Background:Field studies from 2011 onwards have demonstrated the presence of a breeding population of Yellow Wagtails(Motacilla flava)in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,China that is phenotypically distinct from known subspecies occurring in *** we describe the plumages and vocalisations of this population and discuss its taxonomic ***:The analysis of plumage is based on field studies and photos available *** of vocalisations are compared with recordings from other Yellow Wagtail populations,and differences are analysed based on *** DnA from one individual is compared to other Yellow Wagtail ***:Unlike *** subspecies breeding in or near Xinjiang,males in the studied population show a blue-grey head without prominent white supercilium,being most similar to the widely disjunct *** differ from the similarly widely allopatric ***,which might occur as a migrant or vagrant in Xinjiang,by on average cleaner yellow breast and more extensive white on the throat,and from the widely disjunct *** and ***,which might also occur on migration in that area,by softer contact calls and slower pace of *** are similar to female *** in *** mitochondrial nD2 tree shows the single sample from Xinjiang to be nested in the clade of western Yellow Wagtail ***:We discuss whether the Xinjiang breeding population could represent an intergrade between subspecies breeding nearby,or whether it is better regarded as a separate as yet unrecognized *** argue that the localization of its apparent range in relation to other subspecies along with fairly consistent male and female plumages suggest that it is more likely to represent an undescribed taxon,but conclude that more research is needed to firmly establish its status.

During the last two decadesnumerous research teams demonstratedthat skeletalmuscles function as an exercise-dependent endocrine organ secreting dozens of *** of physiological and pathophysiological implications of skeletalmusclemyokines secretion has been described;however,upstream signals and sensing mechanisms underlying this phenomenon remain poorly *** is well documented that in skeletal muscles intensive exercise triggers dissipation of transmembrane gradient of monovalent cations caused by permanent activation of voltage-gated nat and Kt ***,we demonstrated that sustained elevation of the[nat]i/[Kt]i ratio triggers expression of dozens ubiquitous genes including several canonical myokines,such as interleukin-6 and cyclooxygenase 2,in the presence of intra-and extracellular Ca2t *** data allowed us to suggest a novel[nat]i/[Kt]i-sensitive,Ca2t i-independent mechanism of excitation-transcription coupling which triggers myokine *** pathway exists in parallel with canonical signaling mediated by Ca2t i,AMP-activated protein kinase and hypoxia-inducible factor 1a(HIF-1a).In ourmini-reviewwe briefly summarize data supporting this hypothesis as well as unresolved issues aiming to forthcoming studies.

Socio-demographic factors impact time to discharge following total knee arthroplasty

AIM To determine social, logistical and demographic factors that influence time to discharge in a short stay pathway(SSP) by following total knee arthroplasty(TKA). METHODS The study included primary TKA's performed in a highvolume arthroplasty center from January 2016 through December 2016. Potential variables associated with increased hospital length of stay(LOS) were obtained from patient medical records. These included age, gender, race, zip code, body mass index(BMI), number of pre-operative medications used, number of narcotic medications used, number of patient reported allergies(PRA), simultaneous bilateral surgery, tobacco use, marital status, living arrangements, distance traveled for surgery, employment history, surgical day of the week, procedure end time and whether the surgery was performed during a major holiday week. Multivariate step-wise regression determined the impact of social, logistical and demographic factors on LOS. RESULTS Eight hundred and six consecutive primary SSP TKA's were included in this study. Patients were discharged at a median of 49 h(post-operative day two). The following factors increased LOS: Simultaneous bilateral TKA [46.1 h longer(P nder [4.3 h longer(P = 0.012)], age [3.5 h longer per ten-year increase in age(P nt-reported allergies [1.1 h longer per allergy reported(P = 0.005)], later procedure endtimes [0.8 h longer per hour increase in end-time(P = 0.004)] and Black or African American patients [6.1 h longer(P = 0.047)]. Decreased LOS was found in married patients [4.8 h shorter(P = 0.011)] and TKA's performed during holiday weeks [9.4 h shorter(P = 0.011)]. non-significant factors included: BMI, median income, patient's living arrangement, smoking status, number of medications taken, use of pre-operative pain medications, distance traveled to hospital, and the day of surgery. Schiff base ligand （HL） derived from 4-hexylaniline with isatin （1H-indole-2,3-dione） and its complexes with Cu（Ⅱ）, ni（Ⅱ） were prepared and characterized by analytical, spectroscopic （IR, UV-Vis, Mass） techniques, electrical conductivity, magnetic and thermal measurements. The crystal and molecular structure of [Cu（HL）2Cl2] was determined by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study. The molecular structure of the title compound has an inversion center on the Cu atom.

