topography is, the easier possibility of forming conducting filament paths is on CrOx surface films.
