Novel technique of insulin loading into porous carriers for oral delivery

the increasing demand for oral macromolecule delivery encouraged the development of mi-croencapsulation technologies to protect such drugs against gastric and enzymatic degra-dation. However, microencapsulation often requires harsh conditions that may jeopardizetheir biological activity. Accordingly, many trials attempted to load macromolecules intoporous drug carriers to bypass any formulation induced instability. In this study, we pre-pared chitosan coated porous poly(d, l-lactide-co-glycolide)(PLGA) microparticles(MPs)loaded with insulin using a novel loading technique; double freeze-drying. the resultsshowed a significant increase in drug loading using only 5 mg/ml initial insulin concen-tration and conveyed a sustained drug release over uncoated MPs. Furthermore, SEM andconfocal microscopy confirmed pore blocking and insulin accumulation within the MPs re-spectively. the oral pharmacodynamic data on rats also proved the preservation of insulinbioactivity after formulation. Finally, the new coating technique proved to be efficient inproducing robust layer of chitosan with higher insulin loading while maintaining insulinactivity.

this paper examines the critical role of innovations as a driver for sustainable competitive advantages. A quadruple model of global strategy is introduced. the model is based on the introduction of an innovation-based perspective of strategy. this is in addition to the other three but well-known perspectives of global strategy （industry-based, resource-based, and institution-based views）. thus, the four perspectives of strategy could lead a complete set of factors that need to be analyzed for the formulation of global strategy. the model could assist organizations in sustaining their competitive advantages. It is proposed that the introduction of the innovation-based view represents the fourth perspective of a strategy quadruple, thus overcoming a long-standing criticism, namely, the global strategy may lack adequate attention to innovation in developing a firms＇ global competitive strategies. this paper presents a set of four hypotheses. When tested, these hypotheses could result in a better understanding of the link between the innovation and the global strategy domain. Furthermore, the quadruple model could be useful in understanding the relationship between innovativeness and business performance. It is anticipated that this paper could assist researchers, business management, and analysts in developing global innovation strategies.

this paper examines the role of transformational leadership in transforming an organization into a knowledge based, then into learning organization so that it becomes an innovative company. Important features of the leader such and ability to assist in developing and accommodating the implementation of knowledge management programs, learning organization concepts and innovation protocols are discussed in this paper. this paper demonstrates that shifting the organization to become a knowledge based and then to be learning organization and finally to become innovative company could involve some unique attributes of a transformation leadership. In that regards, the paper also demonstrates that organizations need first to create, capture, transfer, and mobilize knowledge before it can be used for learning and then for innovation. the paper will present a method of a studying how successful innovation leaders of companies could found themselves acting in three roles namely： knowledge leader, learning leader and then innovation leader.

Objectives: to evaluate antifouling property of extracts from Red Sea soft corals against primary biofilm and ***: Seven species of soft corals Sarcophyton glaucum(a), Sinularia compressa,Sinularia cruciata(a), Heteroxenia fuscescens(a), Sarcophyton glaucum(b), Heteroxenia fuscescens(b) and Sinularia cruciata(b) were chosen to test their extracts as antibacterial and antifouling agents in Eastern Harbour of Alexandria, Mediterranean *** compounds of soft corals were extracted by using methanol and concentrated under vacuum. the residues of extracts were mixed in formulation of inert paint which consisted of rosin, chlorinated rubber and ferrous oxide against micro and macro fouling organisms. the formulated paints were then applied on PVC panels twice by brush,hanged in a steel frame and immersed in Eastern Harbour of Alexandria Mediterranean Sea followed by visual inspection and photographic ***: After 185 days of immersion in seawater, the antifouling results agreed with the antibacterial results where extracts of Sinularia compressa and Heteroxenia fuscescens(b) gave the best activity against marine fouling tubeworms and barnacles. the inhibition activity was correlated with the major functional groups(hydroxyl, amino, carbonyl,aliphatic(fatty acids), C]C of alkene or aromatic rings and CeC l of aryl halides) of the ***: the strong antifouling activity makes them promising candidates for new antifouling additives. After the screening and application of natural organic compounds from soft corals, marine organisms show activity against micro and macro fouling organisms.

