How knowledge of hepatitis B disease and vaccine influences vaccination practices among parents in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Objective:To assess the influences of the knowledge of parents about hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection and the benefit of HBV vaccination on the practice of HBV vaccination among ***:A prospective cross-sectional study recruited parents whose children,aged 12-24 months,received HBV vaccination at Commune Health Centers(CHCs)in Ho Chi Minh City from Feb.2016 to *** were interviewed using a questionnaire that included 11-item binary knowledge questions and checked their children’s vaccination ***:A total of 768 parents had a mean age of(30.8±5.1)*** mean knowledge score of the 11-item questions was(7.0±2.4).The knowledge score was positively associated with full and timely HBV *** addition,children who received complete and timely HBV vaccination were significantly more likely to live in rural areas(Adjusted OR 4.02,95%CI 2.79-5.79,P<0.001).Also,children whose parents received vaccination information from health care providers,and had knowledge about HBV risk,had a higher rate of full and timely HBV vaccination(Adjusted OR 1.60,95%CI 1.13-2.29,and Adjusted OR 1.47,95%CI 1.01-2.13,P all<0.05).Conclusions:Parents possessed a great deal of incorrect knowledge about *** health education from health care providers should target parents living in specific locations and focus on the benefits of HBV vaccine.

Land subsidence prediction for a new urban mass rapid transit line in hanoi

The rapidly increasing population,urbanization,and industrialization of hanoi city in the last few decades have necessitated the urgent development of a new underground public transport infrastructure such as the urban mass rapid transit(UMRT)system that is now under ***,concerns on the possible effects of land subsidence on the to-be-constructed and operated UMRT lines must be *** of the difficulties while assessing land subsidence in hanoi is the insufficient subsidence monitoring ***,a good geotechnical characterization of the subsoil profile and proper numerical analysis can help predict groundwater pumping-induced subsidence *** UMRT line No.2 that was selected for this study is special as it runs across the old quarter downtown,located at the very heart of hanoi *** this paper,the hanoi aquifer system,groundwater extraction,and subsidence monitoring network of hanoi are reviewed *** data from 30 investigation boreholes were analyzed to characterize the subsoil profile underlying a segment of the UMRT line No.2 that consists of both elevated and underground *** soil layers were identified up to a depth of 50 m,including a compressible soft clay layer 10-15 m thick that is supposed to be most vulnerable to subsidence by groundwater *** on the long-term groundwater monitoring data,one-dimensional finite element method(FEM)consolidation analyses were carried out for three drawdown boundary conditions of 5,10,and 15 m and yielded a total subsidence of 0.15,0.35,and 0.5 m,respectively,after 25 years with 1994 as the reference *** results of this study confirmed that land subsidence in particular should be considered in the construction and maintenance of the UMRT lines in hanoi,in particular for underground sections that are founded on soft to medium clay layers.

COVID-19 vaccination intention among healthcare workers in Vietnam

Objective:To assess the acceptance of coronavirus disease(COVID-19)vaccine among healthcare workers at two general hospitals in Vietnam when it is ***:A cross-sectional study was conducted using a convenience sampling from January to February 2021 among 410 healthcare workers at two general hospitals in Vietnam via a selfadministered questionnaire.A multivariable regression analysis was performed to determine predictors of vaccine acceptance including the demographic factors,COVID-19 knowledge,and vaccine beliefs based on the domains of Health Belief ***:Among 410 healthcare workers,76.10%showed vaccination *** of acceptance were determined that the group reporting as“vaccine acceptance”was more likely to be positive towards the perceived susceptibility and severity of COVID-19(OR 2.45;95%CI 1.48-4.06,P<0.05),perceived benefits of vaccination,and cues to action(OR 4.36;95%CI 2.35-8.09,and OR 5.49;95%CI 2.84-10.61,respectively,all P<0.001),but less likely to have the perceived barriers to vaccination(OR 0.19;95%CI 0.09-0.38;P<0.001)compared with the no acceptance ***,people who had a good knowledge regarding the severity of illness were 3.37 times more likely to have identified as vaccine acceptance(OR 3.37;95%CI 1.04-10.86,P<0.05).The demographic factors were also associated with willingness to receive the vaccine,with participants who were staff and received COVID-19 information from relatives were less likely to accept the vaccine over those who were doctors and not receiving information from relatives(OR 0.36;95%CI 0.13-0.96,and OR 0.37;95%CI 0.17-0.78,respectively,all P<0.05).Conclusions:A rate of willingness to get vaccinated against COVID-19 was relatively high with discrepancies between occupation,receiving information from relatives,knowledge toward the severity of illness,and the elements of Health Belief *** findings will provide information for the management authorities to develop relevant interv

The impact of plasmonic Ag−Au bimetallic nanoparticles on photocurrent enhancement in GaN-based photodetectors

Recently,there has been considerable interest in high-efficiency ultraviolet(UV)photodetectors for their potential practical *** this study,a high-quality UV photodetector was fabricated using a combination of Ag and Au NPs with GaN *** GaN film was deposited using sputtering technique,whereas Ag and Au films were grown using thermal evaporation ***-Au bimetallic nanoparticles were formed by treating them at the various annealing temperature to improve the interaction between light and the photoactive layers of the *** optimal annealing temperature to achieve the best performance of a photodetector is 650℃.this led to a photoresponsivity of 98.5 A/W and the ON/OFF ratio of 705 at low bias voltage of 1 *** work establishes the foundation for the advancement of high-performance UV photodetectors.

Morphology and kinematics of the gas envelope of the Mira binary W Aquilae

We analyse ALMA observations of the12CO（3-2） emission of the circumstellar envelope（CSE）of the Mira variable binary star W Aql. These provide, for the first time, spatially resolved Doppler velocity spectra of the CSE up to angular distances to the central star ofy nature of the observations（only five minutes in each of～5′′（meaning some 2000 AU）. The explorator two different configurations） does not allow for a detailed modelling of the properties of the CSE but provides important qualitative information on its morphology and kinematics. Emission is found to be enhanced along an axis moving from east/west to north-east/south-west when the angular distance from the central star projected on the plane of the sky increases from zero to four arcseconds. In parallel, the Doppler velocity distribution displays asymmetry along an axis moving from east/west to north-west/south-east. The results are discussed in the context of earlier observations, in particular of the dust morphology.

Observations of an unprecedented quality made by ALMA on the Red Rectangle of CO（3-2） and CO（6-5） emissions are analysed jointly with the aim of obtaining as simple as possible a description of the gas morphology and kinematics. Evidence is found for polar conical outflows and for a broad equatorial torus in rotation and expansion. Simple models of both are proposed. Comparing CO（6-5） and CO（3-2） emissions provides evidence for a strong temperature enhancement over the polar outflows. Continuum emission （dust） is seen to be enhanced in the equatorial region. Observed asymmetries are briefly discussed.
