Determination of oil well production performance using artificial neural network (ANN) linked to the particle swarm optimization (PSO) tool

Greater complexity is involved in the transient pressure analysis of horizontal oil wells in contrast to vertical wells,as the horizontal wells are considered entirely horizontal and parallel with the top and underneath boundaries of the oil ***,there is an essential need to estimate productivity of horizontal wells accurately to examine the effectiveness of a horizontal well in terms of technical and economic *** this work,novel and rigorous methods based on two different types of intelligent approaches including the artificial neural network(ANN)linked to the particle swarm optimization(PSO)tool are developed to precisely forecast the productivity of horizontal wells under pseudo-steady-state *** was found that there is very good match between the modeling output and the real data taken from the literature,so that a very low average absolute error percentage is attained(e.g.,<0.82%).The developed techniques can be also incorporated in the numerical reservoir simulation packages for the purpose of accuracy improvement as well as better parametric sensitivity analysis.

Multi-Class Sentiment Analysis on Twitter: Classification Performance and Challenges

Sentiment analysis refers to the automatic collection,aggregation,and classification of data collected online into different emotion *** most of the work related to sentiment analysis of texts focuses on the binary and ternary classification of these data,the task of multi-class classification has received less ***-class classification has always been a challenging task given the complexity of natural languages and the difficulty of understanding and mathematically"quantifying"how humans express their *** this paper,we study the task of multi-class classification of online posts of Twitter users,and show how far it is possible to go with the classification,and the limitations and difficulties of this *** proposed approach of multi-class classification achieves an accuracy of 60.2%for 7 different sentiment classes which,compared to an accuracy of 81.3%for binary classification,emphasizes the effect of having multiple classes on the classification ***,we propose a novel model to represent the different sentiments and show how this model helps to understand how sentiments are *** model is then used to analyze the challenges that multi-class classification presents and to highlight possible future enhancements to multi-class classification accuracy.

Discrete Circular Distributions with Applications to Shared Orthologs of Paired Circular Genomes

For structural comparisons of paired prokaryotic genomes,an important topic in synthetic and evolutionary biology,the locations of shared orthologous genes(henceforth orthologs)are observed as binned *** and other data,e.g.,wind directions recorded at monitoring sites and intensive care unit arrival times on the 24-hour clock,are counted in binned circular arcs,thus modeling them by discrete circular distributions(DCDs)is *** propose a novel method to construct a DCD from a base continuous circular distribution(CCD).The probability mass function is defined to take the normalized values of the probability density function at some pre-fixed equidistant points on the *** families of constructed DCDs which have normalizing constants in closed form are *** studies show that DCDs outperform the corresponding CCDs in modeling grouped(discrete)circular data,and minimum chi-square estimation outperforms maximum likelihood estimation for *** apply the constructed DCDs,invariant wrapped Poisson and wrapped discrete skew Laplace to compare the structures of paired bacterial ***,discrete four-parameter wrapped Cauchy(nonnegative trigonometric sums)distribution models multi-modal shared orthologs in Clostridium(Sulfolobus)better than the others considered,in terms of AIC and Freedman’s goodness-of-fit *** result that different DCDs fit the shared orthologs is consistent with the fact they belong to two ***,these prokaryotes have a common favored site around 70°on the unit circle;this finding is important for building synthetic prokaryotic genomes in synthetic *** DCDs can also be applied to other binned circular data.

A microtubule nucleates from a γ-tubuUn complex, which consists of γ-tubulin, proteins from the SPC971SPC98 family, and the WD40 motif protein GCP-WD. We analyzed the phylogenetic relationships of the genes encoding these proteins and found that the components of this complex are widely conserved among land plants and other eukaryotes. By contrast, the interphase and mitotic arrays of microtubules in land plants differ from those in other eukaryotes. In the interphase cortical array, the majority of microtubules nucleate on existing microtubules in the absence of conspicuous microtubule organizing centers （MTOCs）, such as a centrosome. During mitosis, the spindle also forms in the absence of conspicuous MTOCs. Both poles of the spindle are broad, and branched structures of microtubules called microtubule converging centers form at the poles. In this review, we hypothesize that the microtubule converging centers form via microtubule-dependent microtubule nucleation, as in the case of the interphase arrays. The evolutionary insights arising from the molecular basis of the diversity in microtubule organization are discussed.

