Subsurface multi-physical characterization of mountain excavation and city construction in loess plateau with a fiber-optic sensing system

Mountain excavation and city construction(MECC)projects being launched in the Loess Plateau in China involve the creation of large-scale artificial *** the subsurface evolution characteristics of the artificial land is essential,yet ***,we use an improved fiber-optic monitoring system for its subsurface multi-physical *** system enables us to gather spatiotemporal distribution of various parameters,including strata deformation,temperature,and ***’an New District was selected as a case study to conduct refined in-situ monitoring through a 77 m-deep borehole and a 30 m-long *** reveal that the ground settlement involves both the deformation of the filling loess and the underlying intact ***,the filling loess exhibits a stronger creep capability compared to underlying intact *** deformation along the profile is unevenly distributed,with a positive correlation with soil *** accumulation has been observed at the interface between the filling loess and the underlying intact loess,leading to a significant ***,the temperature and moisture in the filling loess have reached a new equilibrium state,with their depths influenced by atmospheric conditions measuring at 31 m and 26 m,*** refined investigation allows us to identify critical layers that matter the sustainable development of newly created urban areas,and provide improved insights into the evolution mechanisms of land creation.

Suppressing Wnt signaling of the blood-tumor barrier to intensify drug delivery and inhibit lipogenesis of brain metastases

Lipogenesis is often highly upregulated in breast cancer brain metastases to adapt to intracranial low lipid *** inhibitors hold therapeutic potential but their intra-tumoral distribution is often blocked by the blood-tumor barrier(BTB).BTB activates its Wnt signaling to maintain barrier properties,e.g.,Mfsd2a-mediated BTB low ***,we reported VCAM-1-targeting nano-wogonin(W@V-NPs)as an adjuvant of nano-orlistat(O@V-NPs)to intensify drug delivery and inhibit lipogenesis of brain metastases.W@V-NPs were proven to be able to inactivate BTB Wnt signaling,downregulate BTB Mfsd2a,accelerate BTB vesicular transport,and enhance tumor accumulation of O@*** the ability to specifically kill cancer cells in a lipid-deprived environment with IC_(50) at 48 ng/mL,W@V-NPs plus O@V-NPs inhibited the progression of brain metastases with prolonged survival of model *** combination did not induce brain edema,cognitive impairment,and systemic toxicity in healthy *** Wnt signaling could safely modulate the BTB to improve drug delivery and metabolic therapy against brain metastases.

Persistent greening against drying in northeast Asian semiarid grasslands:Asymmetrical responses of direct and legacy effects to intensified drought

Despite experiencing a decadal shift towards drought conditions at the end of the 2Oth century,semiarid grasslands in northeast Asia(NEA)exhibited an evident greening trend from 1982 to ***,the mechanism behind this phenomenon remains ***,we analysed the interdecadal changes in vegetation response to drought on the basis of the standardised precipitation evapotranspiration index(SPEI)and Global Inventory Modelling and Mapping Studies LAI4g datasets,with an emphasis on the differences between direct and legacy effects(as measured by resilience),to explore the mechanism of persistent grassland *** revealed that during the post-drought shift period(2000-2020),the sudden decrease in the water content of the intermediate soil layer triggered an intensified vegetation response to ***,although direct effects and resilience were amplified,they exhibited asymmetric *** was stronger than direct effects,and this difference increased with increasing drought(drought recovery)*** combined effects may account for persistent greening against intensified drying in the semiarid grasslands in *** the projected exacerbation of future droughts,this study holds notable importance for comprehending the long-term change dynamics of dryland ecosystems.

Shuxuening Injection Inhibits Apoptosis and Reduces Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Rats through PI3K/AKT Pathway

Objective: To investigate the main components and potential mechanism of Shuxuening Injection(SXNI) in the treatment of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(MIRI) through network pharmacology and in vivo research. Methods: The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP) and Pharm Mapper databases were used to extract and evaluate the effective components of Ginkgo biloba leaves, the main component of SXNI. The Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man(OMIM) and Gene Cards databases were searched for disease targets and obtain the drug target and disease target intersections. The active ingredient-target network was built using Cytoscape 3.9.1 software. The STRING database, Metascape online platform, and R language were used to obtain the key targets and signaling pathways of the anti-MIRI effects of SXNI. In order to verify the therapeutic effect of different concentrations of SXNI on MIRI in rats, 60 rats were first divided into 5 groups according to random number table method: the sham operation group, the model group, SXNI low-dose(3.68 mg/kg), medium-dose(7.35 mg/kg), and high-dose(14.7 mg/kg) groups, with 12 rats in each group. Then, another 60 rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: the sham operation group, the model group, SXNI group(14.7 mg/kg), SXNI+LY294002 group,and LY294002 group, with 12 rats in each group. The drug was then administered intraperitoneally at body weight for 14 days. The main biological processes were validated using in vivo testing. Evans blue/triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC) double staining, hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase d UTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) assay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), and Western blot analysis were used to investigate the efficacy and mechanism of SXNI in MIRI rats. Insufficient TRPM5 Mediates Lipotoxicity-induced Pancreaticβ-cell Dysfunction

Atomically precise Ru-O-Ru clusters for enhanced water dissociation in alkaline hydrogen evolution

Atomic clusters typically exhibit distinctive electronic structures and physicochemical ***,as the size decreases,their ability to adsorb and dissociate water also diminishes,thereby affecting chemical reactions involving water *** the adsorption and dissociation capabilities of atomic clusters towards water molecules and elucidating the mechanisms underlying their performance enhancement have become important research ***,employing the carrier-anchored strategy,Ru-O-Ru atomic clusters were prepared and displayed excellent activity and durability in the hydrogen evolution ***,the Ru-O-Ru atomic clusters exhibited only 86 mV overpotential at 100 mA·cm−^(2) and superior membrane-electrode-assembly activity than commercial Ru/C *** radiation-based Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic measurements revealed that the modification of oxygen in Ru-O-Ru units promoted the reorientation of water molecules from a H-up orientation to H-down,therefore,enhanced the formation of strong hydrogen-bond network of interfacial water on the surface of Ru-O-Ru clusters,leading to enhanced adsorption and dissociation of water and accelerated Volmer *** findings provide a potential strategy and deep insights for the development of atomic clusters in electrocatalysts.

Lactose-free milk powder can effectively relieve diarrhea symptoms in weaning SD rats and children

Diarrhea has become the leading cause of illness and death among infants and young children in developing ***,patients with diarrhea showed damaged intestinal epithelial villi,usually accompanied by lactase *** this study,we evaluated the therapeutic effects of lactose-free milk powder on rats and children with ***-associated diarrhea(AAD)model was established by gavage with antibiotic mixture in SD rats,followed by administration of milk powder containing lactose or *** results showed that lactose-free milk powder ameliorated A AD-related diarrhea symptoms,and accelerated the recovery from *** 16S sequencing results indicated lactose-free milk powder contributed to increase theα-andβ-diversity of intestinal flora,and restore the intestinal microbiota *** conclusion,our data demonstrate that lactose-free milk powder could alleviate diarrhea by restoring gut microbiota and intestinal barrier function.
