Urea-assisted natural seawater electrolysis is an emerging technology that is effective for grid-scale carbon-neutral hydrogen mass production yet *** scaling relations is an effective strategy to break through the bottleneck of natural seawater ***,by DFT calculation,we demonstrated that the interface boundaries between Ni_(2)P and MoO_(2) play an essential role in the selfrelaxation of the Ni-O interfacial bond,effectively modulating a coordination number of intermediates to control independently their adsorption-free energy,thus circumventing the adsorption-energy scaling *** this conceptual model,a well-defined 3D F-doped Ni_(2)P-MoO_(2) heterostructure microrod array was rationally designed via an interfacial engineering strategy toward urea-assisted natural seawater *** a result,the F-Ni_(2)P-MoO_(2) exhibits eminently active and durable bifunctional catalysts for both HER and OER in acid,alkaline,and alkaline sea water-based *** in-situ analysis,we found that a thin amorphous layer of NiOOH,which is evolved from the Ni_(2)P during anodic reaction,is real catalytic active sites for the OER and UOR ***,such electrode-assembled urea-assisted natural seawater electrolyzer requires low voltages of 1.29 and 1.75 V to drive 10 and600 mA cm^(-2)and demonstrates superior durability by operating continuously for 100 h at 100 mA cm^(-2),beyond commercial Pt/C||RuO_(2) and most previous reports.

In multimodal learning, Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have become a critical research focus, enabling the integration of textual and visual data. These models have shown significant promise across various natural language processing tasks, such as visual question answering and computer vision applications, including image captioning and image-text retrieval, highlighting their adaptability for complex, multimodal datasets. In this work, we review the landscape of Bootstrapping Language-Image Pre-training (BLIP) and other VLM techniques. A comparative analysis is conducted to assess VLMs’ strengths, limitations, and applicability across tasks while examining challenges such as scalability, data quality, and fine-tuning complexities. The work concludes by outlining potential future directions in VLM research, focusing on enhancing model interpretability, addressing ethical implications, and advancing multimodal integration in real-world applications.

BACKGROUND Tacrolimus(TAC)is metabolized primarily by the CYP3A-encoded enzyme family(CYP3A4,CYP3A5,and CYP3A7).Individuals expressing the CYP3A51 allele are considered fast metabolizers and generally require higher TAC doses to reach therapeutic *** To evaluate the predictive value of the TAC concentration-to-dose(C0/D)ratio for identifying CYP3A5 poly-morphisms in renal transplant *** Eighty-six de novo kidney transplant recipients with TAC-based immunosuppression from the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis at Military Hospital 103(Hanoi,Vietnam)were included in this retrospective *** samples were collected within the first week post-transplantation to monitor TAC levels and to perform genotyping for CYP3A5 genetic *** The CYP3A53/3 genotype was identified in 37 patients(43%),CYP3A51/3 in 40 patients(46.5%),and CYP3A51/1 in 9 patients(10.5%).Patients carrying the CYP3A51/3 or CYP3A51/1 genotype,classified as fast metabolizers(CYP3A5 expressers),had significantly lower TAC C0 concentrations and C0/D ratios compared to slow meta-bolizers(CYP3A53/3 genotype)at multiple time points during follow-up(all Ptransplant recipients in Vietnam and other low-income countries.

Predicting shear strength of slender beams without reinforcement using hybrid gradient boosting trees and optimization algorithms

Shear failure of slender reinforced concrete beams without stirrups has surely been a complicated occurrence that has proven challenging to adequately *** primary purpose of this work is to develop machine learning models capable of reliably predicting the shear strength of non-shear-reinforced slender beams(SB).A database encompassing 1118 experimental findings from the relevant literature was compiled,containing eight distinct *** Boosting(GB)technique was developed and evaluated in combination with three different optimization algorithms,namely Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO),Random Annealing Optimization(RA),and Simulated Annealing Optimization(SA).The findings suggested that GB-SA could deliver strong prediction results and effectively generalizes the connection between the input and output *** values and two-dimensional PDP analysis were then carried *** may use the findings in this work to define beam’s geometrical components and material used to achieve the desired shear strength of SB without reinforcement.

Investigating natural-inspired applications is a perennially appealing subject for scientists. The current increase in the speed of natural-origin structure growth may be linked to their superior mechanical properties and environmental resilience. Biological composite structures with helicoidal schemes and designs have remarkable capacities to absorb impact energy and withstand damage. However, there is a dearth of extensive study on the influence of fiber redirection and reorientation inside the matrix of a helicoid structure on its mechanical performance and reactivity. The present study aimed to explore the static and transient responses of a bio-inspired helicoid laminated composite(B-iHLC) shell under the influence of an explosive load using an isomorphic method. The structural integrity of the shell is maintained by a viscoelastic basis known as the Pasternak foundation, which encompasses two coefficients of stiffness and one coefficient of damping. The equilibrium equations governing shell dynamics are obtained by using Hamilton's principle and including the modified first-order shear theory,therefore obviating the need to employ a shear correction factor. The paper's model and approach are validated by doing numerical comparisons with respected publications. The findings of this study may be used in the construction of military and civilian infrastructure in situations when the structure is subjected to severe stresses that might potentially result in catastrophic collapse. The findings of this paper serve as the foundation for several other issues, including geometric optimization and the dynamic response of similar mechanical structures.

