In this study,we conducted a search for dark matter using a part of the data recorded by the CMs experiment during run-I of the LHC in 2012 with a center of mass energy of 8 teV and an integrated luminosity of 11.6 fb−*** data were gathered from the CMs open *** matter,in the framework of the simplified model(mono-Z′),can be produced from proton-proton collisions in association with a new hypothetical gauge boson,Z′.thus,the search was conducted in the dimuon plus large missing transverse momentum *** benchmark scenario of mono-Z′,which is known as light vector,was used for interpreting the CMs open *** evidence of dark matter was observed,and exclusion limits were set on the masses of dark matter and Z′at 95%confidence level.

Mathematical modelling of ball and plate system with experimental and correlation function-based model validation

the ball and plate system is an inherently nonlinear under actuated benchmark system used for validating the performance of various control schemes. A mathematical model depicting the dynamics close to that of the system is very much required for such a test bed. In this correspondence, the complete nonlinear model, a simplified nonlinear model, and a linearized model of the ball and plate system are developed. the system comprises a ball and plate mechanism and a rotary servo unit. the ball and plate mechanism is modelled using the Euler–Lagrange method, whereas the rotary servo subsystem is modelled from the first principles. the nonlinear model of the combined system is developed by including the dynamics of the servo motor with gear and rolling resistance between the ball and the plate. the simplified nonlinear model of the system is obtained with suitable assumptions. the model is linearized around the operating point using the Jacobian. the validity of the developed models is investigated through correlation function analysis. the open-loop response of the three models, viz., nonlinear, simplified nonlinear, and linearized models, is analyzed in the MAtLAB/simulink platform. since the open-loop system is unstable, the experimental validation of the model is performed with a double-loop PsO (particle swarm optimization) PID control scheme.

the EsA and CAs sMILE mission orbit is highly elliptical and will pass through multiple radiation *** soft X-ray Imager(sXI)instrument aboard has a radiation shutter door designed to close when the surrounding radiation flux is *** shutter door will close when passing below an altitude threshold to protect against trapped particles in the Earth’s Van Allen ***,two radiation environments can be approximated based on the shutter door position:open and *** instrument background for the CCDs(Charge-Coupled Devices)that form the focal plane array of the sXI were evaluated for the two *** to the correlation of the space environment with the solar cycle,the solar minima and maxima,the background was also evaluated at these two *** results demonstrated that the highest instrument background will occur during solar minima due to the main contributing source being Galactic Cosmic Rays(GCRs).It was also found that the open background was highest for solar minima and that the closed background was highest during solar *** is due to the radiation shutter door acting as a scattering centre and the changes in the energy flux distribution of the GCRs between the two solar extremes.

throughout the sMILE mission the satellite will be bombarded by radiation which gradually damages the focal plane devices and degrades their *** order to understand the changes of the CCD370s within the soft X-ray Imager,an initial characterisation of the devices has been carried out to give a baseline performance *** CCDs have been characterised,the two flight devices and the flight spa *** has been carried out at the Open University in a bespo ke cleanroom measure ment *** results show that there is a cluster of bright pixels in the flight spa re which increases in size with tempe *** at the nominal ope rating tempe rature(-120℃) it is within the procure ment ***,the devices meet the specifications when ope rating at -120℃ in 6 × 6 binned frame transfer science *** se rial charge transfer inefficiency degrades with temperature in full frame *** any charge losses are recovered when binning/frame transfer is implemented.

Owing to their high color purity,tunable bandgap,and high efficiency,quantum dots(QDs)have gained significant attention as color conversion materials for high-end display ***,inkjet-printed QD pixels show great potential for realizing full-color mini/micro-light emitting diode(micro-LED)-based *** a color conversion layer,the photoluminescence intensity of QDs is limited by the insufficient absorptance of the excitation light due to the lack of *** scatterers,such as titanium dioxide microparticles,have been applied after additional surface engineering for sufficient dispersity to prevent nozzle clogging in inkjet printing *** our work,as an alternative approach,we use inkjet printing for depositing a phase separating polymer ink based on polystyrene(Ps)and polyethylene glycol(PEG).QD/polymer composite pixels with scattering micropores are *** morphology of the micropores can be tailored by the weight ratio between Ps and PEG which enables the manipulation of scattering *** the presence of the microporous structure,the photoluminescence intensity of the QD film is enhanced by 110%in drop-cast films and by 35.3%in inkjet-printed QD pixel arrays compared to the reference samples.

A modular microfluidic platform to study how fluid shear stress alters estrogen receptor phenotype in ER+breast cancer cells

Metastatic breast cancer leads to poor prognoses and worse outcomes in patients due to its invasive behavior and poor response to *** is still unclear what biophysical and biochemical factors drive this more aggressive phenotype in metastatic cancer;however recent studies have suggested that exposure to fluid shear stress in the vasculature could cause *** this study a modular microfluidic platform capable of mimicking the magnitude of fluid shear stress(Fss)found in human vasculature was designed and *** device provides a platform to evaluate the effects of Fss on MCF-7 cell line,an estrogen receptor positive(ER+)breast cancer cell line,during circulation in the *** of the effects of Fss on MCF-7 cells was carried out utilizing two approaches:single cell analysis and bulk *** single cell analysis,cells were trapped in a microarray after exiting the serpentine channel and followed by immunostaining on the device(on-chip).Bulk analysis was performed after cells were collected in a microtube at the outlet of the microfluidic serpentine channel for western blotting(off-chip).It was found that cells exposed to an Fss magnitude of 10 dyn/cm^(2) with a residence time of 60 s enhanced expression of the proliferation marker Ki67 in the MCF-7 cell line at a single cell *** understand possible mechanisms for enhanced Ki67 expression,on-chip and off-chip analyses were performed for pro-growth and survival pathways ERK,AKt,and JAK/*** demonstrated that after shearing the cells phosphorylation of p-AKt,p-mtOR,and p-stAt3 were ***,there was no change in p-ERK1/*** is a mediator of ER rapid signaling,analysis of phosphorylated ERαwas carried out and no significant differences between sheared and non-sheared populations were *** together these results demonstrate that Fss can increase phosphorylation of proteins associated with a more aggressive phenotype in circulating cancer *** findin

Investigating zeolites as hydrogen storage scaffolds is imperative due to their porous nature and favorable physicochemical ***,the storage capacity of the unmodified zeolites has been rather unsatisfactory(0.224%-1.082%(mass))compared to its modified ***,the contemporary focus on enhancing hydrogen storage capacities has led to significant attention towards the utilization of modified zeolites,with studies exploring surface modifications through physical and chemical treatments,as well as the integration of various active *** enhanced hydrogen storage properties of zeolites are attributed to the presence of aluminosilicates from alkaline and alkaline-earth metals,resulting in increased storage capacity through interactions with the charge density of these ***,there is a great demand to critically review their role such as well-defined topology,pore structure,good thermal stability,and tunable hydrophilicity in enhanced hydrogen *** article aimed to critically review the recent research findings based on modified zeolite performance for enhanced hydrogen *** of the factors affecting the hydrogen storage capacities of zeolites that can affect the rate of reaction and the stability of the adsorbent,like pressure,structure,and morphology were studied,and ***,future perspectives,recommendations,and directions for modified zeolites were discussed.
