Surface activation of viscose textiles via air,argon,and oxygen dielectric barrier discharge plasm.:influence of peak voltage

This paper discusses the use of atm.spheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge(DBD)plasm. treatm.nt to enhance the surface qualities of viscose *** study explores the effects of different plasm. gases,discharge voltages,and exposure tim.s on the treated *** findings em.hasize the im.ortance of optim.zing the plasm.'s peak voltage to achieve the desired surface treatm.nt *** docum.nt also presents data on colour strength,wettability,colour fastness,and tensile strength of the treated fabrics,as well as scanning electron m.croscopy(sem)analysis of surface m.rphology and chem.cal analysis using fouriertransition infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and energy dispersive X-ray(EDX).The results show that treatm.nt at a peak voltage of 11.83 k V is m.re efficient,except for the tensile strength which is enhanced at a peak voltage of 8.92 k *** oxygen plasm. treatm.nt significantly im.roves the colour strength,which exhibits an increase from.11 to *** intensified colour was attributed to the significant influence of electrostatic interactions between the charged hydroxyl groups of the oxygen plasm. treated viscose textiles and the dye m.lecules,which enhance the *** oxygen DBD plasm. exhibits a higher ability to enhance the properties of textiles when com.ared to air and argon *** study presents a sustainable,econom.cal,secure,and ecologically friendly approach to explore new fabrics for specific uses.

Utilization of RNA sequencing to investigate olfactory dysfunction in chronic rhinosinusitis without nasal polyps:A pilot study

Objectives:Prior research on olfactory dysfunction in chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS)has focused on patients with polyps and suggests that direct inflam.ation of the olfactory cleft m.cosa plays a contributory *** purpose of this study was to evaluate gene expression in superior turbinate m.cosal specim.ns,com.aring norm.sm.c and dysosm.c CRS patients without polyps(CRSsNP).m.thods:Tissue sam.les were obtained from.the superior turbinates of patients with CRSsNP at the tim. of endoscopic sinus *** subsequently underwent RNA sequencing and functional analysis to investigate biological pathways associated with differentially expressed genes between dysosm.c(n=7)and norm.sm.c(n=4)***:Differential gene expression analysis com.aring dysosm.c and norm.sm.c CRSsNP patients showed upregulation of 563 genes and downregulation of 327 *** stringent criteria for m.ltiple com.arisons,one upregulated gene(Im.ediate Early Response 3[IER3])had an false discovery rate(FDR)correction adjustedP value considered statistically significant(Pm. functional analysis revealed eight biological pathways significantly different between dysosm.c and norm.sm.c patients(Pm.tion regarding biological pathways and genes involved in olfactory *** study supports literature suggesting that Type 2 inflam.ation m.y play a role in olfactory dysfunction in at least som. patients with *** study also prom.ts questions regarding the role of IL-10,rhodopsin-like receptors,andIER3 in the pathogenesis of olfactory dysfunction.

Sim.ltaneous Adsorption of Aqueous Pb2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, and Cd2+ Using Surfactant-m.dified and Unm.dified Activated Carbon in a Fixed Bed Colum.

The goal of this work is to im.rove the sim.ltaneous rem.val of Pb2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, and Cd2+ ions from.synthetic wastewater in a fixed bed colum. by incorporating sodium.dodecyl sulfate (SDS) onto the surface of activated carbon m.de from.coconut shells. The activated carbons were characterized using Fourier transform.infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scanning electron m.croscopy-energy dispersive x-ray (sem-EDX). The adsorption colum. dynam.cs were studied by varying the flow rates (5, 10 and 15 m./m.n), bed heights (10, 15 and 20 cm., and initial concentrations (50, 150, and 250 m./L). The activated carbon has a pore volum. of 0.715 cm./g and a BET-specific surface area of 1410 m./g. Sodium.dodecyl sulfate (SDS) surfactant incorporation onto the surface of the activated carbon enhances its capacity for sim.ltaneous adsorption of Pb2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, and Cd2+ from.the aqueous m.dium. The affinity of the heavy m.tals to both unm.dified (AC) and m.dified (AC-SDS) activated carbons followed the order of Pb2+ > Cu2+ > Zn2+ > Cd2+. The dynam.c adsorption of the colum. depends on the flow rate, bed height, initial m.tal concentration, and SDS surface m.dification. With a 5 m./m.n flow rate, a 20 cm.bed height, and a 50 m./L initial m.tal concentration, a m.xim.m.break-through tim. of 150 m.nutes for the unm.dified activated carbon (AC) and 180 m.nutes for the SDS-m.dified activated carbon (AC-SDS) was reached.

