physical performance is determined both by biophysical and physiological limitations and behav- ioral characteristic, specifically motivation. We a.p.ied an experimental evolution a.p.oach com- bined with pharmacological manipulation to test the hypothesis that evolution of increased aerobic exercise performance can be triggered by evolution of motivation to undertake physical activity. We used a unique model system： bank voles from A lines, selected for high swim-induced aerobic metabolism （VO2swim）, which achieved a 61% higher mass-adjusted VO2swim than those from un- selected C lines. Because the voles could float on the water surface with only a minimum activity, the maximum rate of metabolism achieved in that test depended not only on their aerobic capacity, but also on motivation to undertake intensive activity. Therefore, we hypothesized that signaling of neurotransmitters putatively involved in regulating physical activity （dopamine and noradrenaline） had changed in response to selection. We measured VO2swim after intraperitoneal injections of sa- line or the norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor bupropion （20 mg/kg or 30 mg/kg）. Additionally, we measured forced-exercise VO2 （VO2max）. In C lines, VO2swim （mass-adjusted mean ± standard error （SE）： 4.0 ± 0.1 mLO2/min） was lower than VO2max （5.0 ± 0.1 mLO2/min）, but in A lines VO2swim （6.0 ± 0.1 mLO2/min） was as high as VO2max （6.0 ± 0.1 mLO2/min）. Thus, the selection effectively changed both the physiological-physical performance limit and mechanisms responsible for the willingness to undertake vigorous locomotor activity. Surprisingly, the drug had no effect on the achieved level of VO2swim. Thus, the results did not allow firm conclusions concerning involvement of these neurotransmitters in evolution of increased aerobic exercise performance in the experimental evolution model system.

Tectonically active areas,such as forearc regions,commonly show contrasting relief,differential tectonic uplift,variations in erosion rates,in river incision,and in channel gradient produced by ongoing tectonic ***,information on the tectonic activity of a defined area could be derived via landscape *** study uses topography and geomorphic indices to extract signals of ongoing tectonic deformation along the Mexican subduction forearc within the Guerrero *** this purpose,we use field data,topographical data,knickpoints,the ratio of volume to area（Rva）.the stream-length gradient index（St）,and the normalized channel steepness index（k_（sn））.The results of the a.p.ied landscape analysis reveal considerable variations in relief,topography and geomorphic indices values along the Guerrero sector of the Mexican subduction *** argue that the reported differences are indicative of tectonic deformation and of variations in relative tectonic uplift along the studied forearc.A significant drop from central and eastern parts of the study area towards the west in values of R_（VA）（from ~500 to^300）,St（from ~500 to ca.400）,maximum St（from ~1500-2500 to ~ 1000） and k_（sn）（from ~150 to ~100） denotes a decrease in relative tectonic uplift in the same *** suggest that a.p.ied geomorphic indices values and forearc topography are independent of climate and *** mechanisms responsible for the observed variations and inferred changes in relative forearc tectonic uplift call for further studies that explain the physical processes that control the forearc along strike uplift variations and that determine the rates of *** proposed methodology and results obtained through this study could prove useful to scientists who study the geomorphology of forearc regions and active subduction zones.

Stress response is a cellular widespread mechanism encoded by a common protein program composed by multiple cellular factors that converge in a defense reaction to protect the cell against *** many mechanisms described,heat shock proteins were proposed as universally conserved protective factors in the stress core proteome,coping with different stress stimuli through its canonical role in protein ***,emerging evidences reveal non-canonical roles of heat shock proteins relevant for physiological and pathological ***,we review the implications of inducible heat shock proteins in the central nervous system *** particular,we discuss the relevance of heat shock proteins in the maintenance of synapses,as a balanced protective mechanism in central nervous system development,pathological conditions and aging.

Arsenic metabolism in living organisms is dependent on the ability of different arsenic species to traverse biological membranes. Simple diffusion provides an alternative influx and efflux route to mediated transport mechanisms that can increase the amount of arsenic available for metabolism in cells. Using octanol-water and liposome-water partition coefficients, the ability of arsenous acid, arsenate, methylarsonate, dimethylarsinate, thio-methylarsonate, thiodimethylarsinic acid, arsenotriglutathione and monomethylarsonic diglutathione to diffuse through the lipid bilayer of cell membranes was investigated. Molecular modelling of arsenic species was used to explain the results. All arsenic species with the exception of arsenate, methylarsonate and thio-methylarsonate were able to diffuse through the lipid bilayer of liposomes, with liposome-water partition coefficients between 0.04 and 0.13. Trivalent arsenic species and thio-pentavalent arsenic species showed higher partition coefficients, suggesting that they can easily traverse cell membranes by passive simple diffusion. Given the higher toxicity of these species compared to oxo-pentavalent arsenic species, this study provides evidence supporting the risk associated with human exposure to trivalent and thio-arsenic species.

Aberrations in protein glycosylation and polysaccharides play a.p.votal role in pancreatic tumorigenesis, influencing cancer progression, metastasis, immunoresponse and chemoresistance. Abnormal expression in sugar moieties can impact the function of various glycoproteins, including mucins, surface receptors, adhesive proteins, proteoglycans, as well as their effectors and binding ligands, resulting in an increase in pancreatic cancer invasiveness and a cancerfavored microenvironment. Recent advance in glycoproteomics, glycomics and other chemical biology techniques have been employed to better understand the complex mechanism of glycosylation events and how they orchestrate molecular activities in genomics, proteomics and metabolomics implicated in pancreatic adenocarcinoma. A variety of strategies have been demonstrated targeting protein glycosylation and polysaccharides for diagnostic and therapeutic development.

The sequestrate genus Chamonixia has been shown to have affinities to the Boletales,in particular the genus *** and Japanese species of Chamonixia were examined using morphological and molecular(ITS and nLSU rDNA)data and found to also have affinities with Leccinum and Leccinellum,however they form a distinct clade separate from the European type species *** Rolland and North American species.A new genus,Rosbeeva ***&Orihara ***.,is proposed for the Australasian,Japanese and Chinese *** species ***(petri)*** *** restricted in distribution to Singapore and Borneo,and ***(Zeller&***)*** *** New Zealand,with Australian collections considered to belong to a revised ***(***,pegler&***)*** *** a new species *** *** *** Chinese species ***(***&***)***&Orihara *** is transferred to the new genus based upon morphological *** new species from Japan,Rosbeeva eucyanea Orihara and *** Orihara,are also described and illustrated.A key to all species of Rosbeeva is *** to the highly modified gastroid sporoca.p.forms of both Chamonixia and Rosbeeva,many macroscopic characters of use in agaricoid taxonomy are difficult to ***,color change and texture of sporoca.p. are of some use to distinguish genera and *** characters such as spore shape,dimensions,and ornamentation,and pileipellis and hymenophoral trama structure,are essential for determining genera and species.
