A particle-resolved heat-particle-fluid coupling model by DEM-IMB-LBM

Multifield coupling is frequently encountered and also an active area of research in geotechnical *** this work,a particle-resolved direct numerical simulat.on(PR-DNS)technique is extended to simulate particle-fluid interact.on problems involving heat transfer at the grain *** this extended technique,an immersed moving boundary(IMB)scheme is used to couple the discrete element met.od(DEM)and lattice Boltzmann met.od(LBM),while a recently proposed Dirichlet-type thermal boundary condit.on is also adapted to account for heat transfer between fluid phase and solid *** resulting DEM-IBM-LBM model is robust to simulate moving curved boundaries with constant temperature in thermal *** facilitate the understanding and implementat.on of this coupled model for non-isothermal problems,a complete list is given for the conversion of relevant physical variables to lattice ***,benchmark tests,including a single-particle sedimentat.on and a t.o-particle drafting-kissing-tumbling(DKt)simulat.on with heat transfer,are carried out to validate the accuracy of our coupled *** further investigate the role of heat transfer in particle-laden flows,t.o multiple-particle problems with heat transfer are *** examples demonstrate that the proposed coupling model is a promising high-resolut.on approach for simulating the heat-particle-fluid coupling at the grain level.

the high-resolut.on DEM-IMB-LBM model can accurately describe pore-scale fluid-solid interact.ons,but its potential for use in geotechnical engineering analysis has not been fully unleashed due to its prohibitive computat.onal *** overcome this limitat.on,a message passing interface(MPI)parallel DEM-IMB-LBM framework is proposed aimed at enhancing computat.on *** framework utilises a static domain decomposit.on scheme,with the entire computat.on domain being decomposed into multiple subdomains according to predefined processors.A detailed parallel strategy is employed for both contact detect.on and hydrodynamic force *** particular,a particle ID re-numbering scheme is proposed to handle particle transit.ons across sub-domain *** benchmarks are conducted to validate the accuracy and overall performance of the proposed ***,the framework is applied to simulate scenarios involving multi-particle sedimentat.on and submarine *** numerical examples effectively demonstrate the robustness and applicability of the MPI parallel DEM-IMB-LBM framework.

owing to their high color purity,tunable bandgap,and high efficiency,quantum dots(QDs)have gained significant attent.on as color conversion materials for high-end display ***,inkjet-printed QD pixels show great potential for realizing full-color mini/micro-light emitting diode(micro-LED)-based *** a color conversion layer,the photoluminescence intensity of QDs is limited by the insufficient absorptance of the excitat.on light due to the lack of *** scatterers,such as titanium dioxide microparticles,have been applied after addit.onal surface engineering for sufficient dispersity to prevent nozzle clogging in inkjet printing *** our work,as an alternative approach,we use inkjet printing for depositing a phase separating polymer ink based on polystyrene(PS)and polyethylene glycol(PEG).QD/polymer composite pixels with scattering micropores are *** morphology of the micropores can be tailored by the weight rat.o between PS and PEG which enables the manipulat.on of scattering *** the presence of the microporous structure,the photoluminescence intensity of the QD film is enhanced by 110%in drop-cast films and by 35.3%in inkjet-printed QD pixel arrays compared to the reference samples.

