Fast synthesis of gold nanoparticles by cold atmospheric pressure plasma jet in the presence of Au^(+) ions and a capping agent

Homogeneous gold nanoparticles were synthesized under atmospheric pressure using a nonthermal helium plasma jet in a single-step process.A current power supply was used to generate the plasma discharge rich in diverse reactive *** species induce rapid chemical reactions responsible for the reduction of the gold salts upon contact with the liquid *** this study,spherical and monodispersed gold nanoparticles were obtained within 5 min of plasma exposure using a solution containing gold(Ⅲ)chloride hydrate(HAuCl_(4))as a precursor and polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)as a capping agent to inhibit *** formation of these metal nanoparticles was initially perceptible through a visible change in the sample's color,transitioning from light yellow to a red/pink *** was subsequently corroborated by UVvis spectroscopy,which revealed an optical absorption in the 520-550 nm range for Au NPs,corresponding to the surface plasmon resonance(SPR)*** investigation into the impact of various parameters,including plasma discharge duration,precursor and capping agent concentrations,was carried out to optimize conditions for the formation of well-separated,spherical gold *** light scattering(DLS)was used to measure the size of these nanoparticles,transmission electron microscopy(TEM)was used to observe their morphology and X-ray diffraction(XRD)was also employed to determine their crystallographic *** results confirm that homogeneous spherical gold nanoparticles with an average diameter of 13 nm can be easily synthesized through a rapid,straightforward,and environmentally friendly approach utilizing a helium atmospheric pressure plasma.

Ru/NiMnB spherical cluster pillar for highly proficient green hydrogen electrocatalyst at high current density

Advanced OER/HER electrocatalytic alternatives are crucial for the wide adaptation of green hydrogen ***,Ru/NiMnB spherical cluster pillar （SCP）,denoted as Ru/NiMnB,is synthesized using a combination of electro-deposition and hydrothermal *** investigation of Ru doping in the NiMnB matrix revealed significant improvements in electrocatalytic *** Ru/NiMnB SCPs demonstrate superior OER/HER activity with low overpotentials of 150 and 103 mV at 50mA/cm2in 1 M KOH,making them highly competitive with state-of-the-art ***,the Ru/NiMnB SCPs exhibit a low 2-E cell voltage of 2.80 V at ultra-high current density of 2,000 m A/cm2in 1 M KOH,outperforming the standard benchmark electrodes of RuO2||Pt/C,thereby positioning Ru/NiMnB as one of the best bifunctional *** SCPs exhibit exceptional high-current characteristics,stability and corrosion resistance,as evidenced by continuous operation at 1,000 mA/cm2high-current density for over 150 h in 6 M KOH at elevated temperatures under harsh industrial *** a small amount of Ru incorporation significantly enhances the electrocatalytic performances of NiMnB,attributed to increased active sites and improved intrinsic properties such as conductivity,adsorption/desorption capability and reaction ***,Ru/NiMnB SCPs present a promising bi-functional electrode concept for efficient green H2production.

Pseudo-linear inertial navigation algorithm

A new method is illustrated for processing the output of a set of triad orthogonal rate gyros and accelerometers to reconstruct vehicle navigation parameters(attitude, velocity, and position). The paper introduces two vectors with dimensions 4×1 as velocity and position *** navigation equations for strapdown systems are nonlinear but after using these parameters, the navigation equations are converted into a pseudo-linear system. The new set of navigation equations has an analytical solution and the state transition matrix is used to solve the linear timevarying differential equations through time series. The navigation parameters are updated using the new formulation for strapdown navigation equations. Finally, the quaternions of velocity and position are converted into the original position and velocity vectors. The combination of the coning motion and a translational oscillatory trajectory is used to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed algorithm. The simulations show significant improvement in the accuracy of the inertial navigation system, which is achieved through the mentioned algorithm.

Phylogenetic and morphometric relationships between two species of genus Auxis from the South China Sea and Java Sea

This study was aimed at examining the phylogenetic and morphometric relationship of frigate tuna（Auxis thazard） and bullet tuna（Auxis rochei） using mt DNA D-loop（control） region sequences and truss measurements,respectively. Maximum-likelihood（ML） tree and median-joining network showed that haplotypes from Auxis populations grouped separately. Discriminant function analyses and non-metric multidimensional scaling of morphometric data showed that bullet and frigate tuna were differed mainly with respect to truss measurements on the anterior region, suggesting adaptation to different diets available in different environments. Historic demographic analyses of sequence data showed that both bullet and frigate tuna had not undergone a significant sudden population expansion recently. Non-significant value of Tajimas＇ s D and Fu＇s F_S were indicated an effective large and stable population size for longer period of both species in South China Sea and Java Sea species. This study gives first report on the complementary relationship between morphometric and genetic analysis in stock discrimination of genus Auxis.

