In addition to their canonical roles in regulating cell cycle transition and transcription,cyclin-dependent kinases(CDKs)have been shown to coordinate DNA damage response pathways,suggesting a rational pairing of CDK inhibitors with genotoxic chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of human ***,we report that roniciclib(BAY1000394),a potent pan-CDK inhibitor,displays promising anti-neoplastic activity as a single agent and potentiates cisplatin lethality in preclinical nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)*** of the NPC cell lines HONE-1,CNE-2,C666-1,and HK-1 was effectively curbed by roniciclib treatment,with IC_(50)values between 11 and 38 nmol/*** anticancer effects were mediated by pleiotropic mechanisms consistent with successful blockade of cell cycle CDKs 1,2,3,and 4 and transcriptional CDKs 7 and 9,ultimately resulting in arrest at G1/S and G2/M,downregulation of the transcriptional apparatus,and repression of anti-apoptotic *** enhanced tumor cell apoptosis was achieved following combined treatment with 10 nmol/L roniciclib and 2.0μmol/L cisplatin;this combination therapy achieved a response over 250%greater than either drug *** roniciclib chemosensitized NPC cells to cisplatin,it did not sensitize untransformed(NP69)*** administration of 0.5 mg/kg roniciclib to BALB/c xenograft mice was well tolerated and effectively restrained tumor growth comparable to treatment with 6 mg/kg cisplatin,whereas combining these two agents produced far greater tumor suppression than either of the *** summary,these data demonstrate that roniciclib has strong anti-NPC activity and synergizes with cisplatin chemotherapy at clinically relevant doses,thus justifying further evaluation of this combinatorial approach in clinical settings.

通过对饮用水中常见的两种不同细菌——琼氏不动杆菌(Acinetobacter junii,革兰氏阴性)和松鼠葡萄球菌(Staphylococcus sciuri,革兰氏阳性)在UFC条件下进行加氯消毒试验,分别测定两种细菌的生长曲线、细菌特性的标准曲线、总有机碳(TOC)、不同消毒时间的耗氯量,分析两种细菌耗氯量之间的差别以及吸光度之间的差别,以此推断DBPs产生量的区别,研究不同的细菌种类是否对消毒副产物的产生具有影响。研究结果表明,两种细菌的耗氯量Dt和吸光度差值ΔUV254都随着TOC浓度的增加和反应时间的延长而增大;细菌的单位耗氯量SDt和单位THM生成势都随着反应时间的延长而增加。

Effect of head tilt on repeatability of optic nerve head parameters using Cirrus spectral-domain optical coherence tomography

AIMTo assess the repeatability of measuring optic nerve head (ONH) parameters using the Cirrus optical coherence tomography (OCT), as well as to assess the effect of head tilt on these *** healthy participants with no evidence of glaucoma were recruited for the study. Visual acuity, intraocular pressure, standard automated perimetry and ocular examination were performed for each participant. One eye was then randomly selected and scanned undilated with the Cirrus OCT in 3 positions (neutral, 30° right tilt and 30° left tilt).RESULTSData collected from 29 eyes were used for analysis. One patient was omitted due to poor scan quality. The repeatability of the ONH parameters was analyzed using analysis of variance, coefficient of variation (COV) and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Analysis of variance showed no statistically significant difference between 3 scans in a single position. There was good agreement between measurements (ICC 0.919-0.996, COV 1.94%-5.48%). Even with the presence of head tilt, repeated scans in the 3 positions showed good agreement as well (ICC 0.888-0.996, COV 2.04%-5.39%).CONCLUSIONSerial measurements of ONH parameters using the Cirrus OCT are found to have good repeatability. The ONH parameters with Cirrus OCT also maintain good repeatability despite head tilt.

The surface roughness, hardness and tribological properties of tungsten (W) and tung- sten nitride (WN_x) thin films prepared by dc magnetron sputtering and reactive magnetron sputter- ing in Ar-N_2 gas mixtures have been studied using atomic force microscopy (AFM), nanoindenta- tion measurements and ball-on-disc wear testing. A pronounced surface roughness was observed only for films under compressive strains. The surface was flat under tension but rough under com- pression. Similar hardness with value about 20 GPa were observed in the W and WN_x (x=0.3) films. This is thought to be due to the fact the grains are restricted to a very small size in the coat- ings. The higher coefficients of friction (0.4 for W and 0.9 for WN_(0.3)) suggest that WN_(0.3) is not the optimum phase. Finally, discussions are made with tribological test results.

