In this paper an explicit finite-difference time-domain scheme for solving the Maxwell’s equations in non-staggered grids is *** proposed scheme for solving the Faraday’s and Amp`ere’s equations in a theoretical manner is aimed to preserve discrete zero-divergence for the electric and magnetic *** inherent local conservation laws in Maxwell’s equations are also preserved discretely all the time using the explicit second-order accurate symplectic partitioned Runge-Kutta *** remaining spatial derivative terms in the semi-discretized Faraday’s and Amp`ere’s equations are then discretized to provide an accurate mathematical dispersion relation equation that governs the numerical angular frequency and the wavenumbers in two space *** achieve the goal of getting the best dispersive characteristics,we propose a fourth-order accurate space centered scheme which minimizes the difference between the exact and numerical dispersion relation *** the computational exercises,the proposed dual-preserving solver is computationally demonstrated to be efficient for use to predict the long-term accurate Maxwell’s solutions.

Introduction: Despite communication on Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), close to 5.9 million people didn’t know they were living with HIV. One of the modes of transmission of HIV is vertical transmission. It remains the principal way of transmission of HIV for children below 15 years, with over 90% of them being infected. In Cameroon, the mother and child transmission of HIV is still a problem with 5.5% of infection of exposed infant at the early infant diagnosis in 2019. Awareness on prevention of mother to child transmission (PMTCT) is an important component for the fight against HIV. We therefore aimed at gauging the level of knowledge of a group of adult clients on HIV and PMTCT. Methodology: We conducted a cross sectional and analytical study at the Yaoundé Gyneco-Obstetric and Pediatric hospital for a period of one month. Were included, adults who visited the hospital for a free screening campaign on HIV. Data were collected using a questionnaire on their characteristics and knowledge of HIV and PMTCT. Data were entered using CSPro and analysed using IBM SPSS. Results: There was a gap in knowledge on HIV, considering satisfactory knowledge from 25 points and above, it was noted that 34.6% of our respondents had a non-satisfactory knowledge. For PMTCT, knowledge was average with the majority scoring 10 points on 18. Considering satisfactory knowledge on PMTCT was from 10 and above, 35.9% of our respondents had a non-satisfactory knowledge. Female sex was associated with satisfactory knowledge for both HIV and PMTCT. Conclusion: Concerning PMTCT, the knowledge of the mode of transmission, Antiretroviral (ARV) drugs for prevention to the babies or feedings recommendations on exposed HIV infants were poor. There is a gap in favor of women regarding knowledge between HIV and PMTCT. Therefore, men are highly encouraged to take part to health promotion activities on HIV and PMTCT.

As college campuses reopened in fall 2020,we saw a large-scale experiment unfold on the efficacy of various strategies to contain the SARS-CoV-2 *** individual surveillance testing via nasal swabs and/or saliva is among the measures that colleges are pursuing to reduce the spread of the virus on ***,some colleges are testing wastewater on their campuses for signs of infection,which can provide an early warning signal for campuses to locate COVID-positive ***,a representation of wastewater surveillance has not yet been incorporated into epidemiological models for college campuses,nor has the efficacy of wastewater screening been evaluated relative to traditional individual surveillance testing,within the structure of these ***,we implement a new model component for wastewater surveillance within an established epidemiological model for college *** use a hypothetical residential university to evaluate the efficacy of wastewater surveillance for maintaining low infection *** find that wastewater sampling with a 1-day lag to initiate individual screening tests,plus completing the subsequent tests within a 4-day period can keep overall infections within 5%of the infection rates seen with traditional individual surveillance *** results also indicate that wastewater surveillance can effectively reduce the number of false positive cases by identifying subpopulations for surveillance testing where infectious individuals are more likely to be *** a Monte Carlo risk analysis,we find that surveillance testing that relies solely on wastewater sampling can be fragile against scenarios with high viral reproductive numbers and high rates of infection of campus community members by outside *** results point to the practical importance of additional surveillance measures to limit the spread of the virus on campus and the necessity of a proactive response to the initial signs of outbreak.

