In this paper,an elasto-plastic constitutive model is employed to capture the shear failure that may occur in a rock mass presenting mechanical discontinuities,such as faults,fractures,bedding planes or other planar weak *** failure may occur in two modes:a sliding failure on the weak plane or an intrinsic failure of the rock *** rock matrix is expected to behave elastically or fail in a brittle manner,being represented by a non-associated Mohr-Coulomb behavior,while the sliding failure is represented by the evaluation of the Coulomb criterion on an explicitly defined *** may furthermore affect the hydraulic properties of the rock mass:the shearing of the weakness plane may create a transmissive fluid *** of the mechanical submodel is conducted by comparison with an analytical solution,while the coupled hydro-mechanical behavior is validated with field data and will be applied within a model and code validation *** work presented here aims at documenting the progress in code development,while accurate match of the field data with the numerical results is current work in progress.

有学者认为,在霍布斯的义务体系中存在真正的道德义务,并且这种义务来源于上帝的命令。但实际上,霍布斯道德义务的来源完全是基于自利的考虑。我们为什么要遵守自然法,并不是由于上帝命令我们这样做,而是人们的明智考量决定要如此行动。因为遵守自然法是对个人以及人类整体的保存最有利的方式。这样一种考量当然是出于自利的考虑。如果说上帝的命令是遵守自然法的依据,那也仅仅是因为上帝是全能的。他的力量足以使一切人类服从于他,无论他命令什么,我们都只有服从。但是这种服从也就意味着自然法绝非永恒不变的法则,因为命令是可以变化的,这与霍布斯的观点完全矛盾。并且,这样一种服从于一人的权威绝不可能是真正的道德。在霍布斯这里根本没有真正的道德义务,任何对霍布斯义务体系的道德解释都注定是失败的。

Forest biodiversity studies conducted across Europe use a multitude of forestry terms,often *** hinders the comparability across studies and makes the assessment of the impacts of forest management on biodiversity highly *** attempts to standardize forestry and stand description terminology mostly used a top-down approach that did not account for the perspectives and approaches of forest biodiversity *** work aims to establish common standards for silvicultural and vegetation definitions,creating a shared conceptual framework for a consistent study on the effects of forest management on *** have identified both strengths and weaknesses of the silvicultural and vegetation information provided in forest biodiversity *** quantitative data on forest biomass and dominant tree species are frequently included,information on silvicultural activities and vegetation composition is often lacking,shallow,or based on broad and heterogeneous *** discuss the existing classifications and their use in European forest biodiversity studies through a novel bottom-up and top-driven review process,and ultimately propose a common *** will enhance the comparability of forest biodiversity studies in Europe,and puts the basis for effective implementation and monitoring of sustainable forest management *** standards here proposed are potentially adaptable and applicable to other geographical areas and could be extended to other forest interventions.

The International Symposium ‘Towards Sustainable Livelihoods and Ecosystems in Mountainous Regions＇, held in Chiang Mai from 7-9 March 2006 （hereafter referred to as ‘Mountain Symposium＇）, brought together a wealth of experience from mountain research and development in four continents. Some of its highlights are presented in this Special Issue. If one were to choose a ＇leitmotif that would best capture the present state of knowledge in mountain research, it would be recognizing heterogeneity, complexity, interdependency, and learning how to deal with it. We are in the middle of a learning process and it is important to remember Rod Lefroy＇s statement in the panel discussion of the Mountain Symposium：＂perfection is the enemy of progress＂（Lefroy 2006）.

AIM:To evaluate different promising magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) methods at 7.0 Tesla(T) for the pre-stereotactic visualization of the zona incerta(ZI).METHODS:Two neuroradiologists qualitatively and quantitatively examined T2-turbo spin-echo(T2-TSE),T1-weighted gradient-echo,as well as FLASH2D-T2Star and susceptibility-weighted imaging(SWI) for the visualization of the ZI at 7.0 T *** and image quality for the ZI were independently examined using a 6-scale grading ***-rater reliability using Cohen's kappa coefficient(κ) were ***-tonoise ratios(CNR),and signal-to-noise ratios(SNR) for the ZI were calculated for all *** in delineation,SNR,and CNR between the sequences were statistically assessed using a paired *** the anatomic validation the coronal FLASH2D-T2Star images were co-registered with a stereotactic atlas(Schaltenbrand-Wahren).RESULTS:The rostral part of the ZI(rZI) could easily be identified and was best and reliably visualized in the coronal FLASH2D-T2Star *** caudal part was not definable in any of the *** major artifacts in the rZI were observed in any of the ***2D-T2Star and SWI imaging offered significant higher CNR values for the rZI compared to T2-TSE images(P > 0.05).The co-registration of the coronal FLASH2D-T2Star images with the stereotactic atlas schema(Schaltenbrand-Wahren) confirmed the correct localization of the ZI in all ***:FLASH2D-T2Star imaging(particularly coronal view) provides the reliable and currently optimal visualization of the rZI at 7.0 *** results can facilitate a better and more precise targeting of the caudal part of the ZI than ever before.
