Inpatient management of iron deficiency anemia in pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease: A single center experience

BACKGROUND s.reening for iron deficiency anemia(IDA)is important in managing pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease(IBD).Concerns.related to adverse reactions may contribute to a reluctance to prescribe intravenous(IV)iron to treat IDA in this *** To track the efficacy and safety of IV iron therapy in treating IDA in pediatric IBD patients admitted to our *** A longitudinal observational cohort study was performed on 236 consecutive pediatric patients admitted to our tertiary IBD care center between september 2017 and December 2019.92 patients met study criteria for IDA,of which 57 received IV iron,17 received oral iron,and 18 were discharged prior to receiving iron *** Patients treated with IV iron during their hospitalization experienced a significant increase of 1.9(±0.2)g/dL in mean(±sE)hemoglobin(Hb)concentration by the first ambulatory follow-up,compared to patients who received oral iron 0.8(±0.3)g/dL or no iron 0.8(±0.3)g/dL(P=0.03).One out of 57(1.8%)patients that received IV iron therapy experienced an adverse *** Our findings demonstrate that treatment with IV iron therapy is safe and efficacious in improving Hb and iron levels in pediatric patients with IDA and active IBD.

3,6-Bis-β-Dicarbonylsubstituted Carbazoles Bearing N-spacers and Their Eu(III) Complexes as Immunofluorescent Labelling Agents

New reagents for immunofluorescence analysis of carbazole series containing fluorinated β-dicarbonyl fragments and carboxylic substituent groups separated by spacers of different lengths from the light-gathering carbazole scaffold have been developed. The markers in complex with Eusup>3+sup> ions possess stability in the aqueous phase, intense and prolonged luminescence (τ 550 - 570 μs) with characteristic emission maxima in the region of 615 nm and excitation wavelengths in the region of 380 - 390 nm, which distinguishes them from most of the analogs used. In the study of marker conjugation with s.reptavidin, a reagent containing 4 - 5 europium labeling complexes based on spacer-containing carbazole tetraketone was obtained. The marker-doped silicate nanoparticles exhibit intense and long-lived luminescence in the characteristic region.

Long-term biopotential monitoring requires high-performance biocompatible wearable dry *** currently,it is challenging to establish a form-preserving fit with the skin,resulting in high interface impedance and motion *** research aims to present an innovative solution using an all-green organic dry electrode that eliminates the aforementioned *** dry electrode is prepared by introducing biocompatible maltitol into the chosen conductive polymer,poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate).Thanks to the secondary doping and plasticizer effect of maltitol,the dry electrode exhibits good s.retchability(62%),strong self-adhesion(0.46 N/cm),high conductivity(102 s/cm),and low Young's modulus(7 MPa).It can always form a conformal contact with the skin even during body *** with good electrical properties,the electrode enables a lower skin contact impedance compared to the current standard Ag/AgCl gel ***,the application of this dry electrode in bioelectrical signal meas.rement(electromyography,electrocardiography,electroencephalogra-phy)and long-term biopotential monitoring was successfully demonstrated.

According to one of the theses of optimal foraging theory,main prey species abundance in the hunting area is the main factor determining the diet and habitat choices of birds of *** other factors can also be *** habitat structure influences the predators’diets as *** this study we examined the influence of habitat structure on diet compositions of three species of birds:Long-eared Owl(Asio otus),short-eared Owl(***)and Common Kes.rel(Falco tinnunculus).The study was carried out from 2007 to 2019 in a 48 km2area of the Crane’s Homeland reserve,Moscow region,*** habitat structures of model species’hunting territories(ratio of different types of landscape elements)were classified in module"semi-Automatic Classification Plugin"based on the QGIs.A boosted regression tree analysis identified that the share of the main prey species in the diet is primarily determined by the landscape structure of hunting *** largest share of Common Vole(Microtus arvalis)in birds’diet was determined by the shrubs area(15%of hunting area),the meadow area(75%),the habitat heterogeneity(70%)and the arable land area(5%).The same predictors determined the largest share of Root Vole(Microtus oeconomus):the shrubs area 25%,the meadow area 70%,and the arable land area 3%.The annual mean abundance of prey species did not determine their importance in the diet of birds of ***,the main prey abundance in the hunting area is not a determining factor for the formation of diet composition of birds of prey.

Abstract： This paper presented the results from the study of irrigation erosion of irrigated lands in southern Ka- zakhstan. The main purpose of the work is the conservation of the fertility of irrigated soils, and then the soils of the upper, middle and lower sections of the slopes at the experimental site were studied. Based on field investigations, authors studied the water resistance of aggregates of gray-brown soils and light gray soils before and after irrigation and qualitative indicators of changes in physical and chemical properties of structured soils in irrigation were de- termined by conventional methods of soil research. The results indicated that the changes in the physical properties of soils by using polymeric compounds created a fundamentally new opportunity to control water erosion of soils.

Growth rate of CO_(2) hydrate film on water-oil and water-gaseous CO_(2) interface

It is known that injection of carbon dioxide into the petroleum reservoir(CO_(2) flooding) is one of the effective methods for enhanced oil recovery. CO_(2) flooding may be complicated by formation of CO_(2) hydrate plugs. It makes topical investigation of CO_(2) hydrate formation in the system gaseous CO_(2)-oil-water. In this work, the growth rates of carbon dioxide hydrate films at the water-oil as well as the water-gas interface are studied in the press.re range of 2.30-3.04 MPa and at temperatures between -5.4 and 5.0℃. It is found that the growth rate for the water-oil interface is 3.5 times lower than that for the water-gas interface with carbon dioxide. It is hypothesised that the observed decrease in the growth rate is.related to the mechanical resistance of the oil components adsorbed on the interface to the growth of the hydrate film. The growth rate of the film has been shown to depend on the experimental procedure,most likely due to the different initial concentrations of carbon dioxide in the aqueous solutions.

Mid-Miocene thermal impact on the lithosphere by sub-lithospheric convective mantle material:Transition from high-to moderate-Mg magmatism beneath Vitim Plateau,siberia

High-Mg lavas are characteristic of the mid-Miocene volcanism in Inner *** the Vitim Plateau,small volume high-Mg volcanics erupted at 16-14 *** were followed with voluminous moderate-Mg lavas at 14-13 *** the former unit,we have recorded a sequence of（1） initial basaltic melts,contaminated by crustal material,（2） uncontaminated high-Mg basanites and basalts of transitional（K-Na-K） compositions,and（3） picrobasalts and basalts of K series;in the latter unit a sequence of（1） initial basalts and basaltic andesites of transitional（Na-K-Na） compositions and（2） basalts and trachybasalts of K-Na *** press.re estimation,we infer that the high-Mg melts were derived from the sublithospheric mantle as deep as 150 km,unlike the moderate-Mg melts that were produced at the shallow *** 14-13 Ma rock sequence shows that initial melts equilibrated in a garnet-free mantle source with subsequently reduced degree of melting garnet-bearing *** melting of relatively depleted lithospheric material,evidenced by mantle xenoliths,was involved in melting,*** suggest that the studied transition from high-to moderate-Mg magmatism was due to the mid-Miocene thermal impact on the lithosphere by hot sub-lithospheric mantle material from the Transbaikalian low-velocity（melting） domain that had a potential temperature as high as 1510℃.This thermal impact triggered rifting in the lithosphere of the Baikal Rift Zone.
