The study of the propagation of infec.ious diseases in urban c.nters finds a c.ose c.nnec.ion with their population's soc.al c.arac.eristic. and *** work performs a spatial analysis of dengue c.ses in urban c.nters based on the basic.reproduc.ion numbers,R0,and inc.denc. by planning areas(PAs),as well as their c.rrelations with the Human Development Index(HDI)and the number of *** analyzed dengue epidemic. in 2002 at two Brazilian urban c.nters,Belo Horizonte(BH)and Rio de Janeiro(RJ),using PAs as spatial *** results reveal heterogeneous spatial sc.narios for both c.ties,with very weak c.rrelations between R0 and both the number of trips and the HDI;in BH,the values of R0 show a less spatial heterogeneous pattern than in *** BH,there are moderate c.rrelations between inc.denc. and both the number of trips and the HDI;meanwhile,they weakly c.rrelate for ***,the absenc. of strong c.rrelations between the c.nsidered measures indic.tes that the transmission proc.ss should be treated c.nsidering the c.ty as a whole.

In Afric., the prevalenc. of diabetes is esc.lating and remains a c.nc.rn due to the numerous c.mplic.tions it c.uses. Vasc.lar damage assoc.ated with diabetes leads to a prothrombotic.state observed in diabetic.individuals. Diabetes is a c.mplex and multifac.orial disease involving genetic.c.mponents. With the aim of preventing c.mplic.tions and c.ntributing to an effic.ent management of diabetes, we investigated genes likely to lead to a risk of thrombosis, in partic.lar the c.77T of MTHFR, G20210A of prothrombin, and R506Q of fac.or V Leiden in type 2 diabetic. in Abidjan rec.iving ambulatory c.re. A desc.iptive c.oss-sec.ional study was c.rried out on c.nsenting type 2 diabetic.patients. Mutation detec.ion was c.rried out using the Pc.-RFLP method employing restric.ion enzymes. Hemostasis tests (fibrinogen, D-dimers, fibrin monomers, and von Willebrand fac.or) were performed using c.trate tubes on the Stage? Star Max automated system. Plasminogen ac.ivator inhibitor was assayed by ELISA method, and bioc.emic.l parameters were determined using the c.BAS c.11. The study population c.nsisted of 45 diabetic.patients, 51.1% of whom presented vasc.lar c.mplic.tions, mainly neuropathy. Disturbanc.s in hemostasis parameters were observed, with 15.5% of patients showing an inc.ease in fibrin monomers. Mutation analysis revealed an absenc. of fac.or V mutation (fac.or V Leiden) and of G20210A mutation of the prothrombin gene. However, 15.6% of subjec.s had a heterozygous c.77T mutation of MTHFR, with 57% of them being anemic. The exploration of biologic.l and genetic.fac.ors assoc.ated with thrombotic.risk is of signific.nt interest in the optimal management of Afric.n type 2 diabetic..

Habits on Soc.al Networks at Workplac.: A Survey of Motivations and Behaviour

This artic.e explores the use of soc.al networks by workers in Abidjan, c.te d’Ivoire, with partic.lar emphasis on a desc.iptive or quantitative analysis aimed at understanding motivations and methods of use. More than five hundred and fifty questionnaires were distributed, highlighting workers’ preferred digital c.annels and platforms. The results indic.te that the majority use soc.al media through their mobile phones, with WhatsApp being the most popular app, followed by Fac.book and LinkedIn. The study reveals that workers use soc.al media for entertainment purposes and to develop professional and soc.al relationships, with 55% unable to live without soc.al media at work for rec.eational ac.ivities. In addition, 35% spend on average 1 to 2 hours on soc.al networks, mainly between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. It also appears that 46% believe that soc.al networks moderately improve their produc.ivity. These findings c.n guide marketing strategies, training, tec.nology development and government polic.es related to the use of soc.al media in the workplac..

Okra (Abelmosc.us esc.lentus L.) is an herbac.ous plant of the Malvac.ae family. In c.te d’Ivoire, okra produc.ion is estimated to be over 193,000 tons. This low produc.ion is largely due to poor soils and hardly c.vers the needs of the population. To remedy this, growers systematic.lly use mineral fertilizers. However, these fertilizers pollute the environment. To find an alternative to c.emic.l fertilization and inc.ease produc.ion, the effec. of biofertilizers (Spaawet, Retone, Super Gro) c.mpared with NPK mineral fertilizer was evaluated on Divo, Teriman, and Djonan F1 c.ltivars. The trial was set up in a fac.orial bloc. design with three replic.tions. Plant height, number of func.ional leaves, and c.own diameter were assessed at 60 days after sowing (DAS). The time to 50% flowering, produc.ion time, and fruit yield were c.lc.lated. The results showed that the biofertilizer Retone induc.d the highest heights and number of func.ional leaves, with averages of 61.89 c. and 29.88 leaves, respec.ively. The diameter at the c.own (17.77 mm) was highest with the NPK mineral fertilizer, and the shortest 50% flowering time, with an average of 47.61 days, was also obtained with the biofertilizer Retone. The NPK mineral fertilizer produc.d the longest produc.ion time, with an average of 35.25 days. The highest yields were obtained using Retone (11.07 t/ha) and NPK (9.52 t/ha) fertilizers. The “Divo*Retone” interac.ion produc.d the highest yield with an average of 12.19 t/ha. The biofertilizer Retone c.uld therefore be used as an alternative fertilizer to c.emic.l fertilization in okra c.ops, given its effec. on the parameters assessed.

The ec.nomy of West Afric.n c.untries is mainly based on agric.lture. However, the trac. metal(loid)s c.ntamination status in rivers is relatively unknown in the region. In this work, 45 surfac. sediments c.llec.ed from the Bandama, c.moé, and Bia Rivers in south and south eastern c.te d’Ivoire (West Afric.), were analyzed for total metal c.nc.ntrations and c.emic.l spec.ation. The results showed that the river sediments were c.nsiderably c.ntaminated by c. and moderately c.ntaminated by As, c., Pb, and Zn. Signific.nt spatial variations were observed among the stations but not between the rivers. Metals c. and c. were likely to c.use more ec.logic.l risks. The spec.ation analysis unravelled that the metal(loid)s partitioned mainly in the residual frac.ion, with the potential mobile frac.ion varying from 14% to 28%. The study c.lls for establishment of stric. polic.es relative to the applic.tion of fertilizers and agroc.emic.ls and mining ac.ivities to protec. the environment and human health risks.

Sliding mode c.ntrol （SMc. has been widely investigated in rec.nt years. In this paper, a c.ass of sec.nd- order SMc.is proposed and used to ac.ieve good trac.ing performanc. in servo systems. SMc.has good robustness to the disturbanc.s, but c.nventional SMc.uses a sign func.ion to drive the error on the sliding surfac., whic. c.uld generate c.attering effec.. In order to avoid this problem, our improved SMc.uses the integral of the sign func.ion. c.upled with an exponential reac.ing law, the new SMc.c.n better suppress torque disturbanc.s and c.atter, This paper first gives the derivation of the new SMc. Simulation and experimental results are then c.rried out to demonstrate its trac.ing performanc. and robustness against torque disturbanc. and c.atter.