Intensity of competition, especially global competition, has driven many organizations to search for innovative ways to improve productivity and performance. this trend has led many firms to adopt approaches to implement cloud systems. Cloud systems have distinct characteristics that differentiate it from traditional internet services, due to a number of significant innovation factors. For example, firms need improved access to high-speed intemet as well as access to customer relationship management （CRM） and enterprise resource planning （ERP） capacities. this means that the interest of many firms in the implementation of cloud systems has increased. Although cloud systems are designed to facilitate knowledge transfer, currently, there is no method to ensure that knowledge transfer is useful or relevant to a firm. this in turn means that finns need to ensure that the cloud system has the capabilities to screen knowledge for compliance against some known knowledge characteristics. the use of cloud systems could result in an efficient delivery of innovation knowledge in an effective way. this paper presents an approach for assessment of the successful implementation of cloud systems. this paper also discusses the various success factors of cloud systems for global innovation.

AIM to determine if end-stage renal disease (ESRD) is a risk factor for post endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP) adverse events (AEs). MEtHODS We performed a retrospective cohort study using the Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) 2011-2013. We identified adult patients who underwent ERCP using the International Classification of Diseases 9^(th) Revision (ICD-9-CM). Included patients were divided into three groups: ESRD, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and control. the primary outcome was post-ERCP AEs including pancreatitis, bleeding, and perforation determined based on specific ICD-9-CM codes. Secondary outcomes were length of hospital stay, in-hospital mortality, and admission cost. AEs and mortality were compared using multivariate logistic regression *** there were 492175 discharges that underwent ERCP during the 3 years. the ESRD and CKD groups contained 7347 and 39403 hospitalizations respectively, whereas the control group had 445424 hospitalizations. Post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) was significantly higher in the ESRD group (8.3%) compared to the control group (4.6%) with adjusted odd ratio (aOR) = 1.7 (95% CI: 1.4-2.1, ~aP ted with significantly higher ERCP-related bleeding (5.1%) compared to the control group 1.5% (aOR = 1.86, 95%CI: 1.4-2.4, ~aP tal mortality 7.1% vs 1.15% in the control OR = 6.6 (95%CI: 5.3-8.2, ~aP tal stay with adjusted mean difference (aMD) = 5.9 d (95% CI: 5.0-6.7 d, ~aP talization charges aMD = $+82064 (95%CI: $68221-$95906, ~aP tor for post-ERCP AEs and is associated with higher hospital mortality. Careful selection and close monitoring is warranted to improve outcomes.

the Internet of things(Iot)is a recent technology,which implies the union of objects,“things”,into a single worldwide *** promising paradigm faces many design challenges associated with the dramatic increase in the number of *** identification is one of these challenges that becomes complicated with the increase of network *** this,there is still no universally accepted method of identifying things that would satisfy all requirements of the existing Iot devices and *** this regard,one of the most important problems is choosing an identification system for all Iot devices connected to the public communication *** unique soft-ware and hardware solutions are used as a unique global identifier;however,such solutions have many *** article proposes a novel solution,based on the Digital Object Architecture(DOA),that meets the requirements of identifying devices and applications of the *** work analyzes the benefits of using the DOA as an identification platform in modern telecommunication *** propose a model of an identification system based on the architecture of digital objects,which differs from the well-known *** proposed model ensures an acceptable quality of service(QoS)in the common architecture of the existing public communication networks.A novel interaction architecture is developed by introducing a Middle Handle Register(MHR)between the global register,i.e.,Global Handle Register(GHR),and local register,i.e.,Local Handle Register(LHR).the aspects of the network interaction and the compatibility of Iot end-devices with the integrated DOA identifiers in heterogeneous communication networks are *** developed model is simulated for a wide-area network with allocated registers,and the results are introduced and discussed.
