The murine model of subarachnoid hemorrhage(SAH)is a valuable experimental tool for investigating molecular and cellular mechanisms,and the endovascular filament perforation technique can be used to simulate prominent pathophysiological features observed after human SAH;however,current validation methods for assessing an appropriate SAH model are ***,we introduce a simple procedure for se-lecting a mouse model of diffuse *** was induced in 24 mice using a standard filament perforation *** confirming survival at 24 h,SAH was scored 0-1 based on T2*-weighted images on whole-brain magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)and visual surveillance of the cisterna magna(CM)through the dura *** CM-based SAH grading correlated well with a reference parameter defined by extracted brain(r^(2)=0.53,p<0.0001).The receiver operating characteristic curve revealed a sensi-tivity of 85%and a specificity of 91%for detecting diffuse SAH,with a similar area under the curve(0.89±0.06[standard error of the mean])as the MRI-based grading(0.72±0.10,p=0.12).Our data suggest that confirming an SAH clot in the CM is a valuable way to select a clinically relevant diffuse SAH model that can be used in future experimental studies.

The implementation of WHO guidelines has significantly reduced hospital mortality due to severe malnutrition. Nevertheless, severe acute malnutrition in children under five remains a major public health problem in all low-income countries and is little studied. The study aimed to assess the nutritional status and quality of management of severe acute malnutrition in children aged 06 to 59 months hospitalized in the pediatric ward of Kayanza Hospital. This is a prospective study with descriptive and analytical aims over 6 months from February 10 to July 9, 2023. All children aged 6 to 59 months admitted for severe acute malnutrition are included in this study. The results show that the most affected age group is 12 to 23 months (42.55%). Marasmus is the most common clinical form, at 70.2%. Housewives and mothers from rural areas are the most affected, with rates ranging from 69.14% to 91.49%. The study shows that the reasons for consultation are respectively: edema (29.78%), diarrhea (26.59%), vomiting (19.14%), and fever (14.89%). Dehydration and hypothermia were the main complications observed in 45.74% and 22.34% respectively. Medical treatment was provided by antibiotics (44.68%), artesunate (31.91%), and resomal (21.27%). Nutritional treatment consisted of F75 100% milk and F100 100% milk. Pathologies observed were: anemia 38.29%, malaria 37.23%, urinary tract infection 12.7%, measles 11.7%. The national protocol for integrated management of acute malnutrition (PCIMA) was followed. This study shows that 72.3% of children were successfully treated, with 9.5% dropping out and dying, and 8.5% not responding. We found that malnutrition remains a public health problem, affecting mostly children aged 12 to 24 months. The main complications or pathologies associated with malnutrition are diarrhea, malaria, and fever, and the majority of children suffer from marasmus.

Great achievements have been made during the last decades in the field of Electrical Capacitance Tomography(ECT)image ***,there is still a need to make these image reconstruction results faster and of better ***,Deep Learning(DL)is flourishing and is adopted in many *** DL is very good at dealing with complex nonlinear functions and it is built using several series of Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs).An ECT image reconstruction model using DNN is proposed in this *** proposed model mainly uses Residual Autoencoder called(ECT_ResAE).Alarge-scale dataset of 320 k instances have been generated to train and test the proposed ECT_ResAE *** instance contains two vectors;a distinct permittivity distribution and its corresponding capacitance *** capacitance vector has been modulated to generate a 66×66 image,and represented to the ECT_ResAE as an *** scalability and practicability of the ECT_ResAE network are tested using noisy data,new samples,and experimental *** experimental results show that the proposed ECT_ResAE image reconstruction model provides accurate reconstructed *** achieved an average image Correlation Coefficient(CC)of more than 99%and an averageRelative ImageError(IE)around 8.5%.

The wear behavior of titanium silicon carbide MAX phase was *** of highly pure TiSiCand containing 8% of TiC,sliding dryly against Corundum counterpart,were tested at various speeds increasing from 5 to 60 m/s and under applied pressure of 0.1-0.8 *** sliding-wear tests were performed on Tribometer,at room temperature of 15℃ with a relative humidity of 10%.The expermental results show that the presence of TiC particles can be beneficial to reducing the wear rate for certain ranges of sliding speed and applied *** sliding-wear performances were expressed as a mathematical model,obtained through a modelling by the method of design of *** influence of TiC impurities on the wear behaviors was also *** is concluded that the wear mechanisms of samples are more affected by the presence of TiC under the effect of applied pressure compared with that of the sliding speed.

Background:Morphogenesis is a complex process in a developing animal at the organ,cellular and molecular *** this investigation,allometry at the cellular level was ***:Geometric information,including the time-lapse Cartesian coordinates of each cell's center,was used for calculating the allometric coefficients.A zero-centroaxial skew-symmetrical matrix(CSSM),was generated and used for constructing another square matrix(basic square matrix:BSM),then the determinant of BSM was calculated(d).The logarithms of absolute d(Lad)of cell group at different stages of development were plotted for all of the cells in a range of development stages;the slope of the regression line was estimated then used as the allometric ***,the lineage growth rate(LGR)was also calculated by plotting the Lad against the logarithm of the *** complexity index at each stage was *** method was tested on a developing Caenorhabditis elegans ***:We explored two out of the four first generated blastomeres in *** *** ABp and EMS lineages show that the allometric coefficient of ABp was higher than that of EMS,which was consistent with the complexityindexas well ***:The conclusion of this study is that the complexity of the differentiating cells in a developing embryo can be evaluated by allometric scaling based on the data derived from the Cartesian coordinates of the cells at different stages of development.
