Atmospheric chemistry of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde:Initiated by photo-excitation,OH-oxidation,and small TiO_(2) clusters adsorption catalysis

The fate of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde(2-NBA)is of interest in atmospheric chemistry as it is a semi-volatile organic compound with high *** study presents a quantum chemical study of the gas-phase reactions of 2-NBA photo-excitation and OH-oxidation in the absence and presence of small TiO_(2) *** further understand the unknown photolysis mechanism,the photo-reaction pathways of ground singlet state and the lying excited triplet state of 2-NBA were investigated including the initial and subsequent reactions of proton transfer,direct CO,NO_(2),and HCO elimination routes in the presence of O_(2) and ***,the OH-mediated degradation of 2-NBA proceeded via five H-extraction and six OH-addition channels by indirect mechanism,which follows a succession of reaction steps initiated by the formation of weakly stable intermediate *** H-extraction from the-CHO group was the dominant pathway with a negative activation energy of-1.22 kcal/*** calculated rate coefficients at 200–600 K were close to the experimental data in literature within 308-352 K,and the kinetic negative temperature independence was found in both experimental literature and computational ***,2-NBA was favored to be captured onto small TiO_(2) clusters via six adsorption configurations formed via various combination of three types of bonds of Ti…O,Ti…C,and O…H between the molecularly adsorbed 2-NBA and TiO_(2) *** indicted that the chemisorptions of aldehyde oxygen have largest *** results suggested adsorption conformations have a respectable impact on the catalysis *** study is significant for understanding the atmospheric chemistry of 2-nitrobenzaldehyde.

Durably and intrinsically antibacterial polyamide 6(PA6)via backbone end-capping with high temperature-resistant imidazolium

The antibacterial polyamide 6(PA6)material has attracted great research interest due to its wide ap-plication in food packaging,biomedical fields,functional textiles,and other ***,it is still a challenge to prepare intrinsically antibacterial PA6 with highly efficient and durably antibacterial activity via ***,the antibacterial imidazolium ionic liquid of 3-carboxymethyl-1-decyl imida-zole chloride was designed and synthesized for adapting the polymerization and processing temperature of *** antibacterial PA6(PA6-IL)was synthesized through hydrolyzed ring-opening copolymeriza-tion with imidazolium at the end of the *** to physical blending or post-modification methods,antibacterial agents as end-capping reagents of polymer backbones endowed PA6 with intrin-sic antibacterial *** expected,the obtained PA6-IL exhibited not just comparable physicochemical and mechanical properties to conventional PA6 but excellent antibacterial activity of low antibacterial time to 60 min and durability for 28 ***,the corresponding electrospun PA6-IL nanofi-brous membranes showed homogenous morphology and remarkable hydrophilicity of 7.7° as well as the high-efficient antibacterial ***-spun PA6-IL microfibers revealed a smooth surface as well as enhanced tensile strength and increased breaking elongation compared to those of conventional *** PA6-IL microfibers also behaved with excellent antibacterial efficiency and ***,this work provides a feasible and straightforward strategy to prepare durably and intrinsically antibacterial PA6 materials especially PA6 fibers,which can be widely applied in the textiles field.

Melt polymerization synthesis of a class of robust self-shaped olefin-linked COF foams as high-efficiency separators

The practical applications of crystalline porous materials toward industrial separations require shaping them into robust monoliths(e.g., foams). The current methods are often complicated, environmentally unfriendly, and unscalable, significantly hampering their practical application. Herein, we report a scalable, facile “one-step thermomolding” method to fabricate a class of hierarchically olefin-linked covalent organic framework(COF) foams via melt polymerization. The obtained pure COF foams possess higher crystallinity and porosity than literature, good moldability, and processability, greatly benefiting their practical applications(e.g., efficient oil-water separation with 99% removal efficiency and >100 cycle reusability). Moreover, a COF exhibiting the smallest(0.58 nm) eclipsed stacking pore among all 2-dimensional COFs with neutral skeletons is first fabricated via this protocol, demonstrating good C2 H2 purification performance and recyclability, surpassing the current benchmark materials. We believe that this facile fabrication strategy can promote access to a broad diversity of new COF foams and enlighten further avenues for green routes to large-scale synthesis and usage of COFs.

