This article presents a summary of our studies of Holocene moraines and glaciers of the Tien-Shan, Pamir, and Himalaya moun- mills with the purpose of providing pattern regularity of the Holocene glaciation decomposition. We developed a method for ob- taining reliable radiocarbon dating of moraines with the use of autochthonous organic matter dispersed in fine-grained morainic material, as well there were shown new possibilities of isotope-oxygen and isotope-uranium analysis for the Holocene glaciations dynamics. We found that Holocene glaciations disintegrate stadiaUy according to the decaying principle, and seven main stages may be distinguished. We achieved the absolute dating of the first three stages, identifying these periods as 8,000, 5,000, and 3,400 years ago. The application of the above-mentioned isotope methods of the Holocene glaciations and moraines study will allow re- searchers to improve the offered model of the Holocene glaciations disintegration; it will be great contribution to salvation of the problem of long-term climatic and glaciations forecast.

Cancer of the head and neck is often devastating and the morbidity associated with its treatment is substantial. Positron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography (PET-CT) combines the power of biological / molecular imaging with the anatomic detail of CT in order to provide a very sensitive and specific imaging tool for the evaluation of head and neck pathology. PET can aid the clinician in establishing diagnosis, staging, (It has been shown to be more accurate than CT), assessing, prognosis and determining response to therapy. Lymphoma, melanoma, multiple myeloma, leukemia, salivary gland tumors, odontogenic carcinomas, soft tissue sarcomas, thyroid, parathyroid, lacrimal gland and bone / cartilage tumors are some of the entities where PET-CT may be useful. (Tumors of salivary glands and of odontogenic tissue are particularly difficult to diagnose due to the relative infrequency when compared with other tumors and the extremely vast histologic variation).It is important to note that carcinoma metastasis, is the most common malignancy found within the mandibular bone. PET-CT and skeletal scintigraphy are both very sensitive and specific in these types of patients.

Human object interaction(HOI)recognition plays an important role in the designing of surveillance and monitoring systems for healthcare,sports,education,and public *** involves localizing the human and object targets and then identifying the interactions between ***,it is a challenging task that highly depends on the extraction of robust and distinctive features from the targets and the use of fast and efficient ***,the proposed system offers an automated body-parts-based solution for HOI *** system uses RGB(red,green,blue)images as input and segments the desired parts of the images through a segmentation technique based on the watershed ***,a convex hullbased approach for extracting key body parts has also been *** identifying the key body parts,two types of features are ***,the entire feature vector is reduced using a dimensionality reduction technique called t-SNE(t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding).Finally,a multinomial logistic regression classifier is utilized for identifying class labels.A large publicly available dataset,MPII(Max Planck Institute Informatics)Human Pose,has been used for system *** results prove the validity of the proposed system as it achieved 87.5%class recognition accuracy.

Retinal degeneration is a major contributor to visual dysfunction *** it comprises several eye diseases,loss of retinal pigment epithelial(RPE)and photoreceptor cells are the major contributors to their *** therapies included diverse treatments,such as provision of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor and many survival and trophic factors that,in some cases,slow down the progression of the degeneration,but do not effectively prevent *** finding of stem cells(SC)in the eye has led to the proposal of cell replacement strategies for retina *** using different types of SC,such as retinal progenitor cells(RPCs),embryonic SC,pluripotent SCs(PSCs),induced PSCs(iPSCs),and mesenchymal stromal cells,capable of self-renewal and of differentiating into multiple cell types,have gained ample *** preclinical studies have assessed transplantation of SC in animal models,with encouraging *** aim of this work is to revise the different preclinical and clinical approaches,analyzing the SC type used,their efficacy,safety,cell attachment and integration,absence of tumor formation and immunorejection,in order to establish which were the most relevant and *** addition,we examine the questions and concerns still open in the *** data demonstrate the existence of two main approaches,aimed at replacing either RPE cells or *** evidence suggests that RPCs and iPSC are the best candidates,presenting no ethical concerns and a low risk of *** trials have already supported the safety and efficacy of SC *** concerns are pending,such as the risk of tumor formation,lack of attachment or integration of transplanted cells into host retinas,immunorejection,cell death,and also ***,the amazing progress in the field in the last few years makes it possible to envisage safe and effective treatments to restore vision loss in a near future.

