the synthesis of biological silicon nano-particles(Bio-si-NPs)is an eco-friendly and lowcost *** is no study focusing on the effect of Bio-si-NPs on the plants grown on saline soil cont.minated with heavy *** this study,an att.mpt was made to synthesis Bio-si-NPs using potassium silica florid substrate,and the identified Aspergillus tubingensis Am11 isolate that separated from distribution syst.ms of the potable water.A twoyear field trial was conducted to compare the protective effects of Bio-si-NPs(2.5 and 5.0 mmol/L)and potassium silicate(10 mmol/L)as a foliar spray on the antioxidant defense syst.m,physio-biochemical components,and the cont.minants contents of Phaseolus vulgaris *** on saline soil cont.minated with heavy *** findings showed that all treatments of Bio-si-NPs and potassium silicate significantly improved plant growth and production,chlorophylls,carotenoids,transpiration rate,net photosynthetic rate,st.matal conductance,membrane stability index,relative water content,free proline,total soluble sugars,N,P,K,Ca2+,K+/Na+,and the activities of peroxidase,catalase,ascorbic peroxidase and superoxide oxide *** of Bio-si-NPs and potassium silicate significantly decreased electrolyte leakage,malondialdehyde,H2 O2,O2·-,Na+,Pb,Cd,and Ni in leaves and pods of Phaseolus vulgaris *** to ***-si-NPs were more effective compared to potassium *** of Bio-si-NPs at the rate of 5 mmol/L was the recommended treatment to enhance the performance and reduce heavy metals content on plants grown on cont.minated saline soils.

the paper presents the investigation of the effect of alkaline treatment of sodium hydroxide(NaOH) on physical and dynamic mechanical analysis(DmA) viscoelastic properties of kenaf fibre filled natural rubber(NR)/thermoplastic polyurethane(tPU) *** treated kenaf fiber,NR and tPU were weighed and proportioned according to the required compositions and were blended using hot.mixed Brabender *** polymer composites were then fabricated using the hot press to form a sample *** sample was cut and prepared and water absorption,density,thickness swelling and DmA tests were *** far as physical properties are concerned,composites with the highest NR amount of shows the best results,which indicates good fiber bonding *** polymer composites with the highest amount of tPU shows the highest damping properties at high t.mperature.

Ion heat transport in electron cyclotron resonance heated L-mode plasma on the t-10 tokamak

Anomalous ion heat transport is analyzed in the t-10 tokamak plasma heated with electron cyclotron resonance heating(ECRH) in second-harmonic extra-ordinary mode. Predictive modeling with empirical scaling for Ohmical heat conductivity shows that in ECRH plasmas the calculated ion t.mperature could be overest.mated, so an increase of anomalous ion heat transport is required. to study this effect two scans are presented: over the EC resonance position and over the ECRH power. the EC resonance position varies from the high-field side to the low-field side by variation of the toroidal magnetic field. the scan over the heating power is presented with on-axis and mixed ECRH regimes. Discharges with high anomalous ion heat transport are obtained in all considered regimes. In these discharges the power balance ion heat conductivity exceeds the neoclassical level by up to 10 t.mes. the high ion heat transport regimes are distinguished by three parameters: the ratio te/ti, the normalized electron density gradient R/■, and the ion–ion collisionality νii~*. the combination of high te/ti, high νii~*, and R/■=6-10 results in values of normalized anomalous ion heat fluxes up to 10 t.mes higher than in the low transport scenario.

the role of the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux theory in the two-dimensional laminar flow of the Jeffrey liquid is discussed with a vertical sheet. the salient feature in the energy equation is accounted due to the implementation of the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux. A liquid with variable thermal conductivity is considered in the Darcy-Forchheimer porous space. the mathematical expressions of moment.m and energy are coupled due to the presence of mixed convection. A highly nonlinear coupled syst.m of equations is tackled with the homotopic algorit.m. the convergence of the homotopy expressions is calculated graphically and numerically. the solutions of the velocity and t.mperature are expressed for various values of the Deborah number, the ratio of the relaxation t.me to the retardation t.me, the porosity parameter, the mixed convective parameter, the Darcy-Forchheimer parameter, and the conductivity parameter. the results show that the velocity and t.mperature are higher in Fourier＇s law of heat conduction cases in comparison with the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model.

