We sought to examine the regulatory effect of Meteorin-β(Metrnβ)/Meteorin like(Metrnl)/IL-41 on lung inflammation in allergic *** found that Metrnβwas elevated significantly in asthmatic patients and in mice with allergic asthma induced by house dust mite(HDM)*** exposure to HDM,Metrnβwas secreted predominantly by airway epithelial cells and inflammatory cells,including macrophages and *** increased Metrnβeffectively blocked the development of airway hyperreactivity(AHR)and decreased inflammatory cell airway infiltration and type 2 cytokine production,which was associated with downregulated DC-mediated adaptive immune ***,Metrnβimpaired the maturation and function of bone marrow-derived dendritic cells in *** mice adoptively transferred with dendritic cells isolated from Metrnβ-treated allergic mice displayed decreased AHR,airway inflammation,and lung ***βalso displayed anti-inflammatory properties in immunodeficient SCID mice with allergic asthma and in in vitro 3D ALI airway ***,blockade of Metrnβby anti-Metrnβantibody treatment promoted the development of allergic *** results revealed the unappreciated protective roles of Metrnβin alleviating DC-mediated Th2 inflammation in allergic asthma,providing the novel treatment strategy of therapeutic targeting of Metrnβin allergic asthma.

Background:We evaluated factors associated with eczema severity in ***:Nottingham Eczema Severity Score(NESS),family and personal history of atopy,skin prick test for common food and aeroallergens,highest serum IgE level and eosinophil count were *** with paired NESSs(childhood-NESS is NESS performed at10 years)were further ***:Adolescence-NESS(n=383 patients)was associated with eczema onset in infancy,dust mite and food allergen sensitization,dietary avoidance,use of wet wrap,traditional Chinese medicine,immunomodulant(azathioprine or cyclosporine),high IgE level,eosinophil count,but not with family/personal history of ***-two patients had both childhood-NESS and adolescence-NESS(mean follow-up of 6.8 years)showing that adolescence-NESS was associated with childhood-NESS severity grades(P=0.034).Of these patients,48%remained in the same severity grades,whereas 39%improved,and 13%deteriorated from childhood to ***:It is not possible to assure parents that their child can outgrow *** eczema prognosis research,long-term follow-up is warranted.

Background Asthma is a significant chronic health problem worldwide. Management aims at disease control by reducing functional impairment and exacerbations and improving quality of life (QoL). We report a multi-center study to survey asthma control and QoL in four cities in the Pearl River Delta. Methods The conjoint survey involved ten Hong Kong pediatric hospitals/units, two Shenzhen hospitals, two Macao hos-pitals, and two Guangzhou hospitals on asthma control (using Asthma Control Test) and QoL (Pediatric Allergic Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire, PADQLQ). Acceptability of a treatment is graded as very good/good/fair/poor. Results Good asthma control was only reported in 80% subjects in Hong Kong, but higher in sister cities (85–94%, P<0.001). Allergic rhinitis, 'incense burning', and 'smoker in family' were prevalent among the four cities. Logistic regres-sion showed better control of asthma was associated with better PADQLQ (B=?0.029, P < 0.001), better acceptability of bronchodilator (B=?1.488, P = 0.025), negatively with 'smoker in family' (B=?0.83, P = 0.015) and various PADQLQ domains. Conversely, worse PADQLQ was associated with allergic rhinitis severity (B=4.77, P <0.001), poor control of asthma (B=7.56, P <0.001), increased frequency of traditional Chinese medicine use (B=1.7, P < 0.05), increased fre-quency of bronchodilator usage (B=1.05, P < 0.05), 'smoker in family' (B=4.05, P < 0.05), and incense burning at home (B=3.9, P < 0.05). Conclusions There are some clinical and cultural differences among the four southern Chinese cities within the Guangdong province. This study identifies potentially modifiable environmental and treatment factors associated with poor asthma control and QoL for health-care interventions. Having a smoker in the family is independently associated with poor asthma control and QoL.

A H_(2)O_(2)etching strategy was adopted to introduce coordinatively unsaturated sites(CUS)on MoS_(2)-based catalysts for dibenzothiophene(DBT)hydrodesulfurization(HDS).The CUS concentrations on MoS_(2) slabs were finely regulated by changing the concentrations of H_(2)O_(2)*** the increasing H_(2)O_(2)concentrations(0.1–0.3 mol/L),The CUS concentrations on MoS_(2) slabs increased ***,the high-concentration H_(2)O_(2)etching(0.5 mol/L)increased the MoOxSy and MoO_(3) contents on MoS_(2) slabs compared to etching with the H_(2)O_(2)concentration of 0.3 mol/L,which led to the less CUS concentration in the sulfided Mo–H-0.5 catalyst than in the sulfided Mo–H-0.3 catalyst.A microstructure-activity correlation indicated that the CUS introduced by H_(2)O_(2)etching on MoS_(2) slabs significantly enhanced DBT *** Co loadings were further introduced into Mo–H-0.3,which had the most CUS concentration,and the corresponding 0.2-CoMo catalyst with the highest CoMoS content(3.853 wt%)exhibited the highest reaction rate constant of 6.95×10^(−6)mol g^(−1)s^(−1)among these CoMo catalysts.

Achromatic metalens composed of arrays of subwavelength nanostructures with spatially varying geometries is attractivefor a number of optical applications. However, the limited degree of freedom in the single layer achromatic metasurfacedesign makes it difficult to simultaneously guarantee the sufficient phase dispersion and high diffraction efficiency,which restricts the achromatic bandwidth and efficiency of metalens. Here we propose and demonstrate a high efficiencyachromatic metalens with diffraction-limited focusing capability at the wavelength ranging from 1000 nm to 1700 nm. Themetalens comprises two stacked nanopillar metasurfaces, by which the required focusing phase and dispersion compensationcan be controlled independently. As a result, in addition to the large achromatic bandwidth, the averaged focusingefficiency of the bilayer metalens is higher than 64% at the near-infrared region. Our design opens up the possibilityto obtain the required phase dispersion and efficiency simultaneously, which is of great significance to design broadbandmetasurface-based optical devices.

In 1991, Hornik proved that the collection of single hidden layer feedforward neural net- works （SLFNs） with continuous, bounded, and non-constant activation function a is dense in C（K） where K is a compact set in Rs （see Neural Networks, 4（2）, 251-257 （1991））. Meanwhile, he pointed out ＂Whether or not the continuity assumption can entirely be dropped is still an open quite challenging problem＂. This paper replies in the affirmative to the problem and proves that for bounded and continuous almost everywhere （a.e.） activation function σ on R, the collection of SLFNs is dense in C（K） if and only if a is un-constant a.e..