目的:了解西部农村针对妇女的家庭暴力发生情况及对妇女精神健康的影响。方法:使用夫妻冲突量表(the revised Conflict Tactics Scale,CTS2)及自编问卷对宁夏某县1 577名妇女进行调查。结果:24.6%的妇女报告过去1年遭受过精神暴力,轻度和重度精神暴力的发生率分别为23.9%和7.0%;5.5%的妇女过去1年遭受过躯体暴力,轻度和重度躯体暴力的发生率分别为4.4%和4.1%;1.1%的妇女报告过去1年曾受过性暴力。有2.2%的妇女报告在过去1年中曾因家庭暴力受到躯体伤害,轻度和重度躯体伤害的发生率分别为2.1%和1.0%。妇女过去任何时候曾经遭受家庭暴力的比例分别为精神暴力30%,躯体暴力16.3%,性暴力1.8%,躯体伤害6.4%。妇女精神健康分别用过去1个月精神症状出现的种类、过去1年是否有过自杀意念和过去1年心理精神健康状况的自我评价3个指标来描述,多元线性回归和Logistic回归显示,在同时考虑年龄、家庭收入、丈夫是否外出打工这3个因素时,家庭暴力持续显示为影响妇女精神健康的重要因素,遭受精神暴力或躯体暴力的妇女表述过去1个月内出现更多种类的精神症状;过去1年遭受过精神暴力的妇女,其过去1年出现自杀意念的风险是未遭受过精神暴力者的3.98倍,其自我评价过去1年心理精神健康状况差的风险是未遭受过精神暴力者的1.67倍;过去1年遭受过躯体暴力的妇女,其过去1年出现自杀意念的风险是未遭受过躯体暴力者的4.72倍,其自我评价过去1年心理精神健康状况差的风险是未遭受过躯体暴力者的4.57倍。研究还显示,老年妇女和家庭收入极低的妇女为精神健康的危险人群。结论:针对农村妇女的家庭暴力发生情况不容乐观,家庭暴力对妇女的身心健康造成极大威胁,今后应采取有效措施,降低类似农村地区家庭暴力的发生,保护妇女,提高其生活质量。

AIM: To evaluate the association among elevated intraocular pressure(IOP), the metabolic syndrome(Met S), body mass index(BMI), and some of their components in the Israeli ***: We retrospectively reviewed the charts of12 747 soldiers of the Israeli Defense Forces, aged 35 y or older, who underwent a routine periodical medical examination between 1991 and 2004. None of the subjects received medical treatment for either glaucoma or ocular hypertension. High IOP(>21 mm Hg) was correlated with age, sex, arterial blood pressure, total blood cholesterol levels, triglyceride levels, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, smoking, BMI and Met ***: A statistically significant difference was found between the IOP of subjects with a low risk and higher risk for the development of Met S(P <0.0001 for males, P =0.0026 for females). A statistically significant positive correlation was found in male subjects between high BMI and elevated IOP(r =0.11677, P <0.0001).CONCLUSION: Met S and BMI were significantly more prevalent in subjects with increased IOP levels. We suggest that both should be taken into consideration in the assessment of glaucoma suspects.

Objective:To investigate the presence of neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs) in vivo by analysing intestinal sections from experimentally Eimeria bovis-and naturally Eimeria arloingi-infected ***:Intestinal samples of Eimeria arloingi-and Eimeria bovis-infected animals were analysed by using immunohistochemical and fluorescence approach by using monoclonal ***:Classical NET components were confirmed by co-localization of extracellular DNA being decorated with neutrophil elastase and histones in Eimeria-infected tissue ***,extrusion of NETs was exclusively detected in intestinal polymorphonuclear neutrophils infiltrating Eimeria-infected *** vivo NETs were either found in close proximity or in direct contact to different Eimeria stages suggesting a stage-independent *** were also found within the gut lumen driven by polymorphonuclear neutrophils that were contacting released ***:We postulate that NETs might play an important role in innate defence reactions in coccidiosis therefore significantly altering the outcome of infection.
