Recently,triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs)have been promoted as an effective technique for ambient energy harvesting,given their large power density and high energy conversion ***,traditional TENGs based on the combination of triboelectrification effect and electrostatic induction have proven susceptible to environmental influence,which intensively restricts their application ***,a new coupling mechanism based on electrostatic induction and ion conduction is proposed to construct flexible stable output performance TENGs(SOP-TENGs).The calcium chloride doped-cellulose nanofibril(CaCl_(2)-CNF)film made of natural carrots was successfully introduced to realize this coupling,resulting from its intrinsic properties as natural nanofibril hydrogel serving as both triboelectric layer and *** coupling of two conductive mechanisms of SOP-TENG was comprehensively investigated through electrical measurements,including the effects of moisture content,relative humidity,and electrode *** contrast to the conventional hydrogel ionotronic TENGs that require moisture as the carrier for ion transfer and use a hydrogel layer as the electrode,the use of a CaCl_(2)-CNF film(i.e.,ion-doped natural hydrogel layer)as a friction layer in the proposed SOP-TENG effectively realizes a superstable electrical output under varying moisture contents and relative humidity due to the compound transfer mechanism of ions and *** new working principle based on the coupling of electrostatic induction and ion conduction opens a wider range of applications for the hydrogel ionotronic TENGs,as the superstable electrical output enables them to be more widely applied in various complex environments to supply energy for low-power electronic devices.

IM To analyze serum bile acids and biliary lipids of patients with cholesterol gallstone(CS) and explore the relationship between deoxycholic acid (DCA) and CS disease.METHODS Analysis of bile acids in serum was done with gaschromatography in two groups: CS group (n=151) and control group (n=256). Serum bile acids and biliary lipids were also studied in 90 matched samples..RESULTS The serum DCA was 0955μmol/L±0078μmol/L in CS group, which was more than that of control group (0696μmol/L±0047μmol/L), P<001. The ratio of DCA/chenodeoxycholic acids (CDCA) was 176±030 in CS group, about two times that in control group (092±014). The mole percent of DCA in bile was positively related to cholesterol saturation index (CSI) (P<001) and the mole percent of CDCA in bile negatively to CSI (P=001). There was correlation between the mole percent of DCA, CDCA and cholic acid in bile and in serum.CONCLUSION It is suggested that DCA is lithogenic and the increased amount of DCA or the ratio of DCA/CDCA in serum may be one of the features of cholesterol gallstone patients.

Palladium(Pd) nanostructures are highly promising electrocatalysts for the carbon dioxide electrochemical reduction(CO_(2) ER). At present, it is still challenge for the synthesis of Pd nanostructures with high activity, selectivity and stability. In this work, a facile PdII-complex pyrolysis method is applied to synthesize the high-quality one-dimensional heterostructured Pd/Pd O nanowires(Pd/Pd O H-NWs).The as-prepared Pd/Pd O H-NWs have a large electrochemically active surface area, abundant defects and Pd/Pd O heterostructure. Electrochemical measurement results reveal that Pd/Pd O H-NWs exhibit up to 94% CO Faraday efficiency with a current density of 11.6 m A cm^(-2) at an applied potential of -0.8 V. Meanwhile, Pd/Pd O H-NWs can achieve a stable catalytic process of 12 h for CO_(2) ER. Such outstanding CO_(2) ER performance of Pd/Pd O H-NWs has also been verified in the flow cell test. The density functional theory calculations indicate that Pd/Pd O heterostructure can significantly weaken the CO adsorption on Pd sites, which improves the CO tolerance and consequently enhances the catalytic performance of Pd/Pd O H-NWs for CO_(2) ER. This work highlights a facile complex pyrolysis strategy for the synthesis of Pd-based CO_(2) ER catalysts and provides a new application instance of metal/metal oxide heterostructure in electrocatalysis.

Orphan genes are genes with no sequence homologues in other species. Here, we identified two orphan genes, namely, Tssor-3 and Tssor-4, in Plutella xylostella. Both genes contained a signal peptide sequence, suggesting their functions as secreted proteins. Expression pattern analysis based on real-time quantitative PCR(qPCR) showed that both orphan genes were specifically expressed in all male gonads except the testes. The expression of both the orphan genes peaked at the male adult stage. Immunofluorescence assays suggested that the two proteins were seminal proteins, indicating their potential roles in male reproductive regulation. To further explain their functions, we knocked down the expression of these two genes by RNA interference(RNAi). The results showed that the expression of Tssor-3 and Tssor-4 was significantly downregulated at 24 h after injection compared to that of the controls. Biological assays showed that the number of laid eggs and the hatching rate of offspring eggs were significantly reduced when the expression of Tssor-3 and Tssor-4 was reduced, suggesting that the two orphan genes played a role in male fertility in P. xylostella. Our results provide evidence that orphan genes are involved in male reproductive regulation, which is important for male fitness during evolution.

