The nematode Caenorhabditis elegans has been extensively used as a model multicellular organism to study the influence of osmotic stress conditions and the toxicity of chemical compounds on developmental and motility-associated ***,the several-day culture of nematodes needed for such studies has caused researchers to explore *** particular,*** embryos,due to their shorter developmental time and immobile nature,could be exploited for this purpose,although usually their harvesting and handling is ***,we present a multiplexed,high-throughput and automated embryo phenotyping microfluidic approach to observe *** embryogenesis after the application of different chemical *** performing experiments with up to 800 embryos per chip and up to 12h of time-lapsed imaging per embryo,the individual phenotypic developmental data were collected and analyzed through machine learning and image processing *** proof-of-concept platform indicates developmental lag and the induction of mitochondrial stress in embryos exposed to high doses(200mm)of glucose and NaCl,while small doses of sucrose and glucose were shown to accelerate ***,our new technique has potential for use in large-scale developmental biology studies and opens new avenues for very rapid high-throughput and high-content screening using *** embryos.

A field trial was conducted to evaluate the role of boron （B） application at different growth stages in improving the growth,yield and net economic return of rice at farmer＇s fields during summer season,*** was soil applied （1.5 kg/hm2） at the transplanting,tillering,flowering and grain formation stages of rice;foliar applied （1.5% B solution） at the tillering,flowering and grain formation stages of rice,and dipped seedling roots in 1.5% B solution before transplanting;while control plots did not apply any *** application （except dipping of seedling roots in B solution,which caused toxicity and reduced the number of tillers and straw yield than control） substantially improved the rice growth and ***,soil application was better in improving the number of grains per panicle,1000-grain weight,grain yield,harvest index,net economic income and ratio of benefit to cost compared with the rest of ***,for improving rice performance and maximizing the net economic returns,B might be applied as soil application at flowering.

中国宝钢集团浦东钢铁公司签订了建设一座年产能力为150万 t 铁水的COREXC-3000厂的合同,这是 COREX 技术发展的一座新的里程碑。这一型号是现有 COREX 生产设备的升级,充分借鉴了现有生产厂的经验。原材料方面的变化(焦炭、焦煤、热力煤等的价格),能源(天然气、电力等等)成本的普遍上涨,再加上操作方面积累的宝贵经验,这些都使得现在有必要对 COREX 技术和高炉技术进行认真的分析比较。另外一项新技术 FINEX也有新发展。目前,FINEX 示范厂正在运行,年产能力为150万 t 铁水的 FINEX 1．5m 厂正在浦项钢铁公司的浦项厂进行建设。本文的重点之一是描述 COREX 技术的发展,介绍 COREX 生产厂的现状,展示 COREX 工艺的新进展和特点;另外一个重点是介绍 FINEX 工艺的现状和进一步发展的方向。

Hepatitis A virus, hm-175 strain, adapted to low temperature was cultivated in BSC-1 cell *** of the virus was detected by radioimmunoassay(RIA), radioimmunofocus assay (RIFA) and dot blot hybridization. The results showed that, of the 7 low temperature-adapted(LTA) strains studied, strain E, F and D gave the highest titer in BSC-1 cell culture. This culture system was proved to be suitable for the study of the characteristic of temperature mutants of HAV.

Autotrophic ammonia-oxidizing bacteria （AOB） have been widely studied in constructed wetlands systems, while mixotrophic AOB have been less thoroughly examined. Heterotrophic bacteria were isolated from wastewater and rhizospheres of macrophytes of constructed wetlands, and then cultivated in a mixotrophic medium containing ammonium and acetic acid. A molecular characterization was accomplished using ITS-PCR amplification, and phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene Sequences. Results showed the presence of 35 bacteria, among 400 initially heterotrophic isolates, that were able to remove ammonia. These 35 isolates were classified into 10 genetically different groups based on ITS pattern. Then, a collection of 10 isolates were selected because of their relatively high ammonia removal efficiencies （ARE≥ 80%） and their phylogenetic diversity. In conditions of mixotrophy, these strains were shown to be able to grow （increase of optical density od660 during incubation with assimilation of nitrogen into cellular biomass） and to oxidize ammonia （important ammonia oxidation efficiencies, AOE between 79% and 87%）. Among these facultative mixotrophic AOB, four isolates were genetically related to Firmicutes （Bacillus and Exiguobacterium）, three isolates were affiliated to Actinobacteria （Arthrobacter） and three other isolates were associated with Proteobacteria （Pseudomonas, Ochrobactrum and Bordetella）.

