The mechanism regulating proteasomal activity under proteotoxic stress conditions remains ***,we showed that arsenite-induced proteotoxic stress resulted in upregulation of Arabidopsis homologous PUB22 and PUB23 U-boxE3 ubiquitin ligases and that pub22 pub23 double mutants displayed arsenite-insensitive seed germination and root growth ***22/PUB23 downregulated 26 S proteasome activity by promoting the dissociation of the 19 S regulatory particle from the holo-proteasome complex,resulting in intracellular accumulation of UbG76 VGFP,an artificial substrate of the proteasome complex,and insoluble poly-ubiquitinated *** results suggest that PUB22/PUB23 play a critical role in arsenite-induced proteotoxic stress response via negative regulation of 26 S proteasome integrity.

Objective:The effectiveness of adjuvant treatments for resected gallbladder carcinoma(GBC)has remained unclear due to lack of randomized controlled trials;thus,the aim of present study was to evaluate the role of adjuvant treatments,including chemoradiotherapy(CRT)and/or chemotherapy(CTx),in patients with resected ***:A total of 733 GBC patients who received curative-intent surgical resection were identified in a multi-institutional *** 733 patients,372(50.8%)did not receive adjuvant treatment,whereas 215(29.3%)and 146(19.9%)received adjuvant CTx and CRT,*** locoregional recurrence-free survival(LRFS),recurrence-free survival(RFS),and overall survival(OS)of the adjuvant treatment groups were compared according to tumor stage(stage II *** III–IV).Results:In stage II disease(n=381),the 5-year LRFS,RFS,and OS were not significantly different among the no-adjuvant therapy,CTx,and CRT groups,and positive resection margin,presence of perineural invasion,and Nx classification were consistently associated with worse LRFS,RFS,and OS in the multivariate analysis(P<0.05).For stage III–IV(n=352),the CRT group had significantly higher 5-year LRFS,RFS,and OS than the no-adjuvant therapy and CTx groups(67.8%,45.2%,and 56.9%;37.9%,28.8%,and 35.4%;and 45.0%,30.0%,and 45.7%,respectively)(P<0.05).Conclusions:CRT has value as adjuvant treatment for resected GBC with stage III–IV *** study is needed for stage II disease with high-risk features.

Objecive:To screen the fatty acid(FA) composition of 20 marine microalgae species,including seven Diophyceae,six Bacillariophyeae four Chlorophyceae,two Haptophyceae and one Raphidophyceae ***:Microalgal cells cultured at the Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology were harvested during the late exponential growth phase and the FA composition ***:The FA composition of microalgae was *** example,seven different species of Dinophyceae were composed primarily of C14:0,C16:0.C18:0.C20:4n-6.C20:5n-3 and C22:*** C14:0.C16:0,C16:1.C18:0.C20:5n-3 and C22:6n-3 were abundant FAs in six species of *** addition,four Chlurophyceae,two Haptopkyeeae and one Raphidophyceae species all contained a high degree of C16:1 n-7[(9.2R-34.91)%and(34.48-35.04)%].C14:0[(13.34-25.96)%]and[(26.69-Z8.24)%],and C16:0[(5.89-29.15)%]and[(5.70-16.81)%].Several factors contribute to the nutritional value of *** the polyunsaturated FA content and n-3 to n-6 FA ratio,which could be used to assess the nutritional quality of ***:This study is the first comprehensive assessment of the FA composition and nutritional value of microalgae species in South Korea,and identifies the potential utility of FAs as species-specific biomarkers.

Background:Cholangiocarcinoma was considered as a dismal disease with very poor prognosis until *** is increasingly found due to increased life *** surgical and medical management were advanced recently,data on the prognosis,especially extrahepatic cholangio-carcinoma(ECC),were *** study aimed to identify clinicopathologic features and prognosis of patients with ***:Patients followed up and diagnosed with ECC between January 2014 and December 2016 at a tertiary hospital were included,whereas those with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma,gallbladder cancer,and ampullary cancer were ***:A total of 83 patients were followed after the treatment(49 men and 34 women;median age 73.3 years).Cancer location was classified as distal common bile duct(25 patients),proximal com-mon bile duct(24 patients),common hepatic duct(20 patients),and hilar(14 patients).About 14.5%of patients had history of another malignant neoplasm,and 24.1%patients had chronic ***-cal resection was performed in 54 patients(65%)and dysplasia was combined in 63%(34/54).Adjuvant chemotherapy was performed in 54%(29/54),but only 7 underwent palliative chemotherapy in 29 non-surgical *** median overall survival in all patients was 30.9 *** analyzing the treatment modality,median survival of adjuvant chemotherapy,surgery only,palliative chemotherapy,and support-ive care groups were 42.9,30.9,12.0,and 8.9 months,respectively(P<0.05).In the Cox regression analy-sis of survival,age,surgical resection,chemotherapy,and comorbidity were significant prognostic factors,and the comorbidity was the only significant prognostic factor in the multivariable analysis(hazard ratio[HR]=2.80;95%CI:1.32–5.95;P=0.007).In a subgroup analysis of surgical patients,the presence of dysplasia was a favorable prognostic factor in the multivariable analysis(HR=0.29;95%CI:0.09–0.91;P=0.033).Conclusions:The overall survival of patients with ECC wa

Recently,reactive materials have been developed for penetrative projectiles to improve impact resistance and energy ***,the design of a reactive material structure,involving shape and size,is challenging because of difficulties such as high non-linearity of impact resistance,manufacturing limitations of reactive materials and high expenses of penetration *** this study,a design optimization methodology for the reactive material structure is developed based on the finite element analysis.A finite element model for penetration analysis is introduced to save the expenses of the *** resistance is assessed through the analysis,and result is calibrated by comparing with experimental *** on the model,topology optimization is introduced to determine shape of the *** design variables and constraints of the optimization are proposed considering the manufacturing limitations,and the optimal shape that can be manufactured by cold spraying is *** on the optimal shape,size optimization is introduced to determine the geometric dimensions of the *** a result,optimal design of the reactive material structure and steel case of the penetrative projectile,which maximizes the impact resistance,is *** the design process proposed in this study,reactive material structures can be designed considering not only mechanical performances but also manufacturing limitations,with reasonable time and cost.

Herbal medicines （HMs） are often used in combination with Western medicines （WMs） to improve therapeutic efficacies of orthodox medicines. This review discussed the current status of combination treatment with HMs and WMs in clinical practices. The influence of HMs on bioavailability of WMs was also discussed from the pharmacokinetic point of view. In addition, benefits and considerations of combination treatment were discussed using data obtained from clinical trials and randomized controlled trials of HMs treatment in skin diseases.

Transanal minimally invasive surgery(TAMIS)was first described in 2010 as an alternative to transanal endoscopic microsurgery(TEM).The TAMIS technique can be access to the proximal and mid-rectum for resection of benign and earlystage malignant rectal lesions and also used for noncurative intent surgery of more advanced lesions in patients who are not candidates for radical *** has a shorter learning curve,reduced device setup time,flexibility in instrument use,and versatility in application than ***,TAMIS shows similar results in a view of the operation time,conversion rate,reoperation rate,and complication to *** these reasons,TAMIS is an easily accessible,technically feasible,and cost-effective alternative to ***,TAMIS has enabled the performance of high-quality local excision of rectal lesions by many colorectal *** TAMIS becomes more broadly utilized such as pelvic abscess drainage,rectal stenosis,and treatment of anastomotic dehiscence,the acquisition of appropriate training must be ensured,and the continued assessment and assurance of outcome must be maintained.
