Risk factors of non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy and central retinal artery occlusion

AIM:To investigate the difference in risk factors between non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy(NAION)and central retinal artery occlusion(CRAO)and develop a predictive diagnostic ***:The study included 37 patients with monocular NAION,20 with monocular CRAO,and 24 with ***,age,and systemic diseases were *** routine,lipids,hemorheology,carotid and brachial artery doppler ultrasound,and echocardiography were *** optic disc area,cup area,and cup-to-disc ratio(C/D)of the unaffected eye in the NAION and CRAO group and the right eye in the hypertension group were ***:The carotid artery intimal medial thickness(C-IMT)of the affected side of the CRAO group was thicker(P=0.039)and its flow-mediated dilation(FMD)was lower(P=0.049)than the NAION *** with hypertension patients,NAION patients had higher whole blood reduced viscosity low-shear(WBRV-L)and erythrocyte aggregation index(EAI;P=0.045,0.037),and CRAO patients had higher index of rigidity of erythrocyte(IR)and erythrocyte deformation index(EDI;P=0.004,0.001).The optic cup and the C/D of the NAION group were smaller than the other two groups(P<0.0001).The diagnostic prediction model showed high diagnostic specificity(83.7%)and sensitivity(85.6%),which was highly related to hypertension,the C-IMT of the affected side,FMD,platelet(PLT),EAI,and C/***:CRAO patients show thicker C-IMT and worse endothelial function than *** and CRAO may be related to abnormal hemorheology.A small cup and small C/D may be involved in *** diagnostic nomogram can be used to preliminarily identify NAION and CRAO.

Hybrid Dextran-gadolinium Nano-suitcases as High-relaxivity MRI Contrast Agents

Dextran-poly（glycidyl methacrylate）（Dex-PGMA） nano-suitcases were synthesized efficiently via a graft copolymerization induced self-assembly （GISA） approach. On this basis, the Dex-PGMA nano-suitcases were modified with hydrazide, and the attachment of multiple chelated Gd（III） ions to the interior of the nano-suitcases affords nanoscale MRI contrast agents with high relaxivity values. The highly fenestrated dextran shell of the nano-suitcases assures water exchange which readily occurs between the surrounding environment and the Gd（III） ions encapsulated within the hybrid nano-suitcases. The complexation between the hydrophilic hydrazide interior of the nano-suitcases and Gd（III） ions results in an impressive Gd payload at 22.6 wt% in the hybrid nano-suitcases. The longitudinal relaxivity （rl） of the hybrid nano-suitcases is reported as 44.4 L/（mmol-s）, which is 9-14 folds of that of commercial Gd-DTPA agents. In vivo MRI studies demonstrate that the hybrid nano-suitcases accumulated in the lymph node of the rat due to their nanoscale dimensions and displayed strong signals in vivo. The results indicated that the hybrid nano-suitcases provide a promising platform for the diagnosis of lymph node related diseases.

Absolute quantum yield （Ф） is one of the most important parameters to evaluate the potential of novel materials. Lanthanide complexes EuxGd1-x（TTA）3phens are synthesized with the ratio of Gd3＋ dopant concentration ranging from 10% to 90% to improve the absolute quantum yield. EuxGd1-x（TTA）3phens possess similar infrared and ultraviolet spectra, showing that they have similar molecular structures. The absolute emission quantum yields of EuxGd1-x（TTA）3phens are determined using a fluoromax-4 spectrofluorometer equipped with an integrating sphere. The fluorescence lifetimes of the EuxGd1-x（TTA）3phens are measured in the same experiment. It was found that both absolute quantum yields and fluorescence lifetimes of EuxGd1-x（TTA）3phens are of quasi-periodic variation with the change of the Gd3. dopant concentrations. The absolute quantum efficiency and fluorescence lifetime vary with respect to the Gd content in an opposite fashion, indicating that the rate of energy absorption by the EuxGd1-x（TTA）3phens and the conversion to light energy is critical for the absolute quantum efficiency. The radiative rate constant Kr and non-radiative rate constant Knr are calculated. The dependence of Kr and Knr on the Gd3＋ dopant concentrations is very similar to that of absolute quantum efficiency. The radiation rate constant Kr and absolute quantum efficiency have a linear relationship.

