Decentralized solid-waste incinerators(DSWIs)have certain advantages for waste disposal from villages and ***,the incineration condition is always affected by the distribution of temperature and oxygen concentration,which causes difficulties in operation and *** this study,the temperature and oxygen concentration distribution of DSWI were characterized using different air flow rates and bottom ash *** results showed that the adjustment of air flow has no significant influence on the heating process of the DSWI,while the retention of bottom ash did affect the temperature and oxygen concentration fields in the *** the air flow rate was increased without the retention of bottom ash,99%of the furnace volume temperature was observed between 780℃ and 800℃.However,once the bottom ash was retained,the whole furnace temperature was steadily maintained between 800℃ and 850℃.When the air flow rate was increased without bottom ash,the highest furnace volume percentage of oxygen concentrations higher than 3%maxed out at 11%volume,while it could reach 100%when bottom ash *** distribution of the temperature and oxygen concentration in the DSWI characterized by this research provides strong support for the operation and management of such systems.

Wet purification technology for nonferrous metal smelting flue gas is important for mercury removal;however, this technology produces a large amounts of spent scrubbing solution that contain mercury. The mercury in these scrubbing solutions pose a great threat to the environment. Therefore, this research provides a novel strategy for removing and recycling mercury from the scrubbing solution, which is significant for decreasing mercury pollution while also allowing for the safe disposal of wastewater and a stable supply of mercury resources. Some critical parameters for the electrochemical reduction of mercury were studied in detail. Additionally, the electrodeposition dynamics and electroreduction mechanism for mercury were evaluated. Results suggested that over 92.4% of mercury could be removed from the scrubbing solution in the form of a Hg-Cu alloy under optimal conditions within 150 min and with a current efficiency of approximately 75%. Additionally, mercury electrodeposition was a quasi-reversible process, and the controlled step was the mass transport of the reactant. A pre-conversion step from Hg(Tu)_(4)^(2+) to Hg(Tu)_(3)^(2+) before mercury electroreduction was necessary. Then, the formed Hg(Tu)_(3)^(2+) on the cathode surface gained electrons step by step. After electrodeposition, the mercury in the spent cathode could be recycled by thermal desorption. The results of the electrochemical reduction of mercury and subsequent recycling provides a practical and easy-to-adopt alternative for recycling mercury resources and decreasing mercury contamination.

A series of metal-Al_(2)O_(3)catalysts were prepared simply by the conventional impregnation with Al_(2)O_(3)and metal chlorides,which were applied to the dehydration of fructose to 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF).An agreeable HMF yield of 93.1%was achieved from fructose at mild conditions(100℃and 40 min)when employing Cr(III)-Al_(2)O_(3)as catalyst in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride([Bmim]Cl).The Cr(III)-Al_(2)O_(3)catalyst was characterized via XRD,DRS and Raman spectra and the results clarified the interaction between the Cr(III)and the alumina ***,the reaction solvents([Bmim]Cl)collected after 1st reaction run and 5th reaction run were analyzed by ICP-OES and LC-ITMS and the results confirmed that no Cr(III)ion was dropped off from the alumina support dur-ing the fructose ***,Cr(III)-Al_(2)O_(3)catalyst had an excellent catalytic performance for glucose and sucrose and the HMF yields were reached to 73.7%and 84.1%at 120℃for 60 min,***,the system of Cr(III)-Al_(2)O_(3)and[Bmim]Cl exhibited a constant stability and activity at 100℃for 40 min and a fa-vorable HMF yield was maintained after ten recycles.

A novel total synthesis of （±）shikonin 1 was presented. The key intermediate 6 was achieved by the formylation of 1,8：4,5-bis（methylenedioxy）naphthalene 5 with N-methylformanilide in good yield. It was first reported that the addition of prenyllithium to 2-formyl-1,8：4,5- bismethylenedioxy naphthalene 6 gave 2-（1-hydroxy-4-methylpentyl） 1,8：4,5-bis（methylenedioxy） naphthalene 8 in 45% yield and 2-（1-hydroxy-2,2-dimethyl-3-butenyl）-1,8：4,5-bis（methylenedioxy）naphthalene 9 in 48% yield. After the electrooxide deprotection of 8, （±）shikonin 1 was prepared in high yield.

