Effect of impact deformation on shape recovery behavior in Fe-Mn-Si shape memory alloy under shape memory training process with cyclic thermo-mechanical loading

In the past studies, it has been discovered that the shape memory effect(SME) in the Fe-Mn-Si shape memory alloy(Fe-SMA)can gradually be enhanced by a pre-process called as shape memory training process under cyclic thermo-mechanical *** the other hand, it has been shown that the SME of Fe-SMA can also be affected by changing the strain rate. Therefore, it is possible to improve the SME by combining the strain rate sensitivity and shape memory training process. However, the improvement of SME caused by the training process under impact condition is still unclear. For the training process under impact condition, it is difficult to interrupt the test at the desired strain level due to many reflections of stress waves, which reload the specimen from the free ends. In this paper, to obtain reliable experimental results of SME after the training process under impact condition, the stress waves after first loading are eliminated by the double momentum-trap structure introduced into the impact tensile testing apparatus based on the split Hopkinson pressure bar method. In order to achieve an optimum design of the structure used in experiments, the finite element simulation of the structure is performed. Then, tensile tests in the training process of Fe-28Mn-6Si-5Cr alloy at different strain rates including the impact level are conducted and temperature change of the specimen is measured during training and heating process. As a result, the improvement of SME in the alloy after the training process under quasi-static and impact loading is compared with that under quasi-static loading through verification processes.

This feature article summarizes the synthesis of novel olefin block copolymers using fast syndiospecific living homo- and copolymerization of propylene, higher 1-alkene, and norbornene with ansa-fluorenylamidodimethyltitanium- based catalyst according to the authors＇ recent results. The catalytic synthesis of monodisperse polyolefin and olefin block copolymer was also described using this living system.

A Wire-Driven Series Elastic Mechanism Based on Ultrasonic Motor for Walking Assistive System

In order to improve the elderly people's quality of life,supporting their walking behaviors is a promising ***,based on one ultrasonic motor,a wire-driven series elastic mechanism for walking assistive system is proposed and investigated in this *** contrast to tradition,it innovatively utilizes an ultrasonic motor and a wire-driven series elastic mechanism to achieve superior system performances in aspects of simple structure,high torque/weight ratio,quiet operation,quick response,favorable electromagnetic compatibility,strong shock resistance,better safety,and accurately stable force *** proposed device is mainly composed of an ultrasonic motor,a linear spring,a steel wire,four pulleys and one rotating *** overcome the ultrasonic motor's insufficient output torque,a steel wire and pulleys are smartly combined to directly magnify the torque instead of using a conventional gear *** the pulleys,there is one tailored pulley playing an important role to keep the reduction ratio as 4.5 ***,the prototype is manufactured and its actual performance is verified by experimental *** a one-second operating cycle,it only takes 86 ms for this mechanism to output an assistive torque of 1.6 N·*** this torque,the ultrasonic motor's speed is around 4.1 rad/***,experiments with different operation periods have been conducted for different application *** study provides a useful idea for the application of ultrasonic motor in walking assistance system.

Technical tips of endoscopic ultrasound-guided choledochoduodenostomy

Endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) is clinically useful not only as a diagnostic tool during EUS-guided fine needle aspiration,but also during interventional ***-guided biliary drainage has been developed and performed by experienced ***-guided choledocoduodenostomy(EUS-CDS) is relatively well established as an alternative biliary drainage method for biliary decompression in patients with biliary *** reported technical success rate of EUS-CDS ranges from 50% to 100%,and the clinical success rate ranges from 92% to 100%.Further,the over-all technicalsuccess rate was 93%,and clinical success rate was 98%.Based on the currently available literature,the overall adverse event rate for EUS-CDS is 16%.The data on the cumulative technical and clinical success rate for EUS-CDS is ***,EUS-CDS can still lead to several problems,so techniques or devices that are more feasible and safe need to be ***-CDS has the potential to become a first-line biliary drainage procedure,although standardizing the technique in multicenter clinical trials and comparisons with endoscopic biliary drainage by randomized clinical trials are still needed.

Technical tips for endoscopic ultrasound-guided hepaticogastrostomy

Interventional procedures using endoscopic ultrasound(EUS) have recently been developed. For biliary drainage, EUS-guided trans-luminal drainage has been reported. In this procedure, the transduodenal approach for extrahepatic bile ducts is called EUSguided choledochoduodenostomy, and the transgastric approach for intrahepatic bile ducts is called EUSguided hepaticogastrostomy(EUS-HGS). These procedures have several effects, such as internal drainage and avoiding post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) pancreatitis, and they are indicated for an inaccessible ampulla of Vater due to duodenal obstruction or surgical anatomy. EUS-HGS has particularly wide indications and clinical impact as an alternative biliary drainage method. In this procedure, it is necessary to dilate the fistula, and several devices and approaches have been reported. Stent selection is also important. In previous reports, the overall technical success rate was 82%(221/270), the clinical success rate was 97%(218/225), and the overall adverse event rate for EUS-HGS was 23%(62/270). Adverse events of EUS-biliary drainage are still high compared with ERCP or PTCD. EUSHGS should continue to be performed by experienced endoscopists who can use various strategies when adverse events occur.

Middle Jurassic spinicaudatan Shizhuestheria from the Sichuan Basin and its ontogenetic implication

The diagnosis of the Middle Jurassic spinicaudatan genus Shizhuestheria is revised following the re-examination under a scanning electron microscope of a type specimen from Yanxi of Shizhu, and the newly collected specimens from Xintiangou of Chengjiang Town, Beibei, Chongqing. Small-sized reticulations occur not only in the middle-sized reticulations on growth bands on the dorsal side of the carapace, but also on growth bands on the ventral side of the carapace, which have been overlooked in the original description. The shift from wide dorsal growth bands to narrow ventral ones might indicate an onset of sexual maturity, and the transition in biological priorities from rapid juvenile growth to reproductive activities.

The cardiovascular action of hexarelin

Hexarelin, a synthetic growth hormone-releasing peptide, can bind to and activate the growth hormone secretagogue receptor （GHSR） in the brain similar to its natural analog ghrelin. However, the peripheral distribution of GHSR in the heart and blood vessels suggests that hexarelin might have direct cardiovascular actions beyond growth hormone release and neuroendocrine effects. Furthermore, the non-GHSR CD36 had been demonstrated to be a specific cardiac receptor for hexarelin and to mediate its cardioprotective effects. When compared with ghrelin, hexarelin is chemically more stable and functionally more potent. Therefore, it may be a promising therapeutic agent for some car-diovascular conditions. In this concise review, we discuss the current evidence for the cardiovascular action of hexarelin.

Availability of MCNP & MATLAB for reconstructing the water-vapor two-phase flow pattern in neutron radiography

The 2-D relative neutron intensity profiles for the water-vapor two-phase flow inside the robe were obtained using the MCNP code without influence of y-ray and *** MCNP simulation of the 2-D neutron intensity profile for the water-vapor two-phase flow was *** simulated 2-D neutron intensity profiles could be used as the benchmark data base by calibrating part of the data measured by the *** 3-D objective images allow us to understand the flow pattern more clearly and it is reconstructed using the MATLAB through the threshold transformation *** thus it is concluded that the MCNP code and the MATLAB are very useful for constructing the benchmark data base for the investigation of the water-vapor two-phase flow using the CARR-NRI.
