Research toward photonic biosensors f.r point-of.care applications and personalized medicine is driven by the need f.r high-sensitivity,low-cost,and reliable *** the most sensitive modalities,interf.rometry of.ers particularly high perf.rmance,but typically lacks the required operational simplicity and ***,we introduce a common-path interf.rometric sensor based on guided-mode resonances to combine high perf.rmance with inherent *** sensor exploits the simultaneous excitation of.two orthogonally polarized modes,and detects the relative phase change caused by biomolecular binding on the sensor *** wide dynamic range of.the sensor,which is essential f.r f.brication and angle tolerance,as well as versatility,is controlled by integrating multiple,tuned structures in the f.eld of.*** approach circumvents the trade-of. between sensitivity and dynamic range,typical of.other phase-sensitive modalities,without increasing *** sensor enables the challenging label-f.ee detection of.procalcitonin,a small protein(13 kDa)and biomarker f.r inf.ction,at the clinically relevant concentration of.1 pg mL^(−1),with a signal-to-noise ratio of.*** result indicates the utility f.r an exemplary application in antibiotic guidance,and opens possibilities f.r detecting f.rther clinically or environmentally relevant small molecules with an intrinsically simple and robust sensing modality.

Considering the“One Health”f.amework,the soil microbial community is essential f.r plant,animal,and ultimately to human health(Banerjee and van der Heijden,2023).Similar to the microbiome in human gut(Berendsen et al.,2012),the plant-associated microbiota drives key f.nctions in agroecosystems,such as supporting nutrient uptake,suppressing plant pathogens,or improving host stress tolerance(Hartmann and Six,2023).However,continuous mono-cropping run in intensif.ed agroecosystems of.en leads to the loss of.soil biodiversity,reduces resistance to plant pathogens,and ultimately causes the outbreak of.soil-borne diseases(Tsiaf.uli et al.,2015;Raaijmakers and Mazzola,2016).This represents a major threat to global f.od security and sustainable development in agriculture(Strange and Scott,2005;Butler,2013).Accordingly,soil microbiome engineering is widely recognized as a promising approach to promote plant health and agricultural sustainability(Raaijmakers and Mazzola,2016;Hartman et al.,2018).

烧结过程可改进压制-烧结的铁基材料的物理-力学性能。烧结时因扩散产生颗粒结合与合金化;随着烧结时间增长,强化材料性能。烧结的作用通过显微组织特征(诸如颗粒边界与孔隙边缘)的变化可以看出。烧结的一些改进表现为颗粒边界消失,孔隙边缘变得较平滑和颗粒间尖角特征数量减少。一般将这些特征与特性的外观和它们发生的频率一起当做是烧结程度。用众所周知的体视技术(Stereological practies)与适当制备的金相试样,可以判定烧结程度。关于判定与区分烧结程度不同的材料,将讨论3种试验方法。另外,将用烧结时间不同的铁-铜-碳预混合粉材料的图像来说明这些显微组织的变化。

Large-scale electrical energy storage with high energy density and round-trip ef.iciency is important to the resilience of.power grids and the ef.ective use of.intermittent renewable energy such as solar and *** battery,due to its high energy density,is believed to be one of.the most promising energy storage systems f.r the ***,large overpotentials,poor cycling stability,and degradation of.electrolytes and cathodes have been hindering the development of.lithium-oxygen *** heterogeneous oxygen electrocatalysts have been investigated to lower the overpotentials and enhance the cycling stability of.lithium-oxygen ***,the prevailing issues of.electrode passivation and clogging *** the past f.w years,redox mediators were explored as homogenous catalysts to address the issues,while only limited success has been achieved f.r these soluble *** conjunction with a f.owing electrolyte system,a new redox f.ow lithium-oxygen battery(Rf.OB)has been devised to tackle the af.rementioned *** working mechanism and schematic processes will be elaborated in this *** addition,the perf.rmance gap of.Rf.OB with respect to practical requirements will be *** the above,we anticipate Rf.OB would be a credible solution f.r the implementation of.lithium-oxygen battery chemistry f.r the next generation energy storage.

The reproductive potential of.overwintering boll weevil, Anthonomus grandis grandis （Boheman）, f.males collected f.om pheromone traps in September, November and January, f.d f.r 1, 3, and 5 weeks on plant pollens, and then provided cotton squares, was determined in the laboratory at 27 ~ I^C, 65% RH, and a photoperiod 13 ： 11 （L ： D） h. Duration of.pollen f.eding by overwintering boll weevils did not signif.cantly inf.uence egg and f.eding punctures, or puncture ratios （egg to total punctures） f.r any of.the three months of.parent weevil collections when provided cotton squares on a daily basis. However, punctures and puncture ratios are signif.cantly dif.erent when comparing mean data between months of.boll weevil collections. When boll weevils were provided with cotton squares daily, the pre-ovipositional periods of.f.male parents captured in September, November and January were 5, 9 and 14 days, respectively. The rate of.eggs by f.males was signif.cantly lower during November and January than September. f.male parents collected in September produced a signif.cantly higher percentage of.eggs yielding adult progeny than those collected in November and January. Lif. table parameters indicated that net reproductive rate （Ro） of.boll weevil f.males collected in September was 1.2- f.ld higher than those collected in November and 10.7-f.ld higher than those collected in January. Except f.r testes size, no dif.erences in male reproductive parameters were observed during the cotton-f.ee period compared with males captured during mid-cotton （June）. The number of.oocytes in the ovarioles and the number of.ooeytes containing yolk were signif.cantly lower during September, November and January compared with June. The reproductive potential of.verwintering boll weevil f.males collected in dif.erent months is an important consideration in determining the success of.any control strategy.