The concept of elastic moment tensor occurs in several interesting contexts, in particular in imaging small elastic inclusions and in asymptotic models of dilute elastic composites. In this paper, we compute the elastic moment tensors for ellipses and ellipsoids by using a systematic method based on layer potentials. Our computations reveal an underlying elegant relation between the elastic moment tensors and the single layer potential.

Consider a time-harmonic electromagnetic plane wave incident on a biperiodic structure in R^3. The periodic structure separates two homogeneous regions. The medium inside the structure is chiral and nonhomogeneous. In this paper, variational formulations coupling finite element methods in the chiral medium with a method of integral equations on the periodic interfaces are studied. The well-posedness of the continuous and discretized problems is established. Uniform convergence for the coupling variational approximations of the model problem is obtained.

In this article, we study homogenization of a parabolic linear problem governed by a coefficient matrix with rapid spatial and temporal oscillations in periodically perforated domains with homogeneous Neumann data on the boundary of the holes. We prove results adapted to the problem for characterization of multiscale limits for gradients and very weak multiscale convergence.

Assistive lower limb exoskeleton robot has been developed to help paraplegic patients walk again.A gait planning method of this robot must be able to plan a gait based on gait parameters,which can be changed during the stride according to human intention or walking *** gait is usually planned in cartesian space,which has shortcomings such as singularities that may occur in inverse kinematics equations,and the angular velocity of the joints cannot be entered into the ***,it is vital to have a gait planning method in the joint *** this paper,a minimum-time and minimum-jerk planner is proposed for the robot *** do so,a third-order system is defined,and the cost function is introduced to minimize the jerk of the joints throughout the *** minimum time required is calculated to keep the angular velocity trajectory within the range specified by the motor’s maximum *** conditions of the joints are determined to secure backward balance and fulfill gait ***,the proposed gait planning method is tested by its implementation on the Exoped®exoskeleton.

Investigation on the Local Scour Beneath Piggyback Pipelines Under Clear-Water Conditions

A piggyback pipeline consists of two pipes such that the secondary line rides on the main pipe with a fixed distance between two pipes in *** novel strategy is utilized in offshore areas instead of a single flow *** this regard,there are only a handful of experimental and numerical studies investigating the effect of scour below a piggyback pipeline under steady ***,this study focuses on examining the influential factors on scouring due to steady current including the pipe diameter and the gap between pipes through numerical simulations and experimental ***,at the first phase of the research,a single pipe was established and tested in laboratory to compare the results with those of an empirical *** finishing experimental verifications,piggyback pipelines were also assembled to study the scouring under steady current *** was concluded that by increasing the gap distance between the pipes,the maximum scour depth decreases;however,an increase in the small pipe’s diameter results in a larger maximum scour ***,numerical simulations were carried out using the FLOW-3D software which was found to be a suitable tool for the numerical investigation of this ***,the numerical results have been compared with the corresponding experimental data and a relatively good agreement was achieved between them.

Role of social and individual experience in interaction of the meadow ant Formica pratensis （Hymenoptera： Formicidae） with ladybird imagines and hoverfly larvae

The ability to recognize aphidophages is one of the key points in the protection ants provide aphids against their natural enemies. Behavior of honeydew collectors from nature （＂field,＂ control） and laboratory reared ＂naive＂ ants of Formica pratensis Retzius, which had never met either ＂mature＂ workers or aphids and aphidophages, was observed during their pairwise interactions with ladybird imagines and hoverfly larvae. The majority of the ＂naive＂ ants perceived ladybirds as an enemy at their first encounter attacking them immediately without any prior antennation. Ants seem to have a certain innate ＂enemy image＂ that lets them react very quickly to protect aphids. Hoverfly larvae were rarely attacked by both ＂field＂ and ＂naive＂ ants （〉 15%）. During tests with ladybirds ants from nature attacked them and also demonstrated the most aggressive reactions （series of bites and ＂death grip＂） less frequently than the ＂naive＂ ants. The percentage of ants avoiding aphidophages after a contact with their chemical defense （reflex bleeding and glue-like saliva） was significantly higher in the control group. Whereas the ＂naive＂ ants did not learn to avoid danger, foragers from nature usually tried to avoid negative experience and used tactics of ＂short bites.＂ Overall, experience has been proved to be unimportant for displaying key behavioral reactions underlying ant-ladybird interaction. However, accumulation of experience has been assumed to play an important role in the formation of behavioral strategy that allows honeydew collectors to drive aphidophages away with lower energy costs and avoid or minimize negative consequences of aphidophages＇ chemical defense.