Localizat.on−delocalizat.on transit.ons in non-Hermitian Aharonov−Bohm cages

A unique feature of non-Hermitian systems is the extreme sensitivity of the eigenspectrum to boundary condit.ons with the emergence of the non-Hermitian skin effect (NHSE). A NHSE originates from the point-gap topology of complex eigenspectrum, where an extensive number of eigenstates are anomalously localized at the boundary driven by nonreciprocal dissipat.on. t.o different approaches to create localizat.on are disorder and flat-band spectrum, and their interplay can lead to the anomalous inverse Anderson localizat.on, where the Bernoulli anti-symmetric disorder induces mobility in a full-flat band system in the presence of Aharonov−Bohm (AB) Cage. In this work, we study the localizat.on−delocalizat.on transit.ons due to the interplay of the point-gap topology, flat band and correlated disorder in the one-dimensional rhombic lattice, where both its Hermitian and non-Hermitian structures show AB cage in the presence of magnetic flux. Alt.ough it remains the coexistence of localizat.on and delocalizat.on for the Hermitian rhombic lattice in the presence of the random anti-symmetric disorder, it surprisingly becomes complete delocalizat.on, accompanied by the emergence of NHSE. to further study the effects from the Bernoulli anti-symmetric disorder, we found the similar NHSE due to the interplay of the point-gap topology, correlated disorder and flat bands. our anomalous localizat.on−delocalizat.on property can be experimentally tested in the classical physical plat.orm, such as electrical circuit.

Phlomoides,with 150-170 species,is the second largest and perhaps most taxonomically challenging genus within the subfamily Lamioideae(Lamiaceae).With about 60 species,China is one of three major biodiversity centers of *** some Phlomoides species from China have been included in previous molecular phylogenetic studies,a robust and broad phylogeny of this lineage has yet to be ***,given the myriad new addit.ons to the genus,the existing infrageneric classificat.on needs to be evaluated and ***,we combine molecular and morphological data to investigate relat.onships within Phlomoides,with a focus on Chinese *** observed that plastid DNA sequences can resolve relat.onships within Phlomoides better than nuclear ribosomal internal and external transcribed spacer regions(nrItS and nrEtS).Molecular phylogenetic analyses confirm the monophyly of Phlomoides,but most previously defined infrageneric groups are not *** addit.on,morphological analysis demonstrates the significant taxonomic value of eight characters to the *** on our molecular phylogenetic analyses and morphological data,we establish a novel sect.on Notochaete within Phlomoides,and propose three new combinat.ons as well as three new *** study presents the first molecular phylogenetic analyses of Phlomoides in which taxa representative of the entire genus are included,and highlights the phylogenetic and taxonomic value of several morphological characters from species of Phlomoides from *** study suggests that a taxonomic revision and reclassificat.on for the entire genus is necessary in the future.

In situ tEM investigat.on of elect.on irradiat.on and aging-induced high-density nanoprecipitates in an Mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr alloy

In-situ elect.on irradiat.on and aging are applied to int.oduce high-density precipitates in an Mg-10Gd-3Y-1Zn-0.5Zr(GWZ1031K,wt.%)alloy to improve the *** results show that the hardness of the Mg alloy after irradiat.on for 10 h and aging for 9 h at 250℃ is 1.64 GPa,which is approximately 64% higher than that.of the samples before being *** is mainly attributed to γ'precipitates on the basal plane after irradiat.on and the high-density nanoscale β'precipitates on the prismatic plane after aging,which should be closely related to the irradiat.on-induced homogenous *** latter plays a key role in precipitat.on *** result paves a way to improve the mechanical properties of metallic materials by tailoring the precipitat.on through irradiat.on and aging.

the Nambu–Jona-Lasinio model is utilized to investigate the pion-and kaon-photon leading-twist transit.on distribut.on amplitudes using proper time ***,the properties of the vector and axial vector pion-photon transit.on distribut.on amplitudes are examined,and the results meet the desired *** study involves sum rule and polynomiality *** vector and axial vector pion-photon transit.on form factors that are present in theπ^(+)→γe^(+)νprocess are the first Mellin moments of the pion-photon transit.on distribut.on *** vector transit.on form factor originates from the internal structure of hadrons,the axial current can be coupled to a pion,this pion is virtual,and its contribut.on will be present independently of the external *** kaon transit.on form factors are *** vector form factor's value at zero momentum transfer is determined by the axial anomaly,while this is not the case for the axial *** vector and axial form factors,as well as the neutral pion vector form factor F_(πγγ)(t),are *** to our findings,the pion axial transit.on form factor is harder than the vector transit.on form factor and harder than the elect.omagnetic form *** also discuss the link betweenπ−γandγ−πtransit.ons distribut.on amplitudes.
