Stem cells in neuroinjury and neurodegenerative disorders: challenges and future neurotherapeutic prospects

The prevalence of neurodegenerative diseases and neural injury disorders is increasing worldwide. Research is now focusing on improving current neurogenesis techniques including neural stem cell therapy and other biochemical drug-based approaches to ameliorate these disorders. Unfortunately, we are still facing many obstacles that are rendering current neurotherapies ineffective in clinical trials for reasons that are yet to be discovered. That is why we should start by fully understanding the complex mechanisms of neurogenesis and the factors that affect it, or else, all our suggested therapies would fail since they would not be targeting the essence of the neurological disorder but rather the symptoms. One possible paradigm shift is to switch from neuroprotectant therapies towards neurodegeneration/neurorestorative approaches. In addition, other and our laboratories are increasingly focusing on combining the use of pharmacological agents（such as Rho-associated kinase（ROCK） inhibitors or other growth factors（such as brain-derived neurotrophic factor（BDNF）） and stem cell treatment to enhance the survivability and/or differentiation capacity of transplanted stem cells in neurotrauma or other neurodegeneration animal models. Ongoing stem cell research is surely on the verge of a breakthrough of multiple effective therapeutic options for neurodegenerative disorders. Once, we fully comprehend the process of neurogenesis and its components, we will fully be capable of manipulating and utilizing it. In this work, we discuss the current knowledge of neuroregenerative therapies and their associated challenges.

A greenhouse experiment was conducted to evaluate the comparison of nutrient use efficiency,antioxidant assay,and nutritional quality of butter-head lettuce in five cultivation *** this experimental study,a split-boxes experimental arrangement in a completely randomized design(CRD)with three aeroponics systems(high pressure(T1),low pressure(T2),and ultrasonic nozzle(T3)),hydroponic system(T4),and conventional cultivation system(T5)was *** analyses of variance(ANOVA)were employed to assess yield,chlorophyll content,relative water content(RWC),nutrient use efficiency(NUE),2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DDPh),hydrogen Peroxide(h2O2),Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power(FRAP),total phenolic(TPC),flavonoid content(TFC)and nutritional quality of butter-head *** experimental comparative results indicated that the shoot and root(fresh and dry)weight,root-to-shoot ratio,chlorophyll contents,CWC,NUE,DDPh,h 2O 2,FRAP,TPC,TFC,nitrate,vitamin C,and protein level were significantly(phigher in T 2 treatment,and the values were significantly(pmentioned earlier,the median values of the above-mentioned parameters were measured in aeroponics systems with low-pressure nozzle(T 3).It also found a strong positive correlation(r>0.7)among the Shoot(FW),Chlorophyll,RWC,NUE,and among TPC,TFC,DDPh,h 2O 2,and *** study demonstrates that butter-head lettuce grown in aeroponics systems with high-pressure nozzles may serve as a potential dietary source and is rich in natural antioxidants.

Sustainable Guideline for Developing the E-Waste Sector in Egypt

The amount of electronic waste generated globally is alarming especially that it is on the rise. The impact of the generated amounts is not only Environmental. The electronic waste sector is unregulated in most developing countries;this results in the informal sector being heavily involved in managing and handling it. Due to the lack of regulations, informal handlers are exposed to hazardous materials that affect both their health and health of the communities living in their proximity. moreover, the informal sector involves illegal child and women labor under harsh conditions. In addition to the social impact, the lack of regulations leads to missing major economic opportunities associated with developing a recycling industry for the safe handling and material recovery from the generated e-waste volumes. electronic waste may contain up to 60 different materials including precious and rare-earth metals with estimated equivalent economic value of 48 billion Euros. Egypt is one the countries which lack policies and regulations dedicated to e-waste, hence the Egyptian economy is missing the economic potential and job creation opportunities associated with developing the e-waste sector as well as facing major Environmental and health challenges due to the improper handling of the generated amounts. This paper briefly reviews the current situation of e-waste in Egypt. The paper then proposes an adapted guideline for the sustainable management of e-waste in Egypt. The guideline is based on the international regulations and guidelines especially those of countries similar to the Egyptian socioeconomic context. The produced guideline focuses on establishing a collection and recycling framework for e-waste in Egypt with EPR at its center. The guideline also establishes a financing system to help foster the recycling industry in Egypt while fulfilling the three main pillars of sustainability.

