In a tandem.wing configuration, the hindwing of- ten operates in the wake of the forewing and, hence, its per- form.nce is affected by the vortices shed by the forewing. Changes in the phase angle between the flapping m.tions of the fore and the hind wings, as well as the spacing between them. can affect the resulting vortex/wing and vortex/vortex interactions. This study uses 2D num.rical sim.lations to in- vestigate how these changes affect the leading dege vortexes （LEV） generated by the hindwing and the resulting effect on the lift and thrust coefficients as well as the efficiencies. The tandem.wing configuration was sim.lated using an incom. pressible Navier-Stokes solver at a chord-based Reynolds num.er of 5 000. A harm.nic single frequency sinusoidal oscillation consisting of a com.ined pitch and plunge m.tion was used for the flapping wing kinem.tics at a Strouhal num. ber of 0.3. Four different spacings ranging from.0.1 chords to 1 chord were tested at three different phase angles, 0°, 90° and 180°. It was found that changes in the spacing and phase angle affected the tim.ng of the interaction between the vor- tex shed from.the forewing and the hindwing. Such an inter- action affects the LEV form.tion on the hindwing and results in changes in aerodynam.c force production and efficiencies of the hindwing. It is also observed that changing the phase angle has a sim.lar effect as changing the spacing. The re- suits further show that at different spacings the peak force generation occurs at different phase angles, as do the peak efficiencies.

Earth is the only planet known to be habitable,and is also unique with its liquid water,and the operation of plate *** geological record shows that the habitability of our planet can rapidly recover from.m.jor disasters or catastrophes,even those that cause m.ss *** suggest that plate tectonics,which acts as a link between the shallow and deep,is pivotal for the form.tion,evolution,and long-term.stability of the hydrosphere,atm.sphere,lithosphere,and thus *** tectonics links the surface environm.nt with the deep interior of high viscosity,low Reynolds num.er,low entropy,and low chaos,able to produce a strong healing effect to neutralize catastrophic *** can transfer the bio-essential elem.nts from.the deep interior to the near-surface environm.nt and can recycle toxic elem.nts to the *** unique planetary energy and m.terial transfer process of Earth is a continuous,slow-release,and bidirectional cycle,where a change in the surface is slowly buffered by a reaction from.the deep,shaping a long-term.and stable habitable ***,it is considered that plate tectonics is the basic condition for the long-term.stable evolution of the Earth’s biosphere and the stabilizer of the Earth’s habitability.

Activated carbon nanofibers(ACNFs)with sm.ll diam.ter can significantly increase the accessibility of intra pores and accelerate adsorption of m.lecules from.*** this study,ACNFs were m.de by blending K_(2)CO_(3)or ZnCl_(2)as the activating agent into the polyacrylonitrile(PAN)in dim.thylform.m.de solution for electrospinning prior to ***-A(BPA),an endocrine disruption pollutant,is widely applied in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy ***,BPA is often used as a m.del contam.nant com.only rem.ved via *** adsorption studies were used to evaluate the kinetics and adsorption capacity of the ***-Peterson(R-P)and Langm.ir m.dels were found to fit the isotherm.of BPA adsorption better than Freundlich m.del,showing the hom.geneous nature of the PAN originated *** adsorption kinetics was better described by the pseudo second-order m.del than that by the pseudo first-order *** fitting by intraparticle diffusion m.del indicates the adsorption of BPA onto ACNFs is m.inly controlled by pore *** pH value and ionic strength reduced BPA adsorption from.aqueous *** breakthrough curves studied in two different fixed bed system.(cross flow bed system.and packed flow bed system.confirm.d the scalability of BPA rem.val by ACNFs in dynam.c adsorption *** m.dified dose-response m.del predicted well the fixed-bed outlet concentration profiles.
