Delayed atomoxetine or fluoxetine treatment coupled with limited voluntary running promotes motor recovery in mice after ischemic stroke

Currently, there is an unmet need for treatments promoting post-stroke functional *** aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the dose-dependent effect of delayed atomoxetine or fluoxetine therapy(starting on post-stroke day 5), coupled with limited physical exercise(2 hours daily voluntary wheel running;post-stroke days 9 to 42), on motor recovery of adult male mice after photothrombotic *** drugs are selective norepinephrine or serotonin reuptake inhibitors indicated for disorders unrelated to *** predetermined primary end-point for this study was motor function measured in two tasks of spontaneous motor behaviors in grid-walking and cylinder ***, we quantified the running distance and speed throughout the study, the number of parvalbumin-positive neurons in the medial agranular cortex and infarct *** sensorimotor tests revealed that neither limited physical exercise nor a drug treatment alone significantly facilitated motor recovery in mice after ***, combination of physical exercise with either of the drugs promoted restoration of motor function by day 42 post-stroke, with atomoxetine being a more potent *** was accompanied by a significant decrease in parvalbumin-positive inhibitory interneurons in the ipsilateral medial agranular cortex of mice with recovering motor function, while infarct volumes were comparable among experimental *** further validated in larger studies, our observations suggest that add-on atomoxetine or fluoxetine therapy coupled with limited, structured physical rehabilitation could offer therapeutic modality for stroke survivors who have difficulty to engage in early, high-intensity ***, in light of the recently completed Assessment o F Fluoxet INe In s Troke recover Y(AFFINITY) and Efficacy o F Fluoxetine-a randomis Ed Controlled Trial in Stroke(EFFECTS) trials, our observations call for newly designed studies where fluoxetine or atomoxeti

Effect of fiber orientation in uni-directional glass epoxy laminate using acoustic emission monitoring

Acoustic emission （AE） can be used for in situ structural health monitoring of the composite laminates. One of the main issues of AE is to characterize different damage mechanisms from the detected AE signals. In the present work, pure resin and GFRP composites laminates with different stacking sequences such as 0°, 90°, angle ply[±45°], cross-ply [0°/90°] are used to trigger different failure mechanisms when subjected to tensile test with AE monitoring. The study of failure mechanisms is facilitated by the choice of different oriented specimens in which one or two such mechanisms predominate. Range of peak frequencies in each orientation is investigated using FFT analysis. Fast Fourier Transform （FFT） enabled calculating the frequency content of each damage mechanism. Randomly selected hits from each range of peak frequencies for the specimens with different orientations subjected to tensile test with AE monitoring are analyzed using short time FFT （STFFT） analysis. STFFT analysis is used to highlight the possible failure mechanism associated with each signal. The predominance of failure modes in each orientation is useful in the study of discrimination of failure modes in composite laminates from AE data.

Ultimate Strength Prediction of Carbon/Epoxy Tensile Specimens from Acoustic Emission Data

The objective of this paper was to predict the residual strength of post impacted carbon/epoxy composite laminates using an online acoustic emission （AE） monitoring and artificial neural networks （ANN）. The laminates were made from eight-layered carbon （in woven mat form） with epoxy as the binding medium by hand lay-up technique and cured at a pressure of 100 kg/cm2 under room temperature using a 30 ton capacity compression molding machine for 24 h. 21 tensile specimens （ASTM D3039 standard） were cut from the cross ply laminates. 16 specimens were subjected to impact load from three different heights using a Fractovis Plus drop impact tester. Both impacted and non-impacted specimens were subjected to uniaxial tension under the acoustic emission monitoring using a 100 kN FIE servo hydraulic universal testing machine. The dominant AE parameters such as counts, energy, duration, rise time and amplitude are recorded during monitoring. Cumulative counts corresponding to the amplitude ranges obtained during the tensile testing are used to train the network. This network can be used to predict the failure load of a similar specimen subjected to uniaxial tension under acoustic emission monitoring for certain percentage of the average failure load.

