Objective:To develop a simple sensitive high performance thin layer chromatography(HPTLC)-densitometric method for quantification of glycyrrhizin in the Glycyrrhiza glabra root methanol extract and licorice root capsule methanol ***:Chromatography was performed on glass-backed silica gel 60 F254 HPTLC plates with the green solvents ethyl acetate:glacial acetic acid:methanol:water in proportion of 6:2:1:0.5,v/v/v/v as mobile *** and quantification of developed plate was done densitometrically at 254 *** method was validated for detection and quantification limits,precision,recovery and robustness according to International Conference on Harmonization ***:The system gave compact spot for glycyrrhizin(R_(f)=0.280±0.001).The regression curve of standard was found to be Y=4.213x+*** limit of detection(15.7 ng per band),limit of quantification(47.1 ng per band),recovery(99.4%-99.8%)and precision(≤1.62%and≤1.84%;intraday and interday)were satisfactory for *** range for glycyrrhizin was 20-200 ng(r^(2)=0.996).The content of glycyrrhizin was estimated as 5.9%and 11.2%w/w in glycyrrhizin in the Glycyrrhiza glabra root methanol extract and licorice root capsule methanol extract,***:This estimation technique is very much useful for the estimation of glycyrrhizin present in various formulations as well as for quality control of crude drugs containing glycyrrhizin.

Physicochemical properties and metal contents of five dye-based textile effluents collected in summer and winter season, 2016 from Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh were within the recommended acceptable limit. The average value of all physicochemical parameters was found high in summer season except turbidity. A total of 94 heavy metal resistant bacteria (46 gram positive & 48 gram negative) were isolated from textile effluent samples and among them 17 isolates were multi metal resistant. Highest tolerance level of the isolates was shown at 10 mM concentration against Pb. All the heavy metal resistant bacterial isolates were presumably grouped into 14 genera according to morphological and biochemical assay. Three isolates designated WFB3c (65.41%), WFB4g (62%) and SFB5c (60.07%) were found to potentially degrade dye as well as tolerate heavy metals. Prevalence and Associated Factors of Anemia among Pregnant Women Receiving Antenatal Care (ANC) at Fatima Hospital in Jashore, Bangladesh: A Cross-Sectional Study

Since anemia is one of the most skyrocketed public health problems worldwide, an investigation has thus been conducted to assess the prevalence and associated factors of anemia among the pregnant women receiving antenatal care (ANC) at Fatima Hospital in Jashore, Bangladesh. Facility-based cross-sectional study was carried out among 384 pregnant women at Fatima hospital, Bangladesh from February to April, 2019. Data were obtained using a structured questionnaire and participant’s current medical record card. Binary logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with anemia and a P-value < 0.05 was considered as statistically significance. The overall prevalence of anemia among pregnant women was 58.9% (226/384). Out of 226 anemic pregnant mothers, 36.3% (82/226) were mildly anemic, 62.4% (141/226) were moderately anemic and 1.3% (3/384) was severely anemic. Binary logistic regression analysis revealed that the following variables were significantly associated with anemia: Monthly family income (11,000 - 20,000 Taka) [AOR (95% CI) = 0.45 (0.21 - 0.98)], Family size (joint) [AOR (95% CI) = 1.59 (1.03 - 2.45)], Gestational age (third trimester) [AOR (95% CI) = 2.18 (1.40 - 3.40)], birth spacing < 2 years [AOR (95% CI) = 2.87 (1.51 - 5.44)], Excessive blood loss during previous surgery (Yes) [AOR (95% CI) = 2.08 (1.14 - 4.17)], Food group eaten 24 hours (1 - 4 groups) [AOR (95% CI) = 3.43 (1.84 - 6.39)], Breakfast regularly (No) [AOR (95% CI) = 3.64 (1.36 - 9.75)]. The results obtained showed that the prevalence of anemia among pregnant women is severe at Fatima Hospital in Jashore, Bangladesh.

This paper describes the embryonic development of the common cutworm Spodoptera litura （Fabricius）（Lepidoptera： Noctuidae） which is divided into eight embryonic stages, through variations in the egg＇s contents. Experiments were conducted on the eggs ofS. litura under laboratory conditions. The highest concentration of the protein （min.-max.： 32-! 40 lag/egg） and the lowest of the carbohydrate （min.-max.： 3.0-44.0 lag/egg） were obtained; similarly, the DNA content was smaller （min.-max.： 1.0-38.2 lag/egg） than the RNA （min.-max.： 9.2-360.0 lag/egg） throughout the embryogenesis. Three peaks of ecdysteroid titre were observed which were responsible for appearance of particular events during embryogenesis. The last highest peak of 400_＋33.4 lag/egg was appeared at 84 h after oviposition when larva was ready to hatch. Therefore, it is concluded that eight embryonic stages in S. litura were characterized by fluctuation in the egg＇s contents, which were responsible for gradual-progressive embryonic development. The egg-larval development did not show a normal distribution of embryonic developmental-time.