Emergy analysis of paddy farming in Hunan Province, China： A new perspective on sustainable development of agriculture

The multi-functionality of paddy farming has become a hot issue recently. Paddy farming provides numerous ecosystem services that are crucial to human well-being. However, evaluation of the contribution of paddy farming to human well-being usually focus on its economic value, while its non-market services are usually ignored. Only evaluating the market profits or market relative benefits cannot reflect comprehensively the contribution of paddy farming to people＇s well-being. This will affect people＇s choices for or against paddy farming activities and people＇s opt for invest or not invest in it. A comprehensive evaluation of paddy farming can provide an important reference for the government and society to conserve the multi-functionality of paddy farming and achieve sustainable development. To this end, this paper reports a case evaluation of paddy farming in Hunan, the largest rice producing as well as rice yield province in China, and uses emergy theory to make a comprehensive evaluation for paddy farming. The emergy evaluation results of the paddy ecosystem in Hunan are as follows： in 2010, the input emergy of the paddy ecosystem in Hunan is 2.51E＋22 sej and the output emergy is 6.31E＋22sej. For the input emergy, the part from natural resources is 1.96E＋21 sej and the part from human society is 2.32E＋22sej; for the output emergy, the part from products is 2.22E＋22 sej, the part from impositive externality is 4.16E＋22 sej and the part from negative externality is –7.41E＋20 sej. Taking the non-market outputs into consideration, the gains from the human economic society＇s 1 $ input in paddy farming, emergy sustainability index（ESI） and emergy profit rate are respectively 2.73 $, 3.53 and 151.31%. If the evaluation leave out the non-market output, the three indexes are only 0.96 $,1.24 and 30.67%. Rapid lithium-ion insertion/extraction and migration behavior of Na_(2)WO_(4)-encapsulated lithium-rich layered oxide cathode

Due to the low cost,high working voltage and high storage capacity,Li-rich Mn-based layered compounds show promise as the cathode materials for lithiumion batteries(LIBs).However,the side reactions at the solid-liquid interface of the cathode will lead to rapid capacity decay and inferior rate ***,this article proposes a liquid-phase dispersion strategy to introduce a Na_(2)WO_(4)layer on the Li_(1.2)Ni_(0.13)-Co_(0.13)Mn_(0.54)O_(2) cathode,which can reduce the side effects between raw materials and electrolyte and promote the insertion/extraction rate of Li^(+),thus enhancing the material stability and rate *** a result,the capacity retention rate is 96.9%after 200 cycles under ***,the capacities are 177.5,149.5,111.1 and58.3 mAh·g^(-1)at 1C,2C,5C and 10C,implying a superior fast charging *** exceptional performance can be ascribed to both the increased conductivity and enhanced structural stability of the cathode ***'s more,based on the investigation of ion insertion/extraction behavior in electrode materials and the ion migration kinetics in the electrolyte,this study suggests that coating Li-rich Mn-based materials with Na_(2)WO_(4)can be a promising strategy to improve their performance in LIBs.

Design and application of structural health monitoring system in long-span cable-membrane structure

Cable-membrane structures have small rigidity and are highly sensitive to wind. Structural health monitoring is necessary to ensure the serviceability and safety of the structure. In this research, the design method of a structural health monitoring system is using the characteristics of a cable-membrane structure. Taking the Yueyang Sanhe Airport Terminal as an example, a finite element model is established to determine the critical structural components. Next, the engineering requirements and the framework of the monitoring system are studied based on the results of numerical analysis. The specific implementation of the structural health monitoring is then carried out, which includes sensor selection, installation and wiring. The proposed framework is successfully applied to the monitoring system for the Yueyang Airport terminal building, and the synchronous acquisition of fiber Bragg grating and acceleration sensor signals is implemented in an innovative way. The successful implementation and operation of structural health monitoring will help to guarantee the safety of the cablemembrane structure during its service life.

Supported carbon dots decorated with metallothionein for selective cadmium adsorption and removal

Carbon dots are prepared and immobilized onto spherical SiO_2 through a one-step thermal oxidation and then decorated with metallothionein（MT）, a protein with high affinity towards thiophilic metals. The MT-carbon dots composites are characterized by means of FT-IR, SEM and TGA, giving rise to a MT loading amount of 823 μg g^（-1）. The adsorption of cadmium by the composites is a fast process and follows Langmuir model. In comparison with native SiO_2, a 2- and 2.4-folds improvement on the static and dynamic adsorption capacity of the composites for cadmium are obtained, respectively. Moreover,the adsorption efficiency is not affected by the presence of other metals. Finally, the composites are successfully applied for the removal of cadmium in a series of environmental water samples.

A blind watermarking algorithm for 3D mesh models based on vertex curvature

We propose a robust blind watermarking algorithm for three-dimensional(3D)mesh models based on vertex curvature to maintain good robustness and improve visual masking in 3D mesh *** the embedding process,by using the local window of vertex,the root mean square curvature is calculated for every vertex of the 3D mesh model and an ordered set of fluctuation values is *** to the ordered fluctuation values,the vertices are separated into *** each bin the fluctuation values are ***,the mean of the root mean square curvature fluctuation values of the vertices in each bin is modulated to embed watermark *** watermark detection,the algorithm uses a blind watermark extraction technique to extract the watermark *** experimental results show that the algorithm has a very good performance for visual masking of the embedded model and that it can resist a variety of common attacks such as vertex rearrangement,rotation,translating,uniform scaling,noise,smoothing,quantization,and simplification.
