Anambra Basin, so.thwestern Nigeria, were analyzed fo. bulk o.ganic geo.hemical, mo.ecular bio.o.ical and po.y-aro.atic hydro.arbo.(PAH) co.po.itio.s to.investigate the o.ganic matter so.rce, paleo.depo.itio.al co.ditio., thermal maturity and petro.eum po.ential o. the unit. The bulk o.ganic geo.hemistry was determined using Leco.and Ro.k-Eval pyro.ysis analyses while the bio.arkers and PAH co.po.itio.s were investigated using gas chro.ato.raphy-mass spectro.eter(GC-MS).The bulk o.ganic geo.hemical parameters o. the shale samples sho.ed to.al o.ganic carbo.(To.)(1.11-6.03 wt%), S2(0.49-11.73 mg HC/g Ro.k), HI(38-242 mg HC/g To.) and Tmax(425-435 C) indicating go.d to.excellent hydro.arbo. so.rce-ro.k. Typical HI-Tmax diagram revealed the shale samples mo.tly in the gas-pro.e Type Ⅲ kero.en regio. with few gas and o.l-pro.e Type Ⅱ-Ⅲ kero.en. The investigated bio.arkers(n-alkane, iso.reno.d, terpane, ho.ane, sterane) and PAH(alkylnaphthalene, methylphenanthrene and dibenzo.hio.hene) indicated that the carbo.aceo.s shales co.tain mix co.tributio.s o. terrestrial and marine o.ganic matter inputs that were depo.ited in a deltaic to.shallo. marine settings and preserved under relatively ano.ic to.subo.ic *** maturity parameters co.puted fro. Ro.k-Eval pyro.ysis, bio.arkers(ho.ane, sterane) and PAH(alkylnaphthalene, alkylphenanthrene, alkyldibenzo.hio.hene) suggested that these carbo.aceo.s shales in Anambra Basin have entered an early-mature stage fo. hydro.arbo. generatio.. This is also.suppo.ted by fluo.anthene/pyrene(0.27-1.12), fluo.anthene/(fluo.anthene + pyrene)(0.21-0.53) ratio. and calculated vitrinite reflectance values(0.49-0.63% Ro. indicative that these shales have mo.tly reached early o.l windo. maturity, thereby having lo. hydro.arbo. so.rce po.ential.

The lo. so.ubility o. ethyl p-metho.ycinnamate(EPMC)inhibits its abso.ptio. in the gastro.ntestinal tract,impairing its pharmaco.o.ical *** so.ubility o. EPMC can be increased by utilizing a carrier in the type o. meso.o.o.s silica nano.articles(MSN).In the present study,we aimed to.co.fine EPMC under the nano.cale o. MSN(MSN-EPMC)to.increase the water so.ubility o. *** was prepared using so.ium silica as a precurso. and Tween 80 and Span 80 as ***,500 mg MSN was dispersed into.2%w/v EPMC so.utio.,stirred at 100 r/min fo. 24 h,and dried at 60℃.The results sho.ed that the MSN fo.med had a particle size o. 87.1305 nm,a surface area o. 68.86 m;/g,a po.e diameter o. 20.45 nm,and a po.e vo.ume o. 0.352 cm;/*** was successfully co.fined under the nano.cale o. ***-EPMC had an amo.pho.s structure,a lo.ding capacity o. 10.6%,and a lo.ding efficiency o. 18.18%.The so.ubility o. MSN-EPMC was increased by 2.63 fo.ds at 30 min co.pared with *** amo.pho.s structure o. MSN-EPMC was respo.sible fo. the enhancement o. the water *** co.ld be co.cluded that the co.fining o. City develo.ment is a result o. many facto.s, o. which land value is o.e o. the majo. determinants. The past urban eco.o.ics studies have sho.n that land value is largely determined by lo.atio. facto.s such as distance fro. Central Business District （CBD） igno.ing the no.-lo.atio. facto.s like time o. purchase and neighbo.rho.d infrastructures. Therefo.e, this paper attempts to.establish the relative impo.tance o. lo.atio. and no.-lo.atio. facto.s in the determinatio. o. residential land value by po.iting o.itsha, Nigeria as a case study. Eight hundred and fifty residential ho.sing units were selected and questio.naire administered to.the landlo.ds thro.gh multi-stage sampling technique. The stepwise regressio. analysis results sho.ed that no.-lo.atio. facto.s, especially, time o. land purchase, co.tribute mo.e to.the variatio. in residential land values. The paper suggests the revisio. o. the classical eco.o.ic theo.ies to.represent the co.ditio.s o. urban areas in develo.ing co.ntries .

The impo.tance o. Remo.e Sensing and Geo.raphic Info.matio. System in map making canno. be o.eremphasized because o. its ability to.integrate spatial data with no.-spatial data and also.co.municate the resulting info.matio. in a way that everyo.e wo.ld understand. Several wo.ks have taken advantage o. the abilities o. these techno.o.ies to.pro.uce street maps using High Reso.utio. Images. The increase in develo.ment in Ile Ife, o.un State, Nigeria, has bro.ght abo.t navigatio. challenge and asso.iated difficulties. This wo.k intends to.pro.uce a street map that will ease navigatio. within the study area and help in ro.d netwo.k analysis, site suitability analysis etc. Aerial Pho.o.raphs, captured in the year 2009 and Geo.ye1 Satellite Image o. 2011 were used to.extract the ro.d netwo.k o. Ife Metro.o.is. The image was impo.ted into.ArcGIS enviro.ment, where the database was created having feature datasets such as ro.ds and special features. To.have all the elements in vecto. fo.mat, the image was digitized. The street names co.lected fro. the field wo.k was inputted into.the database and then subjected to.carto.raphical pro.esses. 512 Ro.ds were captured within fo.r classes o. Ro.d Netwo.k namely Express ro.d (5), Seco.dary Ro.d (25), Primary Ro.ds (22) and Street Ro.d (460). This field wo.k revealed that a larger percentage o. the ro.ds were no. paved, while mo.t o. the paved o.es have deterio.ated and the newly co.structed o.es were no. do.umented. It also.sho.ed that so.e o. the ro.ds were no. named acco.ding to.the standard and so.e were no. named at all. Fro. this study, we reco.mend that the naming system sho.ld be standardized acro.s the study area. It is also.reco.mended that pro.isio. sho.ld be made fo. street map revisio. o. a yearly basis so.as to.acco.nt fo. changes.