Runoff and soil losses from agricultural fields are investigated as major nonpoint sources of phosphorus (P) entering lakes of Eastern China. There is relatively little information on P transport from ricefield and cropland of Lake Taihu watershed in Eastern China. Soil and P in surface runoff from a series of plots in the watershed were evaluated under simulated rainfall conditions. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effects of crop cover, slope, and fertilizer application on P concentrations in surface runoff and eroded soil. Accumulated sediment yields varied from 7.1 to 300 g/m2 for croplands, depending on management practices. For all experiment plots, weighted average concentrations of total-P (TP), dissolved P (DP) and particulate P (PP) are much higher than 0.02 mg/L, the limiting concentration for lake water. This result showed the potential contamination of lake water from agricultural surface runoff. Accumulated TP losses were 3.8 and 18.8 mg/m2 for ricefield and cropland, respectively. The estimated annual loss of TP was 0.74 kg/(hm2 · a) for cropland. most of P loss is in the PP form, which accounts for more than 90% of TP loss for cropland.

Respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)is the most common cause of viral bronchiolitis among children worldwide,yet there is no vaccine for RSV *** study investigates the potential of cube and sphere-shaped cerium oxide nanoparticles(CNP)to modulate reactive oxygen(ROS)and nitrogen(RNS)species and immune cell phenotypes in the presence of RSV infection in vitro and in *** and sphere-shaped CNP were synthesized by hydrothermal and ultrasonication methods,***-chemical characterization confirmed the shape of sphere and cube CNP and effect of various parameters on their particle size distribution and zeta *** vitro results revealed that sphere and cube CNP differentially modulated ROS and RNS levels in J774 ***,cube CNP significantly reduced RSV-induced ROS levels without affecting RNS levels while sphere CNP increased RSV-induced RNS levels with minimal effect on ROS *** CNP drove an m1 phenotype in RSV-infected macrophages in vitro by increasing macrophage surface expression of CD80 and CD86 with a concomitant increase in TNFαand IL-12p70,while simultaneously decreasing m2 CD206 *** administration of sphere and cube-CNP were well-tolerated with no observed toxicity in BALB/c ***,cube CNP preferentially accumulated in murine alveolar macrophages and induced their activation,avoiding enhanced uptake and activation of other inflammatory cells such as neutrophils,which are associated with RSV-mediated *** conclusion,we report that sphere and cube CNP modulate macrophage polarization and innate cellular responses during RSV infection.

The aim of this study was to identify inflammation-associated markers during the early phase of sepsis in rhesus macaque. Four rhesus macaques were given an intravenous dose of 1010 CFU/kg of E. coli. Blood samples were collected before, or 30 minutes, 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours after E. coli infusion. Physiological parameters, bacteremia, endotoxemia, C-reactive protein(CRP), procalcitonin(PCT), and plasma cytokines/chemokines were determined for each animal. Bacteremia was present in all animals from 30 minutes to 3 hours after E. coli infusion whereas endotoxin was detected during the full-time course. CRP and PCT levels remained at detectable levels during the whole experimental window suggesting an ongoing inflammatory process. Signature cytokines and chemokines such as TNF-α, mIP-1α, and mIP-1β peaked about 2 hours after E. coli infusion and decreased thereafter. Plasma IL-6, IL-12 p40, IFN-γ, and IL-1 Ra, as well as I-TAC, mIG, IP-10 and mCP-1, remained at detectable levels after 4 hours of E. coli infusion. This nonhuman primate model could be useful for the assessment of new therapeutics aiming to suppress key inflammatory markers throughout sepsis early phases.