Cobalt oxides, such as C0304 and CoO, have received increasing attention as potential anode materials for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries （liBs） owing to their high theoretical capacity. Nanostructure engineering has been demonstrated as an effective approach to improve the electrochemical performance of electrode materials for liBs. In this review, we summarize recent developments in the rational design and fabrication of various cobalt oxide-based nanomaterials and their lithium storage performance, including 1D nanowires/belts, 2D nanosheets, 3D hollow/hierarchical structures, hybrid nanostructures with carbon （amorphous carbon, carbon nanotubes and graphene） and mixed metal oxides. By focusing on the effects of their structure on their electrochemical performance, effective strategies for the fabrication of cobalt oxide/carbon hybrid nanostructures are highlighted. This review shows that by rational design, such cobalt-oxide-based nanornaterials are very promising as next generation liB anodes.

A novel two-dimensional network manganese(Ⅱ) polymer complex [Mn(O2CCH2CI)2-(phen)]n has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and IR spectrum. The crystal structure of title complex has also been determined, which is in monoclinic of a space group P21/c with the following unit cell parameters at 294K: a=1.9738(4) nm, b =1.1384(2) nm, c =0.74915(14) nm, V =1.6795(5) nm3, Z= 2.

Objective To investigate the prevalence and possible factors influencing metabolic syndrome in people from Guizhou Province and to explore the predictive value of the fat-to-muscle ratio in diagnosing metabolic syndrome. Methods A multistage stratified sampling method was used in this cross-sectional study of 20-80 years old Han and Bouyei populations from Guizhou Province, southwestern China, from October-December 2012. The study included 4,553 cases of metabolic syndrome, that was defined according to 2005 International Diabetes Federation criteria. The receiver operating characteristic curve was used for determining the sensitivity, specificity, and predictive ability of the fat-to-muscle ratio for the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome. Results The age-standardized prevalence of metabolic syndrome was 11.38%（men： 9.76%; women： 12.72%） for Han and 4.78%（men： 4.43%; women： 5.30%） for Bouyei populations. In Guizhou Province, the cut-off value for the men fat-to-muscle ratio was 0.34, the area under the curve was 0.95, and the sensitivity and specificity were 0.94 and 0.85, respectively. The cut-off value for the women fat-to-muscle ratio was 0.55, the area under the curve was 0.91, and the sensitivity and specificity were 0.93 and 0.79, respectively. Conclusion The fat-to-muscle ratio is highly predictive of metabolic syndrome in Guizhou Province, and a useful reference indicator.

In this paper, we focus on investigating the stochastic stability and the regime transition between the endangered state and the boom state for a time-delayed insect growth system driven by correlated external and internal noises. By use of the Fokker Planck equation, the method of small time delay approximation and the fast descent method, we explore in detail the joint action of noise terms and time delay on the mean reproduction and depression time for the insect population. Our investigations indicate that the pseudo-resonance phenomenon of the mean first-passage time (MFPT) occurs because of the impact of different noises and time delay. Through the numerical calculation, it is discovered that multiplicative noise can speed up the shift of the insect population from the boom state to the endangered one, while the noise correlation and time delay can propel the insect system to evolve from the endangered state to the boom state and improve the biological stability. In addition, the impact of the additive noise on the stability of the biological system depends on the positive and negative situation of the noise correlation. On the other hand, during the process of suppressing the insect explosion, it is beneficial to the pest control to amplify the association noise strength and weaken the intensities of the multiplicative, additive noises and time delay. However, during the process of eliminating the pests, it can produce nice effect on the disinsection to increase time delay, the intensities of multiplicative and additive noises and weaken the strength of noise correlation.

This study documents the decadal changes of the spring meridional circulation （SMC） over 110°E- 165°E and the relationship between the SMC and summer （June-July-August-September） typhoon activity over the Western North Pacific （WNP） during 1948-2010. The authors found that the SMC was changed after 1969. Before its change, the SMC had no clear relation with the summer typhoon number over the WNP （TNWNP）, but after the change, it has become positively correlated with the TNWNP, with a correlation coefficient of 0.57 be- tween them （above the 99% confidence level）. It was ob- served that after the SMC was changed, the positive tropical sea surface temperature anomaly associated with the SMC was shifted from the Equatorial Eastern Pacific （El Nifio） to the equatorial middle Pacific （El Nifio Mo- doki）; at the same time, the Pacific decadal oscillation （PDO） pattern over the North Pacific, which is associated with the SMC, was enhanced. The SMC and the TNWNP are both modulated by the E1 Nifio Modoki after 1969, so the relationship between them becomes significant.