Feedback model of secondary electron emission in DC gas discharge plasmas

Feedback is said to exist in any amplifier when the fraction of output power in fed back as an ***,in gaseous discharge ions that incident on the cathode act as a natural feedback element to stabilize and self sustain the *** present investigation is intended to emphasize the feedback nature of ions that emits secondary electrons（SEs）from the cathode surface in DC gas *** average number of SEs emitted per incident ion and non ionic species（energetic neutrals,metastables and photons）which results from ion is defined as effective secondary electronemission coefficient（ESEEC,Eg）.In this study,we derive an analytic expression that corroborates the relation betweenEg and power influx by ion to the cathode based on the feedback theory of an *** addition,experimentally,we confirmed the typical positive feedback nature of SEEfrom the cathode in argon DC glow *** experiment is done for three different cathode material of same dimension（tungsten（W）,copper（Cu）and brass）under identical discharge conditions（pressure：0.45 mbar,cathode bias：-600 v,discharge gab：15 cm and operating gas：argon）.Further,we found that theEg value of these cathode material controls the amount of feedback power given by *** difference in feedback leads different final output i.e the power carried by ion at cathode（Pi C￠∣）.The experimentally obtained value of Pi C￠∣is 4.28 W,6.87 W and9.26 W respectively for W,Cu and *** addition,the present investigation reveals that the amount of feedback power in a DC gas discharges not only affect the fraction of power fed back to the cathode but also the entire characteristics of the discharge.

Renewable energy sources like solar,wind,and hydro are becoming increasingly popular due to the fewer negative impacts they have on the ***,Since the production of renewable energy sources is still in the process of being created,photovoltaic(Pv)systems are commonly utilized for installation situations that are acceptable,clean,and *** study presents an adaptive artificial intelligence approach that can be used for maximum power point tracking(MPPT)in solar systems with the help of an embedded *** adaptive method incorporates both the Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)and the Artificial Neural Network(ANN).The WOA was implemented to enhance the process of the ANN model’s training,and the ANN model was developed using the *** addition to this,the inverter circuit is connected to the smart grid system,and the strengthening of the smart grid is achieved through the implementation of the CMCMAC *** protocol prevents interference between customers and the organizations that provide their *** a protocol known as Cross-Layer Multi-Channel MAC(CMCMAC),the effect of interference is removed using the way that was ***,with the utilization of the ZIGBEE communication technology,bidirectional communication is made *** strategy that was suggested has been put into practice,and the results have shown that the Pv system produces an output power of 73.32 KW and an efficiency of 98.72%.In addition to this,a built-in regulator is utilized to validate the proposed *** this paper,the results of various experiments are analyzed,and a comparison is made between the suggested WOA with the ANN controller approach and others,such as the Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)based MPPT and the Cuckoo Search(CS)based *** examining the comparison findings,it was determined that the adaptive AI-based embedded controller was superior to the other alternatives.

Optical Field Confinement Enhanced Single ZnO Microrod Uv Photodetector

ZnO microrods are synthesized using the vapor phase transport method, and the magnetron sputtering is used to decorate the A1 nanoparticles （NPs） on a single ZnO microrod. The micro-PL and I-v responses are measured before and after the decoration orAl NPs. The FDTD stimulation is also carried out to demonstrate the optical field distribution around the decoration of Al NPs on the surface of a ZnO microrod. Due to an implementation of AI NPs, the ZnO microrod exhibits an improved photoresponse behavior. In addition, AI NPs induced localized surface plasmons （LSPs） as well as improved optical field confinement can be ascribed to an enhancement of ultraviolet （Uv） response. This research provides a method for improving the responsivity of photodetectors.

Studies on bioprospecting potential of a gastropod mollusc Cantharus tranquebaricus(Gmelin,1791)

Objective:To study the biological activities of the tissue extract of Cantharus tranquebaricus(***).Methods:Crude extract of gastropod was tested for inhibition of bacterial *** assay was carried out by disc diffusion method and the activity was measured accordingly based on the inhibition zone around the disc impregnated with gastropod *** weight of the extract was determined by using *** coagulation,Fibrin plate assay and substrate SDS-PAGE were used to determine the effect of sample on plasma coagulation,fibrin(ogen)olytic and proteolytic;***:The maximum inhibition zone(10 mm)was observed against vibrio cholera(***)and minimum inhibition zone(2 mm)was noticed against Proteus mirablis(***).The molecular weight was determined as *** tissue extract shows proteolytic activity above 48 ***-PAGE analysis of fibrinogen after incubation with the tissue extract showed fibrinogenolytic *** plasma coagulation assay *** tissue extract showed procoagulant property and it coagulated chicken plasma within 150 s,while control took 5 min to *** 9 HU hemolytic units were found against chicken blood and also exhibit high level of brine shrimp ***:This study suggests that *** could be used as potential source for isolating bioactive compounds,since it is explored first time and found with promising results.