Mitral valve(MV)tissue engineering is still in its early stage,and one major challenge in MV tissue engineering is to identify appropriate scaffold *** the potential of acellular MV scaffolds being demonstrated recently,it is important to have a full understanding of the biomechanics of the native MV components and their acellular *** this study,we have successfully characterized the structural and mechanical properties of porcine MV components,including anterior leaflet(AL),posterior leaflet(PL),strut chordae,and basal chordae,before and after *** DnA assay showed more than 90%reduction in DnA content,and Griffonia simplicifolia(GS)lectin immunohistochemistry confirmed the complete lack of porcine𝛼-Gal antigen in the acellular MV *** the acellular AL and PL,the atrialis,spongiosa,and fibrosa trilayered structure,along with its ECM constitutes,i.e.,collagen fibers,elastin fibers,and portion of GAGs,were ***-theless,the ECM of both AL and PL experienced a certain degree of disruption,exhibiting a less dense,porous ECM *** overall anatomical morphology of the strut and basal chordae were also maintained af-ter decellularization,with longitudinal morphology experiencing minimum disruption,but the cross-sectional morphology exhibiting evenly-distributed porous *** the acellular AL and PL,the nonlinear anisotropic biaxial mechanical behavior was overall preserved;however,uniaxial tensile tests showed that the removal of cellular content and the disruption of structural ECM did result in small decreases in maximum tensile modulus,tissue extensibility,failure stress,and failure strain for both MV leaflets and chordae.

What is the prognosis of emphysematous pyelonephritis associated with extended-spectrum beta-lactamases producing microorganisms?

Objective:To describe the microbiological characteristics in emphysematous pyelonephritis(EPn),demonstrate the frequency of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase(ESBL)microorganisms,and determine if these microorganisms are associated with the prognosis of patients with ***:We conducted a retrospective study in patients with a diagnosis of EPn in a tertiary care hospital of the northeast region of Mexico during the period from January 2011 to January *** variables were analyzed to determine association with the presence of ESBL-producing *** significance was set with pnts were included;55(87.3%)of them were females,with a median age of 55(interquartile range:45-65)*** management was indicated in 38.1%;42.9%were treated with ureteral stent;12.7%with open or percutaneous drainage;15.8%with early nephrectomy;and 9.5%with delayed *** mortality was 13(20.6%)cases;23(36.5%)cases required admission to the intensive care *** most frequent microorganism isolated was Escherichia coli(n=34,53.9%).ESBL microorganisms were found in 31.7%of the *** significant association of ESBL was found with admission to the intensive care unit,or with increased ***:To our knowledge,this is the first study that evaluates ESBL microorganisms as a prognostic factor in *** factors associated with a poor prognosis in patients with EPn have been *** microbiological factors,specifically ESBL-producing bacteria,do not seem to influence in the prognosis of these patients.

Calotes versicolor Daudin,1802,is geographically widespread along the Mekong River *** Mekong River is play important role as a significant natural barrier to several terrestrial animals living on different *** study aims to analyze the genetic diversity and population structure of *** populations collected from different sides of Mekong River using mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1(CO1)*** obtained sequences of 200 individuals from 18 sampling localities from left and right sides of the Mekong River in Lao PDR and Thailand ***,91 haplotypes were detected,which reflect high levels of genetic diversity in this species at the study *** network and phylogenetic analyses revealed that there were six major lineages(lineage C–lineage H)of *** populations within the Mekong River,whereas lineages A and B have previously been found from China and *** genetic distance among *** was significantly related to spatial distance,however,the Mekong River had no significant effect on genetic *** findings,together with previous studies,suggests that *** in Asia is a species complex with other cryptic lineages being likely but there is a need for further ***,comprehensive genetic,biological and ecological studies of *** should be conducted throughout its entire distribution range.

A case of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus infection following bile duct stenting

AIM: To present a case of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection following bile duct stenting in a patient with malignant biliary ***: A 78-year-old male patient was admitted to a community hospital with progredient painless jaundice lasting over two weeks, weight loss and sweating at *** a stent should be implanted pre-operatively in jaundiced patients or whether these patients should directly undergo surgical resection, was ***: ERC and a biopsy from the papilla of Vater revealed an adenocarcinoma. In addition, a 7-Ch plastic stent was placed into the common bile duct. Persistent abdominal pain, increasing jaundice, weakness and indigestion led to the transfer of the patient to our hospital.A pylorus-preserving pancreatoduodenectomy wasperformed. Intraoperatively, bile leaked out of the transected choledochus andthe stent was found to be dislocated in the duodenum. A smear of the bile revealed an infection with MRSA, leading to post-operative isolation of the ***:As biliary stents can cause severe infection of the bile, the need for pre-operative placement of biliary stents should be carefully evaluated in each individual case.