由分子侧链上修饰近红外荧光分子的聚赖氨酸及表面聚丙烯酸修饰的磁共振显影磁性纳米颗粒为组装单元,采用自组装法构筑了在近红外、磁共振双重显影中均具有蛋白酶响应性的纳米尺度自组装微球.微球形成的组装驱动力为聚赖氨酸侧链氨基与磁性纳米颗粒表面羧基在水相中的静电相互作用,两类组装前驱体在静电力作用下组装为纳米尺度团聚体,再通过戊二醛对氨基的适度交联来构筑胰蛋白酶响应的双显影复合微球.该复合微球处于自组装聚集状态时,微球内近红外荧光分子间的距离减小从而发生荧光共振能量转移,导致荧光分子的自淬灭;而在胰蛋白酶活化后的解组装状态,微球内聚赖氨酸重复单元间的酰胺键被胰蛋白酶切断,荧光分子间距扩大,共振能量转移现象消失,从而导致复合微球在胰蛋白酶存在下释放荧光,荧光释放强度/淬灭强度的比值最高可达18.此外,自组装微球的磁共振显影同样具有胰蛋白酶敏感性,这与组装—解组装过程导致微球内磁性纳米颗粒的局部浓度及聚集状态发生变化有关.细胞和动物实验研究表明,复合微球呈现低细胞毒性,并可特异性地对胰蛋白酶阳性的细胞和组织进行近红外/磁共振双显影,在胰蛋白酶的生物影像学检测中具有潜在的应用前景.

本试验采用双倍试管稀释法,测定大蒜精油分别对高产苯乙胺和酪胺的***和***的最低抑菌浓度(MIC)和最低杀菌浓度(MBC);并利用高效液相色谱法测定不同浓度的大蒜精油对两株高产苯乙胺和酪胺菌株的影响,从而明确大蒜精油对其产生物胺能力的抑制作用。结果表明:大蒜精油对供试菌株都具有较强的抑菌活性,大蒜精油对***的最大抑制率可达48.20%,对***的最大抑制率为52.41%,且抑菌效果随大蒜精油浓度的增大而逐渐增强;在大蒜精油的添加量为1/2 MIC时,大蒜精油对***和***的生长具有抑制作用;当大蒜精油浓度为0.025%时,能够显著(p<0.05)降低供试菌株产苯乙胺和酪胺的含量,苯乙胺含量与空白组相比降低了26.61%,酪胺的降低了15.54%。说明大蒜精油对高产酪胺和苯乙胺的菌株具有显著(p<0.05)抑制效果,从而减少了酪胺和苯乙胺的生成。

Objective To explore and quantify the association of hot night exposure during the sperm development period(0–90 lag days)with semen *** A total of 6,640 male sperm donors from 6 human sperm banks in China during 2014–2020 were recruited in this multicenter *** indices(i.e.,hot night excess[HNE]and hot night duration[HND])were used to estimate the heat intensity and duration during *** mixed models were used to examine the association between hot nights and semen quality *** The exposure-response relationship revealed that HNE and HND during 0–90 days before semen collection had a significantly inverse association with sperm ***,a 1°C increase in HNE was associated with decreased sperm progressive motility of 0.0090(95%confidence interval[CI]:–0.0147,–0.0033)and decreased total motility of 0.0094(95%CI:–0.0160,–0.0029).HND was significantly associated with reduced sperm progressive motility and total motility of 0.0021(95%CI:–0.0040,–0.0003)and 0.0023(95%CI:–0.0043,–0.0002),*** results were observed at different temperature thresholds on hot *** Our findings highlight the need to mitigate nocturnal heat exposure during spermatogenesis to maintain optimal semen quality.

Activity and Stoichiometry of Soil Enzymes in Aggregates of Different Soil Types in Subtropical Forests

To reveal the differences in soil microbial nutrient limitation and nutrient availability at the aggregate scale of soil types in a subtropical forest in China,the O/A horizon(0-3 cm and 0-7 cm,respectively)and AB horizon(below O/A horizon to 20 cm depth)of typical acidic red soil and neutral limestone soil in Northern Guangxi were studied. The activities of carbon-acquiring enzymes(sucrase,amylase,β-1,4-glucosidase(BG)),nitrogen-acquiring enzymes(urease,β-1,4-N-acetyl-glucosaminidase(NAG),leucine amino peptidase(LAP)),and phosphorus-acquiring enzymes(phytase and acid phosphatase(AP))in different aggregate sizes were determined to reveal the variation in soil enzyme stoichiometry characteristics. The results showed that the limestone soil had higher nitrogen-acquiring enzyme activity compared to that in the red soil,with urease,NAG,and LAP activities being 38.84%,123.89%,and 4.06% higher,respectively. The differences in carbon- and phosphorus-acquiring enzyme activities between the two soils were not significant. The overall soil enzyme activities in the O/A horizon were higher than in the AB horizon for both red soil and limestone soil. Soil total organic carbon and pH were identified as key factors influencing soil enzyme activities.
