Objective:To identify the impact of COVID-19 on endourology surgical practice in Saudi ***:A retrospective study of seven tertiary hospitals from January 2019 to April 2019,and from January 2020 to April 2020 was *** of urology outpatient department(OPD)visits and endourology procedures in the first third of 2020 were analyzed and compared with those in the first third of 2019,as well as,during the full curfew time,*** 2020 versus April ***:Number of OPD visits in the first third of 2020 and 2019 were 19499 and 26594,respectively(p75%,including OPD visits and elective endourology *** hospitals have changed their strategic preventive measures by increasing the rate of teleclinics and day surgeries.

Eighteen specimens of the soft coral Sarcophyton glaucum have been collected and tagged to determine the growth rate using the weight variations technique and to investigate the reproductive season histologically. Six colonies were totally weighed and 12 fragments (produced from three colonies) were marked and weighed. Some samples showed sever shrinkage that lead to death. The maximum semiannual growth rate was recorded in summer (30.05 gm/6 m). The average monthly growth reached 3.95 gm/month. Many factors affect the growth rate such as water currents, turbidity, sedimentation, temperature and reproduction process. The studied species is a dioecious species (unisex), where the Autozooid polyps are the reproductive organs while siphonozooids are sterile. Female gonads were observed to develop at late July before male gonads which began at late September. Larvae releasing started at late January and the gonads are completely spawned in February. Fertilization occurs internally to form planulae larvae which librated completely in February. The oogenesis exhibited prolonged about 23 months, which gave rise to oocytes of different developmental stages in female colonies at any given time, and a spermatogenic cycle of only 10 - 12 months.

Hypoxia, due to impaired cerebral blood flow, has hazardous effects on brain structure and function. To minimize as much as possible the neurological consequences from hypoxic-ischemic (HI) brain injury, neuro-protective strategies are urgently required. Vitamin E has been shown to have protective effects against cerebral ischemia, possibly due to its anti-oxidant effects. Thirty albino rats, of both sexes, were obtained from the animal house at King Khalid University Hospital, King Saud University. They were divided into three groups;each included 10 animals: Group A was considered as a control one, animals of Group B were subjected to a permanent link to the carotid arteries on both sides and animals of Group C underwent permanent link to carotid arteries on both sides and concomitantly were given Vitamin E as an anti-oxidant. Animals of Group C were injected by Vitamin E (equivalent to 15 mg/day), into the peritoneal cavity as a single dose for a week and after the prescribed period the mice were sacrificed under deep anesthesia and their brains were extracted and prepared for an electron microscopic study of brain tissue. Specimens from animals of Group B showed a large number of neurons that had been deteriorated. Mitochondria were the most affected organelles. There were a large number of dark cells which probably resulted from shrunken nerve cells and exhibited opaque nuclei. The number of affected nerve cells was much lower in brain tissues from animals of the Group C which revealed absence of dark cells. The study did not disclose any similar changes in brain tissues of the control group animals. Our results suggested that treatment with Vitamin E after hypoxia-ischemia led to a neuro-protective effect that appeared in reduction of cell death of neurons. Thus, the present study provides an evidence that Vitamin E protects the brain tissue of the consequences of hypoxia caused by ischemia in the tested experimental animals. Pleuroperitoneal Leak (PPL) is a rare, but serious complication of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD). It is the result of congenital or acquired communication between the 2 peritoneal and pleural cavities, and is often linked to high Intra-Abdominal Pressures (IAP). Its diagnosis is clinical, radiological and biological. In this article, we report 10 cases of PPL identified over a period of 13 years (2006-2019), that is to say, a prevalence of 5%. We suspected the diagnosis of FPP in front of dyspnea alone in 5 cases (50%), dyspnea associated with cough in 4 cases (40%). Catheter migration was reported in 5 patients (50% of cases). None of our patients presented with peritonitis before FPP. The pleurisy was right in 7 patients (70%). The exploratory puncture of the Pleural Fluid (PF) was performed in 3 patients, and which showed results consistent with the PD fluid. The drop in infusion volumes was required in 4 patients (40%) with an increase in the number of daily exchanges of CAPD with IVs ranges from 1200 - 1500 ml. PD was suspended in 6 patients (60%) for an average of 40 days (21 days - 60 days), 2 withdrawals from the technique were reported after the 2nd recurrence (20%). PD was stopped straight away in 1 patient with a hypo-permeable peritoneum with unsatisfactory residual renal function and a second who freely chose to stay in HD. The clinical cases presented show the great variability of FPP in terms of clinical and radiological presentation and therapeutic management, and focus on the significant risk of a transient or permanent withdrawal from the technique. According to literature data, Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery appears to be promising in the event of failure of conservative treatment, and will thus prolong the survival of the technique.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.
