A 36-year-old male who carried a diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome presented with chronic watery diarrhea and was found to have hepatomegaly on physical exam.A computed tomography(CT)scan of the abdomen revealed hepatomegaly with lesions suspicious for metastatic disease.A colonoscopy revealed a polypoid lesion in the terminal ileum,which was biopsied,revealing a neuroendocrine tumor(NET).He was treated with palliative octreotide and chemoembolization of liver metastases until disease *** case highlights the importance of considering functional NETs,especially carcinoid syndrome,in patients with chronic unresolving diarrhea,since early diagnosis allows for further treatment options that can prolong survival.

In this paper,we present the analysis of the stellar system HIP 101227 to determine the actual number of components in the system,and their *** use dynamical modeling and complex spectrophotometric(involving atmospheric modeling)techniques with recent data,to determine the physical properties and orbital solution for the system,respectively,with better accuracy than past *** on our analysis,we found that the system is more consistent with being a quadruple rather than a binary or a triple system as suggested by previous *** total mass of the system determined from our SED analysis is 3.42±0.20 M,which is distributed almost equally between the four *** stars are found to be zero-age main sequence stars;i.e.,at the last stage of pre-main sequence,with age less than 200 Myr and spectral types *** four stars have very similar physical characteristics,suggesting that the fragmentation process is the most likely theory for the formation and evolution of the system.

Internet of things(IoT)comprises many heterogeneous nodes that operate together to accomplish a human friendly or a business task to ease the ***,IoT nodes are connected in wireless media and thus they are prone to jamming *** the present scenario jamming detection(JD)by using machine learning(ML)algorithms grasp the attention of the researchers due to its virtuous *** this research,jamming detection is modelled as a classification problem which uses several *** one/two or minimumnumber of features produces vague results that cannot be *** the relationship between the feature and the class label cannot be efficiently determined,specifically,if the chosen number of features for training is minimum(say 1 or 2).To obtain good results,machine-learning algorithms are trained by large number of data ***,collection of large number of datasets to solve jamming detection is not easy and most of the times generation and collection of large data sets become *** this paper,to solve this problem,more number of features with nominal number of data’s is considered that eases the data collection and the classification *** this research,an efficient technique based on locality sensitive hashing(Lsh)for K-nearest neighbor algorithm(K-NN),which takes less time for constructing and querying the hash table that gives good accuracy is proposed and *** the results,it is clear that the obtained results are validatable and the model is more sensible.

Experimental results on some properties of electric discharge initiated by audio frequency voltages in the range of 50–10000 Hz are *** results indicate that there are at least two modes of plasma ionic oscillations.A resonance-type behavior is seen when the driving field frequency becomes equal to the plasma ionic *** results for plasma density and plasma temperature for both modes are presented.

The current study aimed to evaluate the first aid knowledge and general awareness of bleeding control, and their relations with different variables among the population of Jazan City, Saudi Arabia, in 2023. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Jazan City, Saudi Arabia between April 2023 and May 2023. Participants, >13 years old, living in Jazan City, were self-enrolled. Data collection was carried out by distributing a self-reported online survey questionnaire via email and social media apps. A validated, pretested online self-report questionnaire was used for data collection, with data analysis performed using (MS) Excel 2022 and SPSS version 26. A Chi-square test was used to determine the association of sociodemographic variables and Bleeding Control (BC) knowledge with, significance set at p al of 250 participants completed the questionnaire, predominantly aged between 16 - 25 years, with 152 (60.8%) being male, and about 90% being Saudi citizens. Only 53 (21.2%) participated in previous first aid training concentrating on bleeding control. Only 76 (30.4%) of participants had good knowledge, while 131 (52.4%) exhibited positive attitude towards BC first aid. There were no statistically significant associations between BC knowledge and age, gender, occupation, nationality, and education. However, a significant association was observed between previous BC training and knowledge (Chi-test = 40.373, d.f = 1, p = 0.000) at p alence of poor knowledge of bleeding control among community members in Jazan City was high. The findings of this study should be carefully considered by various healthcare organizations to implement educational first-aid programs and activities aimed at enhancing community awareness and knowledge of bleeding control.

This review focuses on DNA vaccines, denoting the last two decades since the early substantiation of preclinical protection was published in Science in 1993 by Ulmer et al. In spite of being safely administered and easily engineered and manufactured DNA vaccine, it holds the future prospects of immunization by inducing potent cellular immune responses against infectious and non-infectious diseases. It is well documented that injection of DNA plasmid encoding a desired gene of interest can result in the subsequent expression of its products and lead to the induction of an immune response within a host. This is pertinent to prophylactic and therapeutic vaccination approach when the peculiar gene produces a protective epitope from a pathogen. The recent studies demonstrated by a number of research centers showed that these immune responses evoke protective immunity against several infectious diseases and cancers, which provides adequate support for the use of this approach. We attempt in this review to provide an informative and unbiased overview of the general principles and concept of DNA vaccines technology with a summary of a novel approach to the DNA vaccine, present investigations that describe the mechanism(s) of protective immunity provoked by DNA immunization and to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of DNA immunisation.

Due to the demand of high computational speed for processing big data that requires complex data manipulations in a timely manner,the need for extending classical logic to construct new multi-valued optical models becomes a challenging and promising research *** paper establishes a novel octal-valued logic design model with new optical gates construction based on the hypothesis of Light Color State Model to provide an efficient solution to the limitations of computational processing inherent in the electronics *** provide new mathematical definitions for both of the binary OR function and the PLUS operation in multi valued logic that is used as the basis of novel construction for the optical full adder *** case studies were used to assure the validity of the proposed *** cases proved that the proposed optical 8-valued logic models provide significantly more information to be packed within a single bit and therefore the abilities of data representation and processing is increased.

Long-term effects of Nigella sativa L. oil on some physiological parameters in normal and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats

The long-term effects of Nigella sativa L. oil on some physiological parameters were investigated in normal and streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic male Wistar rats. STZ-induced diabetic rats showed significant increases in the levels of blood glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (LDL-cholesterol), uric acid, urea, creatinine, alanine aminotransferase (alT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) while high density lipoprotein (HDL-cholesterol) and total protein levels were significantly decreased compared to normal rats. Administration of black seed oil to diabetic rats resulted in a significant decrease in blood glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, LDL–cholesterol alT, AST and uric acid while HDL–cholesterol level was markedly increased compared to untreated diabetic rats after seven weeks of treatment. The results of this study indicate that the diet containing the oil of N. sativa improves the examined physiological parameters in STZ-induced diabetic rats especially when it is used for a longer period.