Direct numerical simulation of elastic turbulence and its mixing-enhancement effect in a straight channel flow

In this paper,we present a direct numerical simulation（DNS） of elastic turbulence of viscoelastic fluid at vanishingly low Reynolds number（Re = 1） in a three-dimensional straight channel flow for the first time,using the Giesekus constitutive model for the *** order to generate and maintain the turbulent fluid motion in the straight channel,a sinusoidal force term is added to the momentum equation,and then the elastic turbulence is numerically realized with an initialized chaotic velocity field and a stretched conformation *** and structural characteristics of the elastic turbulence therein are analyzed based on the detailed information obtained from the *** fluid mixing enhancement effect of elastic turbulence is also demonstrated for the potential applications of this phenomenon.

Aeolian dust particles arising from arid and semiarid zones are known to carry microbes by air currents. The effect of wind-borne bacteria on atmospheric bacterial population at various downwind distances from the dust source regions must be clarified, but has not yet been reported. This study monitored the bacterial abundance and community composition in outdoor aerosol samples in Beijing, China, which is close to the Asian dust source regions, and compared them with the results obtained in a distant region（Osaka, Japan）.The Asian dust collected in Beijing contained（4 ± 3） × 10^4 bacterial cells/m^3, approximately 4 times higher than in Osaka. On 15 April 2015, Beijing experienced severe Asian dust events with a 1000-fold increase in bacterial abundance, relative to non-Asian dust days. Dominant bacterial phyla and classes in Asian dust collected in Beijing were Actinobacteria, Bacilli and Acidobacteria, and the bacterial community composition varied more widely than in *** bacterial community compositions differed between the Beijing and Osaka dusts, even for the same Asian dust events. These results indicated that aerosol bacterial communities nearer the dust source are more affected by eolian dust than their distant counterparts.

Spurious-mode vibrations caused by alternating current poling and their solution process for Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)-PbTiO_(3) single crystals

The effects of alternating current poling(ACP)at 80℃on electrical properties of[001]-oriented 0.72 Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)-0.28PbTiO_(3)(PMN-28PT)single crystals(SCs)have been *** square-wave ACP SCs poled at high voltage(HV,5 kV_(rms)/cm)occasionally showed large fluctuations and low opposite values of piezoelectric coefficient(d_(33)=±1370 pC/N)in one *** revealed spuriousmode vibrations(SMV)of impedance ***,after depolarizing and repolarizing the sample with a sine-wave ACP at low voltage(LV,3.5 kV_(rms)/cm),the d_(33) enhanced to be 1720 pC/N(+26%)and did not exhibit large fluctuation or opposite values in one plate any *** impedance spectrum became clean and the abnormal SMV *** proposed four possible mechanisms of the SMV,and speculate that the main cause maybe by macro-scale sub-domain structure and/or phase change in the main domain structure and/or phase in the SC plate due to the specific poling conditions not eternal mechanical damage of PMN-PT *** study will be useful to realize a high d_(33) and improve other properties of PMN-PT ACP SC ultrasonic transducers without any SMV for high-frequency medical imaging equipment.

High piezoelectricity after field cooling AC poling in temperature stable ternary single crystals manufactured by continuous-feeding Bridgman method

After field cooling(FC)alternating current poling(ACP),we investigated the dielectric and piezoelectric properties of[001]_(pc)-oriented 0.24Pb(In_(1/2)Nb_(1/2))O_(3)(PIN)-0.46Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)(PMN)-0.30PbTiO3(PT)(PIMN-0.30PT)single crystals(SCs),which were manufactured by continuous-feeding Bridgman(CF BM)within morphotropic phase boundary(MPB)*** ACP with 4 kVrms/cm from 100 to 70℃,the PIMN-0.30PT SC attained high dielectric permittivity of 8330,piezoelectric coefficient(d_(33))of 2750 pC/N,bar mode electromechanical coupling factorκ_(33)of 0.96 with higher phase change temperature(T_(pc))of 103℃,and high Curie temperature(7c)of 180℃.These values are the highest ever reported as PIMN-xPT SC system with Tpc>100℃.The enhancement of these properties is attributed to the induced low symmetry multi-phase supported by phase *** work indicates that FC ACP is a smart and promising method to enhance piezoelectric properties of relaxor-PT ferroelectric SCs including PIMN-xPT,and provides a route to a wide range of piezoelectric device applications.