Anti-inflammatory effects of fatty acids isolated from Chromolaena odorata

Objective:To identify inhibitors of nitric oxide production and NF-κB activity from Chromolaena odorata（***）.Methods:The compounds isolated from the aerial parts of *** by bioassay-guided fractionation were investigated for their inhibitory effects on the NO production and NF-κB activity in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 ***:Six fatty acids （S）-coriolic acid（1）,（S）-coriolic acid methyl ester（2）,（5）-15,16-didehydrocoriolic acid（3）,（S）- 15,16-didehydrocoriolic acid methyl ester（4）,linoleamide（5） and linolenamide（6） were isolated. All compounds inhibited the NO production at concentrations consistent with those required for NF-κB *** 2 was the most active with the IC50 values of 5.22 and 5.73μM. The addition of a double bond in the fatty chain decreased the inhibitory effects while the methyl esterification increased the ***:The fatty acid components in *** with NF-κB inhibitory activity could explain the anti-inflammation property of this plant in traditional *** study could also contribute to the better use of *** for human health care.

In this paper,we propose a Two-Way Cognitive Relay Network(TWCRN)where the secondary users operate on an underlay mode to access the licensed *** the proposed protocols,two secondary sources transmit their data to a relay in the first time slot,and then the relay would forward the received information to both sources in the remaining ***,the relay is self-powered by harvesting energy from ambient Radio Frequency(RF)signals,using the Time Switching(TS)and the Power Switching(PS)*** paper concentrates on eval-uating the performance of the secondary networks under the impact of hardware impairments and co-channel interference from the primary *** particular,based on the secondary transmitters'constraint power,we derive the closed-form expressions of the outage probability and the throughput over Rayleigh fading channels in two cases:TS and *** also investigate the energy efficiency issue and the locally optimal position of the relay to maximize the system throughput,which provides much information to install the relay ***,our derivations are verified by Monte Carlo simulation.

Assessment of different machine learning techniques in predicting the compressive strength of self-compacting concrete

The compressive strength of self-compacting concrete(SCC)needs to be determined during the construction design *** paper shows that the compressive strength of SCC(CS of SCC)can be successfully predicted from mix design and curing age by a machine learning(ML)technique named the Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGB)algorithm,including non-hybrid and hybrid *** ML techniques,such as Linear regression(LR),K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN),Support Vector Machine(SVM),Decision Trees(DTR),Random Forest(RF),Gradient Boosting(GB),and Artificial Neural Network using two training algorithms LBFGS and SGD(denoted as ANN_LBFGS and ANN_SGD),are also compared with the XGB ***,the hybrid models of eight ML techniques and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)are constructed to highlight the reliability and accuracy of SCC compressive strength prediction by the XGB_PSO hybrid *** highest number of SCC samples available in the literature is collected for building the ML *** with previously published works’performance,the proposed XGB method,both hybrid and non-hybrid models,is the most reliable and robust of the examined techniques,and is more accurate than existing ML methods(R2=0.9644,RMSE=4.7801,and MAE=3.4832).Therefore,the XGB model can be used as a practical tool for engineers in predicting the CS of SCC.

Environmental pollution,such as water contamination,is a critical issue that must be absolutely ***,three different morphologies of tungsten-based photocatalysts(WO_(3)nanorods,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanobricks,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods)are made using a simple hydrothermal method by changing the solvents(H_(2)O,DMF,aqueous HCl solution).The as-prepared nanocatalysts have excellent thermal stability,large porosity,and high *** results show all materials have good photocatalytic activity in aqueous media,with WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods(NRs)having the best activity in the photodegradation of bisphenol A(BPA)under visible-light *** may originate from increased migration of charge carriers and effective prevention of electron–hole recombination in WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs,whereby this photocatalyst is able to generate more reactive·OH and·O_(2)^(–)species,leading to greater photocatalytic *** 99.6% of BPA is photodegraded within 60 min when using 1.5 g/L WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs and 5.0 mg/L BPA at pH ***,the optimal conditions(pH,catalyst dosage,initial BPA concentration)for WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs are also elaborately *** rod-like heterostructures are expressed as potential catalysts with excellent photostability,efficient reusability,and highly active effectivity in different types of *** particular,the removal efficiency of BPA by WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs reduces by only 1.5% after five recycling runs and even reaches 89.1%in contaminated lake *** study provides promising insights for the nearly complete removal of BPA from wastewater or different water resources,which is advantageous to various applications in environmental remediation.

3-dimension(3-D)printing technology is growing strongly with many applications,one of which is the garment *** application of human body models to the garment industry is necessary to respond to the increasing personalization demand and still guarantee *** paper proposes amethod to construct 3-D human models by applying deep *** calculate the location of the main slices of the human body,including the neck,chest,belly,buttocks,and the rings of the extremities,using pre-existing ***,on the positioning frame,we find the key points(fixed and unaltered)of these key slices and update these points tomatch the current *** add points to a star slice,we use a deep learning model tomimic the form of the human body at that slice *** use interpolation to produce sub-slices of different body sections based on the main slices to create complete body parts *** combine all slices to construct a full 3-D representation of the human body.
