Background:Interpersonal coordination is an essential aspect of daily life,and crucial to performance in cooperative and competitive team *** empirical research has investigated interpersonal coordination using a wide variety of analytical tools and frameworks,to date very few studies have employed multifractal techniques to study the nature of interpersonal coordination across multiple spatiotemporal *** the present study we address this ***:We investigated the dynamics of a simple dyadic interpersonal coordination task where each participant manually controlled a virtual object in relation to that of his or her *** tested whether the resulting hand-movement time series exhibits multi-scale properties and whether those properties are associated with successful ***:Using the formalism of multifractals,we show that the performance on the coordination task is strongly multi-scale,and that the multi-scale properties appear to arise from interaction-dominant ***,we find that the measure of across-scale interactions,multifractal spectrum width,predicts successful performance at the level of the ***:The results are discussed with respect to the implications of multifractals and interaction-dominance for understanding control in an interpersonal context.

This article explores the use of social networks by workers in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, with particular emphasis on a descriptive or quantitative analysis aimed at understanding motivations and methods of use. more than five hundred and fifty questionnaires were distributed, highlighting workers’ preferred digital channels and platforms. The results indicate that the majority use social media through their mobile phones, with WhatsApp being the most popular app, followed by Facebook and LinkedIn. The study reveals that workers use social media for entertainment purposes and to develop professional and social relationships, with 55% unable to live without social media at work for recreational activities. In addition, 35% spend on average 1 to 2 hours on social networks, mainly between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. It also appears that 46% believe that social networks moderately improve their productivity. These findings can guide marketing strategies, training, technology development and government policies related to the use of social media in the workplace.

Excitons,bound electron–hole pairs,in two-dimensional hybrid organic inorganic perovskites(2D HOIPs)are capable of forming hybrid light-matter states known as exciton-polaritons(E–Ps)when the excitonic medium is confined in an optical *** the case of 2D HOIPs,they can self-hybridize into E–Ps at specific thicknesses of the HOIP crystals that form a resonant optical cavity with the ***,the fundamental properties of these self-hybridized E–Ps in 2D HOIPs,including their role in ultrafast energy and/or charge transfer at interfaces,remain ***,we demonstrate that>0.5µm thick 2D HOIP crystals on Au substrates are capable of supporting multiple-orders of self-hybridized E–P *** E–Ps have high Q factors(>100)and modulate the optical dispersion for the crystal to enhance sub-gap absorption and *** varying excitation energy and ultrafast measurements,we also confirm energy transfer from higher energy E–Ps to lower energy E–***,we also demonstrate that E–Ps are capable of charge transport and transfer at *** findings provide new insights into charge and energy transfer in E–Ps opening new opportunities towards their manipulation for polaritonic devices.

The implicit 2D3V particle-in-cell(PIC)code developed to study the interaction of ultrashort pulse lasers with matter[*** and ***,Computer ***.179,868(2008);*** 18,073102(2011)]has been parallelized using mPI(message Passing Interface).The parallelization strategy is optimized for a small number of computer cores,up to about *** on the algorithm implementation are given with emphasis on code optimization by overlapping computations with *** evaluation for 1D domain decomposition has been made on a small Linux cluster with 64 computer cores for two typical regimes of PIC operation:”particle dominated”,for which the bulk of the computation time is spent on pushing particles,and”field dominated”,for which computing the fields is *** a small number of computer cores,less than 32,the mPI implementation offers a significant numerical *** the”particle dominated”regime it is close to the maximum theoretical one,while in the”field dominated”regime it is about 75-80%of the maximum *** a number of cores exceeding 32,performance degradation takes place as a result of the adopted 1D domain *** code parallelization will allow future implementation of atomic physics and extension to three dimensions.

Effect of TiN Particles and Grain Size on the Charpy Impact Transition Temperature in Steels

The toughness of ferritic steels is influenced by the grain size distribution, second phase, precipitates and coarse inclusions. In this work an examination of the effect of coarse TiN particles （〉0.5 μm） and ferrite grain size on the Charpy impact transition temperature in high strength low alloyed steels has been carried out. Steels with high Ti content （up to 0.045 wt%）, have been heat-treated and furnace cooled to obtain a ferrite-pearlite microstructure with different ferrite grain sizes. Coarse TiN particle size and ferrite grain size distributions have been measured and Charpy impact testing has been carried out. Scanning electron microscopy （SEm） analysis has been used to measure the grain boundary carbide thickness and to determine if the coarse TiN particles are acting as cleavage initiation sites by fractographic analysis. The Charpy ductile-brittle transition temperatures （DBTT） have been predicted using standard literature equations, and compared to the measured values. The relationship between the ferrite grain size and coarse TiN particle size and number density in terms of whether the coarse TiN particles act as effective cleavage initiation sites is discussed in this paper.

The neurotrophin and glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor(GDNF) family of growth factors have been extensively studied because of their proven ability to regulate development of the peripheral nervous *** neurotrophin family,which includes nerve growth factor(NGF),NT-3,NT4/5 and BDNF,is also known for its ability to regulate the function of adult sensory *** recently,little was known concerning the role of the GNDF-family(that includes GDNF,artemin,neurturin and persephin) in adult sensory neuron *** we describe recent data that indicates that the GDNF family can regulate sensory neuron function,that some of its members are elevated in inflammatory pain models and that application of these growth factors produces pain in *** we discuss how these two families of growth factors may converge on a single membrane receptor,TRPV1,to produce long-lasting hyperalgesia.

Cloacal malformations are characterized by the confluence of the lower urinary tract,the female reproductive tract,and the rectum to create a common channel with a single opening on the *** presence of a cloaca is a normal phase of early human embryological *** the 4^th and 7^th weeks of gestation,the cloaca undergoes subdivision to form the hindgut and urogenital *** of this process results in the congenital anomaly termed persistent cloaca(PC).The term urorectal septum malformation sequence(URSmS)is also used to describe this *** classic description of this process which is still cited in many standard textbooks dates from the 19th ***,this has been increasingly called into question by the findings of studies using modern scientific *** sinus anomalies are defined by the confluence of the urethra and vagina to form a common channel of varying length with a single perineal *** this condition,the anorectal canal opens separately on the *** presence of a urogenital sinus represents a transient phase of the normal development of the lower genital tract in the female ***,the form of urogenital sinus most commonly encountered in the developed world is a feature of disordered sexual differentiation and does not arise simply from the persistence of the anatomical structure which is a feature of normal fetal development.
