The aim of the present study was to determine the level of underlying DNA damage in females with PCOs. Twenty-two women with PCOs and twenty-two healthy controls were included in this study. Patients were further categorized into three phenotypic subgroups: subgroup A, oligo/anovulation (ANOV) and polycystic ovaries (PCO);subgroup b, hyperandrogenism (HA) as a main characteristic (HA + ANOV or HA + PCO);subgroup C, all three conditions present (HA + ANOV + PCO). The frequency of sister chromatid exchanges (sCEs) was used as an index of cytogenetic damage. Proliferation rate index (PRI), mitotic index (MI), average generation time (AGT) and population doubling time (PDT) were also evaluated. A significant (p se in sCE levels along with a significant (p s and MIs were observed in women with PCOs compared with healthy subjects. Additionally, subgroup C demonstrated statistically significant differences compared with others, while subgroup A had similar results with healthy females. Our results suggest that females with PCOs show increased chromosomal instability in peripheral lymphocytes and a consequent inability of the cells to promote their own mitotic cycle. A positive correlation between DNA damage and PCOs phenotypes is also reported.

为了有效阻止网络攻击行为,提出一种基于攻击行为预测的网络攻击防御方法.针对入侵者的攻击行为具有强的随机性和不确定性,部署高交互蜜罐网络,采集入侵者攻入主机后的攻击数据,构建攻击状态转移图;利用隐马尔可夫模型(HMM)具有较为精确的似然度概率计算的特点,设计网络攻击行为预测模型.以攻击行为预测模型为核心,结合常用的入侵防御系统,构建主动防御策略,并开发相应的原型系统,将之部署到真实的网络系统中进行攻击实验.通过累计5个月真实数据的训练和验证,预测模型的准确率达到80%.结果表明该策略具有良好的网络攻击对抗性,可有效地用于预防网络攻击.

纳米尺度线宽的测量广泛应用于半导体制造、数据存储、微机电系统等领域。随着制造技术的进步,线宽的极限尺寸也变得越来越小,目前已经缩小至100 nm左右。在这一尺度范围内,由于样本制造技术的限制和测量仪器的影响,目前很难得到准确的测量结果。为了获得样本的真实几何尺寸信息,剔除测量方法和仪器本身对测量结果的影响,建立了一个基于AFM测量技术的线宽计量模型和相应算法。该模型将被测样本的截面轮廓用20个关键点分成5个部分共19段,用基于最小二乘的直线来拟合实际轮廓。应用该模型和算法可以分别得到单刻线轮廓拟合前后的顶部线宽b_T、b_(TF),中部线宽b_M、b_(MF),底部线宽b_b、b_(bF),左右边墙角A_L、A_R,以及高度h_。使用Nanoscope Ⅲa型AFM对一个单晶硅(si)线宽样本进行了测量,测量结果表明该模型和算法可以满足纳米尺度线宽计量的基本要求。

Chlorophylls and carotenoids are essential photosynthetic *** spatiotemporally coordinate the needs of chlorophylls and carotenoids for optimal photosynthesis and fitness in response to diverse environmental and developmental ***,how the biosynthesis pathways of these two pigments are coordinated,particularly at posttranslational level to allow rapid control,remains largely ***,we report that the highly conserved ORANGE(OR)family proteins coordinate both pathways via posttranslationally mediating the first committed enzyme in each *** demonstrate that OR family proteins physically interact with magnesium chelatase subunit I(CHLI)in chlorophyll biosynthesis pathway in addition to phytoene synthase(PsY)in carotenoid biosynthesis pathway and concurrently stabilize CHLI and PsY *** show that loss of OR genes hinders both chlorophyll and carotenoid biosynthesis,limits light-harvesting complex assembly,and impairs thylakoid grana stacking in *** of OR safeguards photosynthetic pigment biosynthesis and enhances thermotolerance in both Arabidopsis and tomato *** findings establish a novel mechanism by which plants coordinate chlorophyll and carotenoid biosynthesis and provide a potential genetic target to generate climate-resilient crops.

Climate conditions play a crucial role in the survival of mountain communities, whose survival already critically depends on socioeconomic factors. In the case of montane areas that are prone to natural haz-ards, such as alpine slope failure and debris flows, climatic factors exert a major influence that should be considered when creating appropriate sustainable scenarios. In fact, it has been shown that climate change alters the availability of ecosystem services （Es）, thus increasing the risks of declining soil fertility and reduced water availability, as well as the loss of grassland, potential shifts in regulatory services （e.g., protection from natural hazards）, and cultural services. This study offers a preliminary discussion on a case study of a region in the Italian Alps that is experiencing increased extreme precipitation and erosion, and where an isolated and historically resilient community directly depends on a natural resource econ- omy. Preliminary results show that economic factors have influenced past population trends of the Novalesa community in the Piemonte Region in northwest Italy. However, the increasing number of rock fall and debris flow events, which are triggered by meteo-climatic factors, may further influence the livelihood and weflbeing of this community, and of other similar communities around the world, Therefore, environmental monitoring and data analysis will be important means of detecting trends in landscape and climate change and choosing appropriate planning options. such analysis, in turn, would ensure the survival of about 10% of the global population, and would also represent a possibility for future economic development in critical areas prone to poverty conditions.

Objectives:The use of topical corticosteroids to manage postoperative sinonasal symptoms after endoscopic skull base surgery (Esbs) has not been well *** quantified long‐term impact of postoperative steroid irrigations (sIs) on quality of life of patients after ***:Retrospective review of patients at the University of Pennsylvania undergoing Esbs from 2010 to *** on patient demographics and postoperative treatment with nasal saline irrigation twice daily with and without dissolved steroids (mometasone or budesonide) was ***,and 1‐,3‐,6‐,12‐,18‐,and 24‐month postoperative sino‐Nasal Outcome Test (sNOT‐22) scores were ***:A total of 727 patients were assessed (53.4% males),with 479 patients in the no sI group and 248 patients in the sI *** sNOT‐22 scores did not differ significantly (P = 0.19).1‐,3‐,6‐,12‐,18‐,and 24‐month post‐op sNOT‐22 scores did not significantly differ between ***,mometasone irrigations resulted in significantly lower postoperative 2‐year sNOT‐22 scores compared to budesonide (P saline (P = 0.03).Conclusions:Though corticosteroid irrigations are routine in managing inflammatory sinus disease,their role in postoperative management after Esbs for tumors is *** findings suggest that mometasone irrigation may be effective at improving postoperative quality of life in patients after Esbs.

The evolution and integration of ports in global logistics chains has altered their traditional role while has initiated restructuring processes in many ports worldwide. While most of the research addresses this issue by highlighting the need for re-positioning and redefining the role of the port within the supply chains, not much attention has been given to the structure, scope and reach as well as to the tools of regulation hat competent authorities could exploit in order to avert potential abusive actions of global powerful actors along the containerized transport chain, that would affect the competitive functioning of distinct segment or the integrity of supply chains. In this context, we propose the reconceptualization and reinforcement of the regulatory governance structures of ports on a national and international level as well as the extension of the scope of ports’ regulations along the supply chain to counterbalance the globalization, consolidation and integration of containerized transport actors.