The increase in climate change raises the awareness of societal stakeholders to act as key-drivers in motivating and pushing corporations to monitor their sustainability data transparency, analyse their operations performance, and improve their operations related to environment, social governance, and corporate social responsibility. This paper evaluates the current importance of the societal stakeholders that impact the compliance of companies towards these environmental, social and governance practices in their supply chain operations. The latest review on the sustainability reporting and its data analytics are carried out, followed by a review of the development of a sustainability reporting and data analytics model, including sustainability software and online platforms in facilitating and supporting supply chain practitioners in their decision-making process. The model has been further developed as a dashboard and applied to a maritime supply chain firm. A case analysis has been conducted to illustrate the importance of analytics data in supporting complex decision-making process. Additional intelligent data analytics functionalities are recommended as future development for the sustainability reporting and data analytics dashboard in supply chain operations.

Complications and Costs Associated with Initiation of Anti-coagulation Therapy Using Warfarin--An Observation Study

To evaluate the safety and cost of anticoagulation therapy in patients newly initiated on warfarin in two institutions in Singapore. All patients newly started on warfarin between December 2011 and May 2012 were recruited and followed up for a period of 6 months. All hospitalization attributed to complications of warfarin therapy, number of INR （international normalized ratio） greater than 4 and total cost of warfarin therapy were collected and analysed. A total of 321 patients were newly initiated on warfarin for standard indications were recruited. At the end of 6 month period, 8.4% of patients were hospitalized for complication related to warfarin therapy. For patients who had stable INR while on warfarin, this rate was almost 2 times lower （3.8% vs 8.4%）. In our study group, patients started on warfarin as inpatients had higher rates of bleeding （15.1% vs 6.7%） and more 1NRs greater than 4 （0.7 per patient vs 0.11 per patient）. The cost of initating warfarin was USD660 over the first 6 months of therapy. Patients newly initiated on warfarin were at a heightened risk of bleeding complications as compared to patients already stable on warfarin therapy. This also translates to considerable costs of warfarin initiation.

为了研究图像压缩与加密同步进行问题,本文提出了一种在变换域下的图像加密与压缩关联算法在该算法中,加密过程发生在小波变换与SPIHT编码之间它充分利用了离散小波变换和基于层次树的集合划分(set partitioningin hierarchical trees,SPIHT)编码属性,扩散过程被限制在单个子带内部.此外,混淆过程保留了SPIHT编码中两个最重要的位和符号位,它包含了图像的重要信息.实验结果表明,算法具有良好的安全性、图像重构视觉质量以及很高的加/解密速度.

Agreement of angle closure assessments between gonioscopy, anterior segment optical coherence tomography and spectral domain optical coherence tomography

AIM: To determine angle closure agreements between gonioscopy and anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT), as well as gonioscopy and spectral domain OCT(SD-OCT). A secondary objective was to quantify inter-observer agreements of AS-OCT and SD-OCT ***: Seventeen consecutive subjects(33 eyes)were recruited from the study hospital’s Glaucoma *** was performed by a glaucomatologist masked to OCT results. OCT images were read independently by 2 other glaucomatologists masked to gonioscopy findings as well as each other’s analyses of OCT ***: Totally 84.8% and 45.5% of scleral spurs were visualized in AS-OCT and SD-OCT images respectively(P <0.01). The agreement for angle closure between AS-OCT and gonioscopy was fair at k =0.31(95% confidence interval, CI: 0.03-0.59) and k =0.35(95%CI: 0.07-0.63) for reader 1 and 2 respectively. The agreement for angle closure between SD-OCT and gonioscopy was fair at k =0.21(95% CI: 0.07-0.49) and slight at k =0.17(95% CI: 0.08-0.42) for reader 1 and 2 respectively. The inter-reader agreement for angle closure in AS-OCT images was moderate at 0.51(95% CI: 0.13-0.88). The inter-reader agreement for angle closure in SD-OCT images was slight at 0.18(95% CI: 0.08-0.45).CONCLUSION: Significant proportion of scleral spurs were not visualised with SD-OCT imaging resulting in weaker inter-reader agreements. Identifying other angle landmarks in SD-OCT images will allow more consistent angle closure assessments. Gonioscopy and OCT imaging do not always agree in angle closure assessments but have their own advantages, and should be used together and not exclusively.