AIm:To study serum levels of leptin and adiponectin in patients with chronic hepatitis C virus infection genotype-4(hCV-4) related steatosis and ***:We prospectively studied 45 untreated men with chronic hCV-4,with proven steatosis(group Ⅰ,30 patients),and fibrosis(group Ⅱ,15 patients),on liver *** addition,15 healthy men(group Ⅲ),matched for age,and body mass index were ***,we excluded another five patients with steatohepatitis,and six patients with *** measured total serum leptin and adiponectin levels,as potential predictors for liver steatosis and ***,a correlation between these adipokines and various clinical and laboratory data were *** subjects were selected from Tropical and Internal medicine departments,menoufiya University hospital,menoufiya,Egypt,during the period from February 2010 to August ***:In group Ⅰ,severity of hepatic steatosis was mild,moderate,and severe,in 19 patients(63.5%),8 patients(26.5%),and 3 patients(10%),*** contrast,in group Ⅱ,hepatic fibrosis was found to be in stage 1,2,and 3,in 6 patients(40%),in 6 patients(40%),and in 3 patients(20%),*** comparing group Ⅰ with group Ⅱ,there was a significant decrease in serum adiponectin levels(131.4 ± 7.91 pg/mL vs 436 ± 9.75 pg/mL,P hile there was no significant difference between both groups regarding serum leptin levels(34.69 ± 7.69 ng/mL vs 35.17 ± 1.06 ng/mL,P > 0.05).however,in the same group,when compared with group Ⅲ,there was a significant increase in serum leptin levels(34.69 ± 7.69 ng/mL vs 10.69 ± 0.84 ng/mL,P hile there was a significant decrease in serum adiponectin levels(131.4 ± 7.91 pg/mL vs 342.4 ± 44.48 pg/mL,P hen compared with group Ⅲ,there was a significant increase in serum leptin and adiponectin levels(35.17 ± 1.06 ng/mL vs 10.69 ± 0.84 ng/mL,P mL vs 342.4 ± 44.48 pg/mL,P ely),while the

The goal of this study is to spatially portray Taif’s urban expansion and determine for last 30 years, from 1990 to 2020. It is only including the residential neighborhoods approved by the Taif municipality, which is responsible and organized for urban planning in the city. The geographical location of the city of Taif is a vital crossroad between eastern and western parts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which made it a tourist destination, as well as commercial and agricultural preference for many years, as it was considered the summer capital of the KSA. moreover, it serves as the entrance to makkah city from the eastern side. The proposed study has necessitated because the lack of recent scientific studies that dealt with the spatial analysis of urban expansion and its trends in the city of Taif and follow the stages of expansion during periods of time by relying on remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS) techniques. The many development projects in the city of Taif, such as Taif International Airport, the new Taif project, and other projects, which will cause an increase in demand for residential, commercial, industrial and service units have also prompted the proposed study. This was investigated using a multitemporal Landsat data for the years of 1990, 2002 and 2020, as well as census data from 1990 to 2020, along with Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) techniques. The results revealed that over the last 30 years, urban land cover has increased by 20,448 (ha) whereas other land covers, such as green area, have decreased significantly by 14,554 (ha). The results also indicate that the increase in urban areas amounted to 114.8% during the period from 1990 to 2020. The locations of new developments such as Taif airport, Taif university, ministry of housing projects, etc. were located to the North and Northeast. This is due to the area’s topography, which played a major role in determining the direction of urban expansion.

In this paper we study the dynamics of the atomic inversion, von Neumann entropy and entropy squeezing for moving and non-moving two-level atoms interacting with a Perelomov coherent state. The final state of the system using specific initial conditions is obtained. The effects of Perelomov and detuning parameters are examined in the absence and presence of the atomic motion. Important phenomena such as the collapse and revival are shown to be very sensitive to the variation of the Perelomov parameter in the presence of detuning parameter. The results show that the Perelomov parameter is very useful in generating a high amount of entanglement due to variation of the detuning parameter.

This paper presents the development of a new nonlinear representation by exploiting the multimodel approach and the new linear representation ARX-Laguerre for each operating region. The resulting multimodel, entitled ARX-Laguerre multimodel, is characterized by the parameter number reduction with a recursive representation. however, a significant reduction of this multimodel is subject to an optimal choice of Laguerre poles characterizing each local linear model ARX-Laguerre. Therefore, the authors propose an optimization algorithm to estimate, from input/output measurements, the optimal values of Laguerre poles. The ARX-Laguerre multimodel as well as the proposed optimization algorithm are tested on a continuous stirred tank reactor system （CSTR）. moreover, the authors take into account a practical validation on an experimental communicating two tank system （CTTS）.

In recent years, due to the economic and environmental issues, modern power systems often operate proximately to the technical restraints enlarging the probable level of instability risks. hence, efficient methods for voltage instability prevention are of great importance to power system companies to avoid the risk of large blackouts. In this paper, an event-driven emergency demand response (EEDR) strategy based on whale optimization algorithm (WOA) is proposed to effectively improve system voltage stability. The main objective of the proposed EEDR approach is to maintain voltage stability margin (VSm) in an acceptable range during emergency situations by driving the operating condition of the power system away from the insecure points. The optimal locations and amounts of load reductions have been determined using WOA algorithm. To test the feasibility and the efficiency of the proposed method, simulation studies are carried out on the IEEE 14-bus and real Algerian 114-bus power systems.