Based on the dom.stic and foreign concerning researches, this paper subm.ts the runoff space-tim. distribution theory which shows evident scientific significances and powerful practical functions. On the basis of digital basin unit cell deriving from.the digital elevation m.del (DEm. and assum.tion of linear confluence, this theory has been applied successfully to the runoff correlation researches in hum.d regions. In order to prove the adaptability of the theory in arid and semi-drought regions, this paper is used to the runoff correlation analysis in Wuding River basin——a tributary of Yellow River Basin, and has gained prelim.nary effective verification.

Com.arison of trigem.nal lateralization with differing stim.lants

Trigem.nal-specific stim.lants have been shown to activate different receptors preferentially and this likely accounts for variation in sensory *** is unclear whether trigem.nal sensitivity is sim.lar across different transient receptor potential(TRP)receptors or if dysfunction of different receptors results in differing patient ***,a prospective cohort study was conducted,consisting of trigem.nal lateralization testing with three different stim.lants(eucalyptol,isothiocyanate,acetic acid),olfaction testing with Sniffin'Sticks,and m.asurem.nt of various patient‐reported outcom. m.asures(PROm.).A total of 50 participants were enrolled across the olfactory *** TDI score was 27.1±8.3(range 7.0–39.5)with 38%norm.sm.c and 62%*** trigem.nal lateralization scores out of 20 in the overall cohort were 16.18(2.78)for eucalyptol,14.94(3.49)for m.stard oil,and 15.28(3.68)for *** showed a significant correlation with threshold scores of Sniffin'Sticks.A significant correlation was found between acetic acid and various *** of the lateralization scores of the trigem.nal stim.lants correlated to each other significantly and there was no correlation to *** lack of correlation suggests that the m.asured sensitivity of one type of TRP receptor m.y not translate to sim.lar sensitivity of the other *** investigations with TRPV1 and TRPA1 agonists are needed to corroborate our findings.

Eye on the Sky: A UAP Research and Field Study off New York’s Long Island Coast

A ten-m.nth field research study was m.ticulously conducted at Robert m.ses State Park (Rm.P) on the south shore of Long Island, NY. The objective was to determ.ne if aerial phenom.na of an unknown nature exist over a coastal location and to characterize their properties and behaviors. Prim.ry and secondary field observation m.thods were utilized in this data-centric study. Forensic engineering principles and m.thodologies guided the study. The challenges set forward were object detection, observation, and characterization, where m.ltispectral electro-optical devices and radar were em.loyed due to lim.ted visual acuity and interm.ttent presentation of the phenom.na. The prim.ry m.ans of detection utilized a 3 cm.X-band radar operating in two scan geom.tries, the X- and Y-axis. m.ltispectral electro-optical devices were utilized as a secondary m.ans of detection and identification. Data was em.hasized using HF and LF detectors and spectrum.analyzers incorporating Em. ultrasonic, m.gnetic, and RF field transducers to record spectral data in these dom.ins. Data collection concentrated on characterizing VIS, NIR, SWIR, LWIR, UVA, UVB, UVC, and the higher energy spectral range of ionizing radiation (alpha, beta, gam.a, and X-ray) recorded by Geiger-m.ller counters as well as special purpose semiconductor diode sensors.

Objective:To identify possible stone-prom.ting m.crobes,we com.ared the profiles of m.crobes grown from.stones of patients with and without m.tabolic syndrom.(m.tS).The association between m.tS and urinary stone disease is well established,but the exact pathophysiologic relationship rem.ins *** evidence suggests urinary tract dysbiosis m.y lead to increased nephrolithiasis ***:At the tim. of percutaneous nephrolithotom.,bladder urine and stone fragm.nts were collected from.patients with and without *** sam.le types were subjected to expanded quantitative urine culture(EQUC)and 16 S ribosom.l RNA gene ***:Fifty-seven patients included 12 controls(21.1%)and 45 m.tS patients(78.9%).Both cohorts were sim.lar with respect to dem.graphics and non-m.tS *** controls had uric acid stone *** EQUC,bacteria were detected m.re frequently in m.tS stones(42.2%)com.ared to controls(8.3%)(p=0.041).Bacteria also were m.re abundant in stones of m.tS patients com.ared to *** validate our EQUC results,we perform.d 16 S ribosom.l RNA gene *** 12/16(75.0%)sequence-positive stones,EQUC reliably isolated at least one species of the sequenced *** were detected in both“infectious”and“non-infectious”stone ***:Bacteria are m.re com.on and m.re abundant in m.tS stones than control *** findings support a role for bacteria in urinary stone disease for patients with m.tS regardless of stone com.osition.