The use of bilateral internal thoracic arteries to treat coronary artery disease is very less despite of improved long-term survival. In this case report, a patient presented with TVD has been managed with anaortic off-pump complete arterial revascularization (OPCABG) by using composite LIMA RIMA Y Sequential 5 grafts to achieve complete arterial revascularization successfully. This type of operative procedure is technically difficult in a resource poor country like Bangladesh. However, this has been done by a group of young cardiac surgeon. During follow up, the patient is in a good condition.

Objectives:In patients with head and neck carcinoma,“treatment package time”(TPT)was proven to impact outcomes in cases receiving adjuvant radiotherapy *** impact in patients receiving radiotherapy with concurrent systemic therapy has not been studied *** TPT influence on survival endpoints for patients treated with surgery followed by radiation and concurrent systemic therapy was ***:Institutional database to identify head and neck carcinoma cases treated with definitive surgery followed by concomitant chemo(bio)radiotherapy(CRT)was *** was the number of days elapsed between surgery and the last day of radiation.%FINDCUT SAS macro tool was used to search for the cutoff TPT that was associated with significant survival ***-Meier curves,log-rank tests as well as univariate and multivariate analyses were used to assess overall survival(OS)and recurrence free survival(RFS).Results:One hundred and three cases with a median follow up of 37 months were included in the *** tumors were 43%,oral cavity 40%and laryngeal 17%of *** systemic therapy included platinum and cetuximab in 72%and 28%,*** TPT was found to be<100 days with significantly better OS(P=0.002)and RFS(P=0.043)compared to TPT≥100 *** multivariate analysis;TPT<100 days,extracapsular nodal extension,high-risk score,iymphovascular space and perineural invasion were independent predictors for worse OS(P<0.05).T4,extracapsular nodal extension and high-risk score were all significantly detrimental to RFS(P<0.05).Conclusions:Addition of concomitant systemic therapy to adjuvant radiotherapy did not compensate for longer TPT in head and neck squamous cell *** coordinated care must be provided to ensure the early start of CRT with minimal treatment breaks.

BackgroundThe COVID-19 pandemic posed a danger to global public health because of the unprecedented physical,mental,social,and environmental impact affecting quality of life(QoL).The study aimed to find the changes in QoL among COVID-19 recovered individuals and explore the determinants of change more than 1 year after recovery in low-resource ***-19 patients from all eight divisions of Bangladesh who were confirmed positive by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction from June 2020 to November 2020 and who subsequently recovered were followed up twice,once immediately after recovery and again 1 year after the first *** follow-up study was conducted from November 2021 to January 2022 among 2438 individuals using the World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief Version(WHOQOL-BREF).After excluding 48 deaths,95 were rejected to participate,618 were inaccessible,and there were 45 cases of incomplete *** statistics,paired-sample analyses,generalized estimating equation(GEE)analysis,and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to test the mean difference in participants’QoL scores between the two *** participants(n=1710,70.1%)were male,and one-fourth(24.4%)were older than *** average physical domain score decreased significantly from baseline to follow-up,and the average scores in psychological,social,and environmental domains increased significantly at follow-up(P<0.05).By the GEE equation approach,after adjusting for other factors,we found that older age groups(P<0.001),being female(P<0.001),having hospital admission during COVID-19 illness(P<0.001),and having three or more chronic diseases(P<0.001),were significantly associated with lower physical and psychological QoL *** age and female sex[adjusted odd ratio(aOR)=1.3,95%confidence interval(CI)1.0–1.6]were associated with reduced social domain scores on multivariable logistic regression *** or semi-urban peo

Trachypithecus,which currently contains 20 species divided into four groups,is the most speciose and geographically dispersed genus among Asian *** several morphological and molecular studies,however,its evolutionary history and phylogeography remain poorly ***’s langur(Trachypithecus phayrei) is one of the most widespread members of the genus,but details on its actual distribution and intraspecific taxonomy are limited and ***,to elucidate the evolutionary history of Trachypithecus and to clarify the intraspecific taxonomy and distribution of ***,we sequenced 41 mitochondrial genomes from georeferenced fecal samples and museum specimens,including two *** analyses revealed a robustly supported phylogeny of Trachypithecus,suggesting that the *** group branched first,followed by the *** group,and the *** and *** groups most *** four species groups diverged from each other 4.5-3.1 million years ago(Ma),while speciation events within these groups occurred much more recently(1.6-0.3 Ma).Within ***,we found three clades that diverged 1.0-0.9 Ma,indicating the existence of three rather than two *** the phylogenetic species concept and based on genetic,morphological,and ecological differences,we elevate the *** subspecies to species level,describe a new species from central Myanmar,and refine the distribution of the three ***,our study highlights the importance of museum specimens and provides new insights not only into the evolutionary history of *** but the entire Trachypithecus genus as well.
