Runoff coefficient(C)values are tabulated and enshrined in hydrological *** values are considered to be constant although they may not correspond to *** the same catchment,they may vary according to intensity,temporal and spatial distribution of precipitation events,humidity condi-tions,soil and land *** study aimed to analyze extreme events of precipitation and their corre-sponding flows to obtain experimental runoff coefficients(C)and compare them with the tabulated *** study was conducted in five experimental catchments in the state of S~ao Paulo,Brazil,with different land *** runoff coefficients(C)were obtained from the analysis of hydrograms and using a digital filter,which made it possible to separate the direct runoff from the total *** observed a different variation in runoff coefficient values between catchments compared to those obtained from the *** runoff coefficients had a high correlation with land *** catchments with original vege-tation cover,such as Cerrado and forest,they varied little among the events analyzed,unlike the catchments where land use is diversified,with predominantly agricultural and urban occupation.

This paper presents an optimization methodology for the geometric configuration of a room–and–pillar mining project,considering safety and operational restrictions while maximizing ore *** underground manganese mine was chosen as a case study to investigate the capabilities of the presented methodology.A software package(OPTIMINE)was implemented to address the computational demand in an automated ***–dimensional finite difference analyses were performed in FLAC3D and used as implicit functions to consider safety in terms of the factor of safety and room *** obtained results showed that recovery could be increased from 44%to more than 80%in a safe manner.

Cardiovascular diseases represent the world’s leading cause of death. In thisheterogeneous group of diseases, ischemic cardiomyopathies are the mostdevastating and prevalent, estimated to cause 17.9 million deaths per *** all biomedical efforts, there are no effective treatments that can replacethe myocytes lost during an ischemic event or progression of the disease to heartfailure. In this context, cell therapy is an emerging therapeutic alternative to treatcardiovascular diseases by cell administration, aimed at cardiac regeneration andrepair. In this review, we will cover more than 30 years of cell therapy in cardiology,presenting the main milestones and drawbacks in the field and signalingfuture challenges and perspectives. The outcomes of cardiac cell therapies arediscussed in three distinct aspects: The search for remuscularization byreplacement of lost cells by exogenous adult cells, the endogenous stem cell era,which pursued the isolation of a progenitor with the ability to induce heart repair,and the utilization of pluripotent stem cells as a rich and reliable source ofcardiomyocytes. Acellular therapies using cell derivatives, such as microvesiclesand exosomes, are presented as a promising cell-free therapeutic alternative.

The objective of this research is to investigate the impact of infestation by the confused flour beetle Tribolium confusum on the specification of flour and its product. The results of this work showed that infestation by the confused flour beetle with 5 pairs of adult stage and its progeny within 3 months period may cause high deterioration and damaged of the flour specification. The people in lraq get their flour from some official and non-official mills which they produce not so good quality of this flour in addition to which it contains some times an infestation with the two species of the flour beetles T. castaneum and T. confusum, when people do not use this quantity as quickly as possible during this period of storage, the beetles will be increased in numbers and make the flour unacceptable for any kind of pastes or bread. The infestation by this beetle causes great pollution to the flour by the ecdysial of larvae and a bad smell that it leaves on the flour and all its products.

Congenital anomalies of the female tubular genital tract are rare and known as segmental aplasia, resulting from incomplete development of paramesonephric ducts during embryonic stage, which originate from the cranial portion of vagina, cervix, uterus and oviducts. In the literature consulted, several reports of uterine horn aplasia are described in bitches, however there is only one report described in the world literature on total aplasia of the body of the uterus. This study aimed to describe the case of a two years old bitch, no breed defined, with 12 kg of weight, with segmental aplasia of uterus body diagnosed during ovariohysterectomy. During surgery it was noted that the bitch had the ovaries and uterine horns in their anatomical position, however an aplasia was noted in the body of the uterus. It was also found that the uterine horns had liquid inside, suggesting hydrometra. It was concluded in this case that although segmental aplasia of the body of the uterus is rare and difficult to diagnose by maintaining normal cyclicity of the female, it should be considered in dogs that do not have bloody vaginal discharge in proestrus and can not become pregnant after natural coverage or artificial insemination.

AIM To evaluate the effects of chronic exposure to ethanol in the liver and the expression of inflammatory genesin *** Zebrafish(n = 104),wild type,adult,male and female,were divided into two groups:Control and ethanol(0.05 v/v).The ethanol was directly added into water;tanks water were changed every two days and the ethanol *** animals were fed twice a day with fish food until *** two and four weeks of trial,livers were dissected,histological analysis(hematoxilineosin and Oil Red staining) and gene expression assessment of adiponectin,adiponectin receptor 2(adipor2),sirtuin-1(sirt-1),tumor necrosis factor-alpha(tnf-a),interleukin-1b(il-1b) and interleukin-10(il-10) were *** evaluations were conducted at fourth *** Exposing zebrafish to 0.5% ethanol developed intense liver steatosis after four weeks,as demonstrated by oil red *** ethanol-treated animals,the main ultrastructural changes were related to cytoplasmic lipid particles and droplets,increased number of rough endoplasmic reticulum cisterns and glycogen *** two and four weeks,hepatic mR NA expression of il-1b,sirt-1 and adipor2 were upregulated,indicating that ethanol triggered signaling molecules which are key elements in both hepatic inflammatory and protective *** was not detected in the liver of animals exposed and not exposed to ethanol,and il-10 did not show significant *** Data suggest that inflammatory signaling and ultrastructural alterations play a significant role during hepatic steatosis in zebrafish chronically exposed to ethanol.