BACKGROUND Complicated crown–root fracture (CRF) involves severe injury to the crown, root,and pulp, and may be accompanied by multiple root fractures. The loss of a toothhas lifelong consequences for children and teenagers, but the maintenance of pulphealth and the calcific healing of multiple root fractures are rarely reported in *** SUMMARY This case reports healing of a permanent tooth with complicated crown–root andadditional root fractures, in which pulp health was maintained. A 10-year-old girlfell and fractured the root of her maxillary left central incisor at the cervical *** the coronal fragment was repositioned, the tooth was splinted until thetooth was no longer mobile, 2 years later. Eight years after treatment, the toothhas remained asymptomatic with vital pulp and localized gingival ***-beam computed tomography revealed not only calcified healing of the CRFbut also spontaneous healing in an additional undiagnosed root fracture. Thefracture line on the enamel could not be healed by hard tissue and formed agroove in the cervical crown. It was speculated that the groove was related to thelocalized gingival *** This case provides a clinical perspective of the treatment of a tooth with acomplicated CRF and an additional root fracture.

As an important component of cryospheric provisioning services, freshwater provisioning services of the cryosphere is particularly critical to human well-being and socio-economic sustainability. It is imperative to quantitatively estimate the value of freshwater provisioning services to facilitate informed decision-making for ecosystem management and economic development. This study assessed the economic value and associated changes in benefits of freshwater provisioning services for industrial, agricultural, services and domestic water uses combining cost-based method and hydrological model in the Urumqi River during 2010–2016. The results showed that the average annual economic value of agricultural, services, domestic and industrial water uses generated from freshwater provisioning services were estimated to be 1.7, 4.4, 9.9, and 15.7 million CNY. The annual value of snowmelt provisioning services of sectorial water uses was much higher than that of glacier meltwater due to the greater contribution of snowmelt to outlet streamflow than glacier melt. The relative contributions of agricultural, services, domestic and industrial sectors to total economic value of freshwater provisioning services were 6%, 13%, 32%, and 49% respectively, depending on the meltwater supply and market prices. The benefits of freshwater provisioning services from different sectors generally increased in 2010–2016, with a significant increase in the services sector. Considering the impact of changes in freshwater supply under climate change on the assessment of cryospheric provisioning services, the results emphasize the necessity of promoting industrial structure optimization and adopting resource-efficient policies.

A microcalorimetric study on molecular recognition of p-sulfonatocalix[4]arene derivatives at selfassembled interface in comparison with in bulk water was performed,inspired by the dramatic change in physicochemical characteristics from bulk water to interface.A total of six cationic molecules were screened as model guests,including ammonium（NH_4~＋）,guanidinium（Gdm~＋）.N,N＇-dimethyl-1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane（DMDABCO^（2＋））,tropylium（Tpm~＋）,N-methyl pyridinium（N-mPY＊） and methyl viologen（MV^（2＋））.The complexation with NH_4~＋.Gdm~＋ and DMDABCO2＊ is pronouncedly enhanced when the recognition process moved from bulk water to interface,whereas the complexation stabilities with Tpm~＋,N-mPY~＋ and MV2＊ increase slightly or even decrease to some extent.A more interesting phenomenon arises from the NH_4~＋/Gdm~＋ pair that the thermodynamic origin at interface differs definitely from each other although with similar association *** results were discussed in terms of differential driving forces,electrostatic,hydrogen bond as well as π-stacking interactions,originating from the unique physicochemical features of interfaces,mainly the polarity and dielectric constant.

Construction of Two Suppression Subtractive Hybridization Libraries and Identification of Salt-Induced Genes in Soybean

Soybean is planted worldwide and its productivity is significantly hampered by salinity. Development of salt tolerant cultivars is necessary for promoting soybean production. Despite wealth of information generated on salt tolerance mechanism, its basics still remain elusive. A continued effort is needed to understand the salt tolerance mechanism in soybean using suitable molecular tools. To better understand the molecular basis of the responses of soybean to salt stress and to get an enrichment of critical salt stress responsive genes in soybean, suppression subtractive hybridization libraries （SSH） are constructed for the root tissue of two cultivated soybean genotypes, one was tolerant and the other was sensitive to salt stress. To compare the responses of plants in salt treatment and non-treatment, SSH1 was constructed for the salt-tolerant cultivar wenfeng 7 and SSH2 was constructed for the salt-sensitive cultivar Union. From the two SSH cDNA libraries, a total of 379 high quality ESTs were obtained. These ESTs were then annotated by performing sequence similarity searches against the NCBI nr （National Center for Biotechnology Information protein non-redundant） database using the BLASTX program. Sixty-three genes from SSH1 and 49 genes from SSH2 could be assigned putative function. On the other hand, 25 ESTs of SSH1 which may be not the salt tolerance-related genes were removed by comparing and analyzing the ESTs from the two S SH libraries, which increased the proportion of the genes related to salt tolerance in S SH 1. These results suggested that the novel way could realize low background of SSH and high level enrichment of target cDNAs to some extent.