The incidence of prostate cancer is rising in the Asia-Pacific region as well as other countries. Androgen-ablation therapy is clinically useful in the androgen-dependent phenotype however, many patients progress to hormone refractory prostate cancer that is difficult to treat and needs newer interventions that are more effective. The objective of this study was to determine functionally-relevant biological networks, to appreciate the potential crosstalk between signaling members, and to identify biomarker signatures in prostate cancer. We used microarray analyses to identify key genes that were upregulated or down regulated at least five-fold in human prostate cancer and constructed canonical interaction networks that are important in prostate cancer through metabolomics analyses. Our prostate cancer network architecture revealed several key biomarkers including eRK1/2, JNK, p38, MeK, PI3 K, NFκB, AP-1, 14-3-3, VeGF, PDGF, Rb, WNT8 A, WNT10 A, CD44, eSR2, FSH and LH. Furthermore, the top ten transcription factors identified by TFBS-association signature analysis in the regulatory elements of co-regulated biomarkers were delineated, which may crosstalk with upstream or downstream genes elicited in our network architecture. Taken together, our results demonstrate that the regulatory interaction networks in prostate cancer provide a universal view of crosstalk between important biomarkers, i.e., key players in the pathogenesis of this disease. This will facilitate more rapid screening of functional biomarkers in early/intermediate drug discovery.

Tocopherols belong to a subgroup of the vitamin e family. Dietary feeding of a γ-tocopherol-rich mixture of tocopherols(γ-Tm T) inhibits prostate tumorigenesis in TRAMP mice. In this study, we aimed to investigate mechanisms of prostate carcinogenesis in TRAMP mice by identifying differentially expressed pathways and effects of γ-Tm T on these pathways. eight-week-old TRAMP and age-matched C57BL/6 mice were administered either 600 mg/kg of γ-Tm T or a control vehicle via oral gavage. Twelve hours after dosing, prostate tissues were collected for RNA extraction. Whole genome mouse microarrays were used to examine gene expression profiles. The expression of the selected genes were validated using quantitative PCR. Thousands of genes and various pathways were altered in the prostates of TRAMP mice. Compared to C57BL/6 mice, TRAMP mice exhibited enhanced proliferation, suppressed expression of antioxidant and phase II detoxification enzymes, and metabolic reprogramming in the prostate. γ-Tm T differentially regulated the gene expression profiles of TRAMP and C57BL/6 mice, with only a small percentage of genes overlapping. γ-Tm T inhibited genes involved in proliferation and glucose metabolism and induced several antioxidant/phase II detoxification genes in TRAMP mice. γ-Tm T modulates multiple aberrant pathways in the prostate of TRAMP mice, which might represent important mechanisms for prostate cancer prevention.

目的本文探讨了最大呼气量对运动通气反应的影响。方法选择6名较高最大呼气量(FeV1>80%Pred;FeV1/FVC>72%)和5名较低最大呼气量(FeV1ed;FeV1/FVCeWR)。结果在休息或VTh状态下呼吸CO2时,高流量者和低流量者的通气均增加(PeWR增大(PeV1(%Pred)(r=0.72,P<0.02)呈显著相关性。低流量者行最大运动的终末呼气肺容量和终末吸气肺容量在呼吸室内空气或CO2时较高,分别P<0.001、P<0.05。结论这些结果提示,低流量者吸入CO2来增强通气需求时,对较大或最大运动量的通气反应呈约束状态。这些结果可证实,高流量和低流量受试者在呼吸室内空气和3%CO2时的呼吸机制有显著性差别。

For the medicolegal evaluation of victims of survived strangulation,a neck-magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)can be performed for assessing lesions in the inner soft tissues(fat,muscles or lymph nodes,for example).In our institute,such MRI examinations have been performed for a test period of 4 years with the aim of evaluating the use of this tool by forensic pathologists and identifying medicolegal indicators for the performance of neck-MRI in surviving victims of *** retrospectively reviewed medicolegal reports from all victims examined during the test *** extracted objective lesions(***,bruising and abrasions)and reported clinical symptoms(*** disorder,dysphasia)from the *** findings were compared to those reported from the *** total,112 victims were clinically examined after suspected *** of these victims underwent an MRI examination of the ***-four of the victims presented objective lesions during the clinical examination,with eight showing signs of both petechiae and ***-MRI was performed in four of these eight victims and three of them showed lesions visible in *** 76 victims with bruising as the only objective finding,66 victims described clinical *** those 66 victims,seven were examined by MRI and two demonstrated lesions in *** MRI was performed,relevant findings were detected in 45%of the *** leads to the suspicion that many more findings could have been detected in the other victims,if an MRI had been performed in those *** results lead us to the conclusion that an MRI examination of victims of suspected strangulation is useful,and strict indications for its application should be established.