Crude o.l po.lutio. in the Niger Delta, perpetrated by bo.h lo.al co.munities and industrial acto.s, has bro.ght abo.t so.l po.lutio. with its co.sequent eco.o.ical, human health and fo.d challenges. The purpo.e o. this research was to.examine the co.centratio. and distributio. o. heavy metals in so.l fro. co.munities co.taminated by crude o.l in Niger Delta, and to.evaluate the po.ential health risks to.residents fro. expo.ure to.these co.taminants. To.achieve this, so.l samples were co.lected fro. the Ihwrekreka co.munity and analyzed fo. heavy metal co.tent using inductively co.pled plasma mass spectro.etry (ICP-MS). The analytical results in mg/kg revealed a significant metals po.lutio. level derived fro. the o.l spill in the so.l ranging fro. 4.85 - 17,078 (Cu), 1.01 - 16.1 (Cd), 0.22 - 36.8 (Cr), 8.28 - 40.9 (Ni), 7.51 - 6474 (Pb), and 8.84 - 12,851 (Zn) respectively. Mo.t o. the metals were abo.e the permissible limits o. Wo.ld Health o.ganizatio., with Cu, Zn, and Pb as the mo.t co.taminating metals. Lead was fo.nd to.be the main co.tributo. to.the hazard index (HI) values fo. bo.h children and adults in the study area, with its co.centratio. exceeding the permitted limits set by the WHo.and the EC. The hazard index (HI) values o. Pb, Cu, Zn, Cd, Ni, and Cr were significantly higher than 1. These findings suggest that the release o. heavy metals fro. an o.l-co.taminated site may po.e a risk to.human health and the enviro.ment.

Vaso.o.clusive crisis is a co.mo. clinical manifestatio. in children with sickle cell anaemia, frequently warranting in-patient management with intraveno.s fluids, analgesics and o.casio.ally anti-malaria and antibio.ics. Pain is the principal sympto. o. vaso.o.clusive crisis and it can affect any part o. the bo.y. Pentazo.ine is a well-kno.n o.io.d analgesic, co.mo.ly used in the treatment o. painful crisis in children affected by sickle cell anaemia. It was disco.ered in the 1950s and was initially tho.ght to.be addictio.—pro.f, but this has been dispro.ed o.er the years by repo.ts o. pentazo.ine dependence/addictio. especially in patients living with chro.ic pain. There have been so.e case repo.ts o. pentazo.ine abuse/dependence amo.g sickle cell disease patients in the literature, mo.t o. which are fro. Nigeria but no.e invo.ved jo.nt addictio. by siblings. We therefo.e, repo.t the case o. two.siblings, kno.n sickle cell anaemia (HbSS) patients, referred to.o.r emergency paediatric unit with histo.y o. recurrent painful crisis o.er a 10-mo.th perio. leading to.abuse o. pentazo.ine. Intro.uctio.: Cranio.ncephalic trauma is a frequent reaso. fo. admissio. to.emergency departments and is a so.rce o. mild to.severe neuro.sycho.o.ical defects that will persist o.er time. Their management remains difficult. o.jectives: To.evaluate the sequelae presented by patients suffering fro. cranio.ncephalic trauma. Metho.s: This was a retro.pective, descriptive, cro.s-sectio.al study co.ducted at the Natio.al Ho.pital o. Zinder. It will include all patients admitted and ho.pitalised in the emergency, intensive care and neuro.urgery departments o. Zinder Natio.al Ho.pital fo. head injury o.er a perio. o. 28 mo.ths fro. 1 January 2016 to.30 April 2018. Brain scan, X-ray were the imaging tests used. Results: o.t o. a to.al o. 974 admissio.s, 367 were retained, i.e. 37.6%, with a male predo.inance (82.6%). The average age was 26.5 years. MVAs were represented in 89.7% o. cases. Mo.erate CTE acco.nted fo. 64% o. cases. Altered co.scio.sness was repo.ted in 295 patients (80.38% o. cases). Brain scans were used in 76.7% o. cases and skull X-rays in 4.2% o. cases. Medical management was perfo.med in all patients. Treatment was o.erative in 78 patients (21.25%). Reco.ery witho.t immediate sequelae was fo.nd in 187 patients (50.9%). Persistent headache represented 47.7% o. the late sequelae o.served in the patients, epileptic seizures represented 16.8% o. the late sequelae, neuro.o.ical deficit represented 14.7%. Co.clusio.: Cranio.ncephalic trauma represents a majo. public health issue. Altho.gh their in-ho.pital management remains a challenge, po.t-ho.pital management related to.the appearance o. sequelae remains ano.her.
