High-efficiently doping nitrogen in kapok fiber-derived hard carbon used as anode materials for boosting rate performance of sodium-ion batteries

The engineering of plant-based precursor for nitrogen doping has become one of the most promising strategies to enhance rate capability of hard carbon materials for sodium-ion batteries;however,the poor rate performance is mainly caused by lack of pyridine nitrogen,which often tends to escape because of high temperature in preparation process of hard *** this paper,a high-rate kapok fiber-derived hard carbon is fabricated by cross-linking carboxyl group in 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid with the exposed hydroxyl group on alkalized kapok with assistance of zinc ***,a high nitrogen doping content of 4.24%is achieved,most of which are pyridine nitrogen;this is crucial for improving the defect sites and electronic conductivity of hard *** optimized carbon with feature of high nitrogen content,abundant functional groups,degree of disorder,and large layer spacing exhibits high capacity of 401.7 mAh g^(−1)at a current density of 0.05 A g^(−1),and more importantly,good rate performance,for example,even at the current density of 2 A g^(−1),a specific capacity of 159.5 mAh g^(−1)can be *** findings make plant-based hard carbon a promising candidate for commercial application of sodium-ion batteries,achieving high-rate performance with the enhanced pre-cross-linking interaction between plant precursors and dopants to optimize aromatization process by auxiliary pyrolysis.

Electrochemical oxidation of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances: Mechanisms, implications, and challenges

Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances(PFASs) have recently gained considerable attention due to their potential risks to human health and ecosystems. The response to these concerns has led to regulations and bans on legacy PFASs, such as perfluorooctanoic acid and perfluorooctane sulfonic acid. Thus, fluoride production has shifted toward short-chain PFASs and emerging fluorinated alternatives. Several technologies are available for PFAS degradation, among which electrochemical oxidation(EO) is a promising method to mineralize legacy PFASs and other emerging fluorinated alternatives in water *** review provides an overview of the recent advancements in EO, comprehensively elucidating PFAS degradation mechanisms at the anode and exploring key factors that influence PFAS removal efficiency, such as anode materials as well as reactor designs and configurations. Moreover, the review elucidates the impact of operating conditions and parameters, including current density, electrolytes, pH, initial PFAS concentrations, and other coexisting pollutants, on the EO process. Finally, the constraints in the EO process are discussed when considering practical implementations, including undesired by-product generation, incomplete mineralization resulting in the accumulation of short-chain PFASs, and low PFAS concentrations in the natural environment leading to mass transfer limitations and low defluorination efficiency. Consequently, this review provides a perspective on potential solutions integrating the pre-concentration steps and EO process for effective PFAS remediation.

Recycling the spent electronic materials to construct a highperformance Cu_(1.94)S/ZnS heterostructure anode of sodium-ion batteries

Heterostructure engineering by coupling different nanocrystals has received extensive attention because it can enhance the reaction kinetics of the anode of sodium-ion batteries(SIBs).However,constructing high-quality heterostructure anode materials through green and environmentally friendly methods remains a ***,we have proposed a simple one-step method by recycling the electronic waste metal materials to synthesize the Cu_(1.94)S/ZnS heterostructure *** with the experimental analysis and first principle calculations,we find that the synergistic effect of different components in heterostructure structures can significantly enhance the reversible capacity and rate performance of anode *** on the constructed Cu_(1.94)S/ZnS anode,we obtain a superior reversible capacity of 440 mAh·g^(-1) at 100 mA·g^(-1) and 335 mAh·g^(-1) after 3000 cycles at 2000 mA·g^(-1).Our work sheds new light on designing high-rate and capacity anodes for SIBs through the greenness synthesis method.

Force-position collaborative optimization of rope-driven snake manipulator for capturing non-cooperative space targets

With the rapid development of space activities, non-cooperative space targets increase swiftly, such as failed satellites and upper stages, threating normal spacecrafts seriously. As there are some problems in the capture process, such as excessive collision and fast tumbling of targets, manipulator with redundant Degrees of Freedom (DOFs) can be used to improve the compliance and therefore solve these problems. The Rope-Driven Snake Manipulator (RDSM) is a combination of hyper-redundant DOFs and better compliance, and therefore it is suitable for capturing mission. In this paper, a snake manipulator mechanism is designed, and the complete kinematic model and system dynamic model considering RDSM, target and contact is established. Then, to obtain the configuration of joint with hyper-redundant DOFs, an improved motion dexterity index is proposed as the joint motion optimization target. Besides, the force-position collaborative optimization index is designed to adjust active stiffness, and the impedance control method based on the modified index is used to capture the space target. Finally, the proposed force-position collaborative optimization method is verified by virtual prototype co-simulation. The results demonstrate that based on the proposed method, the collision force is reduced by about 25% compared to normal impedance control, showing higher safety. Conceptual design and configurations selection of S/H-UAVs based on Q-rung dual hesitant double layer FQFD

For the conceptual design phase of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), a process for conceptual design and configuration selection of Solar/Hydrogen powered UAVs (S/H-UAVs) is proposed. The design requirements of S/H-UAVs were analyzed firstly. The proposed process used Fuzzy Quality Function Deployment (FQFD) to establish logical and quantitative standards. Moreover, in order to appropriately describe the hesitancy of experts while making decision, it used Q-Rung Dual Hesitant Fuzzy Sets (QRDHFS) to score the correlationships. In addition, a decisionmaking framework is proposed to perform a logical selection of typical layouts based on defuzzification method and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The present process has been applied for S/H-UAVs. The resulting set of design requirements consists of three categories: Mission Requirements (MRs), Engineering Characteristics (ECs) and Technical Indicators (TIs). Four typical layouts of S/H-UAVs were sorted and determined. The performance of four typical layouts were evaluated and the Strut-Braced Wing (SBW) with external hydrogen storage was selected as the best layout for S/H-UAVs. Data-driven rational design of single-atom materials for hydrogen evolution and sensing

Herein we proposed a data-driven high-throughput principle to screen high-performance single-atom materials for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and hydrogen sensing by combing the theoretical computations and a topology-based multi-scale convolution kernel machine learning *** the rational training by 25 groups of data and prediction of all 168 groups of single-atom materials for HER and sensing,respectively,a high prediction accuracy(>0.931 R^(2) score)was achieved by our *** show that the promising HER catalysts include Pt atoms in C_(4) and Sc atoms in C_(1)N_(3) coordination ***,Y atoms in C_(4) coordination environment and Cd atoms in C_(2)N_(2)-ortho coordination environment were predicted with great potential as hydrogen sensing *** method provides a way to accelerate the discovery of innovative materials by avoiding the time-consuming empirical principles in experiments.