The systemic processes involved in the manif.station of.lif.・threatening COVID-19 and in disease recovery are still incompletely understood,despite investigations f.cusing on the dysregulation of.immune responses af.er SARS-CoV-2 *** def.ne hallmarks of.severe COVID-19 in acute disease(n=58)and in disease recovery in con valesce nt patie nts(n=28)f.om Han nover Medical School,we used f.ow cytometry and proteomics data with unsupervised clustering *** our observational study,we combined analyses of.immune cells and cytokine/chemokine networks with endothelial activation and *** patients displayed an altered immune signature with prolonged lymphopenia but the expansion of.granulocytes and plasmablasts along with activated and terminally dif.erentiated T and NK cells and high levels of.SARS-CoV-2-specif.c *** core signature of.seven plasma proteins revealed a highly inf.ammatory microenvironment in addition to endothelial injury in severe *** within this sign ature were associated with either disease progression or *** summary,our data suggest that besides a strong inf.ammatory response,severe COVID-19 is driven by endothelial activation and barrier disruption,whereby recovery depends on the regeneration of.the endothelial integrity.

Bottom-up synthesis of.semiconductor nanowires(NWs)by the vapor-liquid-solid(VLS)mechanism has enabled diverse technological applications f.r these *** metallic NWs,however,it has been challenging to f.rm large-area interconnected NW ***,we generate centimeter-scale meshes of.mechanically and electrically interconnected Si NWs by sequentially growing,collapsing,and joining the NWs using a capillarity-driven welding *** f.bricate meshes f.om VLS-grown NWs ranging in diameter f.om 20 to 100 nm and f.nd that the meshes are three-dimensional with a thickness ranging f.om^1 to^10 microns depending on the NW *** extinction measurements reveal that the networks are semi-transparent with a color that depends on the absorption and scattering characteristics of.individual ***,active voltage contrast imaging of.both centimeter-and micron-scale meshes reveals widespread electrical *** a sacrif.cial layer,we demonstrate that the mesh can be liberated f.om the growth substrate,yielding a highly f.exible and transparent *** transport measurements both on the growth substrate and on liberated,f.exible f.lms reveal electrical conduction across a centimeter scale with a sheet resistance of.160-180 kΩ/square that does not change signif.cantly upon *** the ability to encode complex f.nctionality in semiconductor NWs through the VLS process,we believe these meshes of.networked NWs could f.nd application as neuromorphic memory,electrode scaf.olds,and bioelectronic interf.ces.

Circadian rhythm of.f.eding, oviposition, and emergence of.boll weevil adults were determined at f.ve dif.erent photophases （24, 14, 12, 10, and 0 hours） and a constant 27℃ temperature, 65% RH in the laboratory. Squares f.om Petri dishes, where they were exposed to boll weevil f.males, were removed and examined f.r f.eding and oviposition punctures every 4 hours during daylight （0700-1900 h） and every 12 h at night （1900-0700 h） over eight consecutive days. Cohorts of.randomly selected egg-punctured squares were sampled f.om ovipositing f.males at 0700, 1100, 1500, and 1900 during 24 hours and under dif.erent photophase treatments, and maintained in Petri dishes at 27 ＋ I℃, 65% RH. Dishes were observed twice daily （1900 and 0700 h） f.r adults emerging at day or night. Circadian rhythm of.oviposition was not af.ected by the length of.the photophase. The boll weevil has round-the-clock circadian rhythm of.oviposition, with a daytime pref.rence. We observed that 82.4%-86.0% of.the boll weevil eggs were deposited between 0700 and 1900 h, and 14.0%-17.6% between 1900 and 0700 h during a 24-h period. f.eding of.boll weevil f.males in photoperiods 24：0 h （complete light） and 0：24 h （complete darkness） did not signif.cantly change between 0700-1900 h versus 1900-0700 h, while the d .ally cycle of.light and darkness in other photoperiods signif.cantly increased the f.eding punctures f.om 0700-1900 compared with 1900-0700 h. The circadian rhythm of.emergence depended signif.cantly on the time of.oviposition and the length of.the photophase. Investigation of.boll weevil circadian rhythm provides a better understanding of.boll weevil ecology and reveals potential weak links f.r improving control technologies targeting their reproductive strategies.
