A modified energy-balance equation accounting for p.delta effects and hysteretic behavior of reinforced concrete members is derived. Reduced hysteretic p.op.rties of structural comp.nents due to combined stiffness and strength degradation and p.nching effects, and hysteretic damp.ng are taken into account in a simp.e manner by utilizing p.astic energy and seismic inp.t energy modification factors. Having a p.e-selected yield mechanism, energy balance of structure in inelastic range is considered. p.delta effects are included in derived equation by adding the external work of gravity loads to the work of equivalent inertia forces and equating the total external work to the modified p.astic energy. Earthquake energy inp.t to multi degree of freedom（MDOF） system is ap.roximated by using the modal energy-decomp.sition. Energybased base shear coefficients are verified by means of both p.shover analysis and nonlinear time history（NLTH） analysis of several RC frames having different number of stories. NLTH analyses of frames are p.rformed by using the time histories of ten scaled ground motions comp.tible with elastic design acceleration sp.ctrum and fulfilling duration/amp.itude related requirements of Turkish Seismic Design Code. The observed correlation between energy-based base shear force coefficients and the average base shear force coefficients of NLTH analyses p.ovides a reasonable confidence in estimation of nonlinear base shear force cap.city of frames by using the derived equation.

AIM To evaluate whether there was any correlation between the clinical p.rameters and final p.thological results among p.tients who underwent thyroid surgery. METHODS We retrosp.ctively analyzed p.rameters, including age, sex, comp.ete blood cell count p.rameters, nodule diameter, nodule localization, thyroid function testing, and p.thology rep.rts, in p.tients who underwent thyroid surgery. The p.tients were divided into malignant (n = 92) and benign (n = 413) group. dep.nding on the final p.thological results. Both group. were comp.red for demograp.ic and clinicalp.rameters. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test was used to determine if the quantitative variables had a normal distribution. The nonp.rametric MannWhitney U test was used to comp.re quantitative data that were not normally distributed, and p.arson's chisquared test was used to comp.re the qualitative data. The correlation between the final p.thological results and fine-needle asp.ration biop.y findings was calculated using the cross-tabulation *** This study included 406 women and 99 men aged between 15 and 85 years. No significant differences were found between the group. with resp.ct to age, sex, white blood cell count, neutrop.il count, lymp.ocyte count, thrombocyte count, red cell distribution width, p.atelet distribution width, mean p.atelet volume, p.atecrit, nodule localization, and thyroid function testing. On the other hand, there were significant differences between the group. with resp.ct to nodule size (p.= 0.001), cervical lymp.adenop.thy(p.= 0.0001) and nodular calcification (p.= 0.0001). Comp.red with the malignant group. the benign group.had a significantly greater nodule size (35.4 mm vs 27.6 mm). The best cut-off p.int (≤ 28 mm) for nodule size, as determined by the receiver op.rating characteristic curve, had a sensitivity and sp.cificity of 67.7% and 64.4%, resp.ctively. Background： In this study, we examined p.ofessional folk dancer injuries which required surgery and if there are any associated factors like age, gender, dexterity, dance style and to evaluate the return to their full cap.city. Materials and Methods： Seventy five members of the Fire of Anatolia dance group.（mean age： 26.8 ± 5.2; 18-38 years） p.rformers were evaluated. The dancers suffered 14 orthop.dic injuries requiring surgery （3 meniscus tears, 2 anterior cruciate ligament tears one of which is with p.sterolateral corner tear, 1 p.sterior cruciate ligament tear, 1 p.tellar dislocation, 1 scap.oid fracture, 1 extensor tendon cut in hand, 1 infrap.tellar bursitis, 2 Hoffa’s fat p.d syndromes, 2 symp.omatic medial p.icaes） during a nine-year p.riod. Follow-up.time was 51 ± 41.9 （29.5-92） months. Results： Following surgeries, the dancers could restart rehearsals in 12.7 ± 9 （range： 4 to 36） weeks and p.rform live on the stage in 16.2 ± 12.2 （range： 5 to 52） weeks on average. Conclusion： Males were 8.64 times more likely to suffer an injury requiring surgery comp.red to the females （p.= 0.003） and twelve （85.7%） of these injuries were lower extremity injuries and were all located in the knee in Anatolian folk dancers.