Heat energy generated during machining has been found to have a greater influence on determining the machinability of the *** this work,magnesium-based silicon carbide composite,which has been identified as a suitable lightweight application material,is prepared with the weight ratio of 90:10 by a stir casting *** available Hss drill tools with different diameters of 4,6 and 8 mm are used to perform the drilling operations with governing parameters of spindle speed,feed rate and constant depth of *** image camera of the FLIR E60 series is used to measure the t.mperature variation in the cutting zone at different operating *** influences of machining t.mperature on chip morphology,tool wear and surface profile of the machined samples are *** speed has been found to have a significant effect on machining *** spindle speed increases,the diameter of drill tool increases the tool wear and surface profile,*** abrasion and adhesive type of wears are observed in the drill ***,change from abrasion to adhesive wear is noticed with the increase of the diameter of the drill *** plots are drawn with respect to the interaction of governing parameters along with the working t.mperatures obtained under different.machining conditions.

Nanosecond Pulses Generation with samarium Oxide Film saturable Absorber

Nanosecond pulse generation is demonstrated in a mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL) utilizing a samarium oxide(sm2O3) film. the sm2O3 film exhibits a modulation depth of 33%, which is suitable for modelocking operation. the passively pulsed EDFL operates stably at 1569.8 nm within a pumping power from 109 to 146 m W. the train of generated output pulses has a pulse width of 356 nm repeated at a fundamental frequency of 0.97 mHz. the average output power of 3.91 m W is obtained at a pump power of 146 m W, corresponding to 4.0 nJ pulse energy. the experimental result indicates that the proposed sm2O3 saturable absorber is viable for the construction of a flexible and reliably stable mode-locked pulsed fiber laser operating in the 1.5 m region.

Ion Beam surface modification of Y-tZP and Effects of subsequent Annealing

tetragonal zirconia polycrystals containing 3 mol% yttria (3Y-tZP), which show superplasticity at high t.mperatures, were irradiated using 130 meV Zr+" ions in the tANDEm accelerator facility at tokai Research Establishment, JAERI. the irradiation induced at.mic displacement damage was analyzed by tRIm code. Changes in the mechanical properties and fracture behavior caused by the ion irradiation and the effects of subsequent annealing were studied. the distribution of micro-indentation depth as a function of the indentation position from the irradiated surface to the specimen interior was also examined. the occurrence of compressive residual stresses and increases in hardness and fracture toughness were found in the as-irradiated surface region of the specimen. the subsequent annealing revealed that these quantities were decreased gradually with raising the annealing t.mperature. Probable causes of the generation of the residual stress and the changes in mechanical properties and fracture mode due to the irradiation are discussed.

mHD stagnation point flow towards heated shrinking surface subjected to heat generation/absorption

the magnetohydrodynamic （mHD） stagnation point flow of micropolar flu- ids towards a heated shrinking surface is analyzed. the effects of viscous dissipation and internal heat generation/absorption are taken into account. two explicit cases, i.e., the prescribed surface t.mperature （Pst） and the prescribed heat flux （PHF）, are discussed. the boundary layer flow and energy equations are solved by employing the homotopy analysis method. the quantities of physical interest are examined through the presenta- tion of plots/tabulated values. It is noticed that the existence of the solutions for high shrinking parameters is associated closely with the applied magnetic field.

Biodiversity and ecological assessments of Indian sacred groves

sacred groves are patches of forests preserved for their spiri- tual and religious significance. the practice gained relevance with the spread of agriculture that caused large-scale deforestation affecting bio- diversity and watersheds. sacred groves may lose their prominence nowadays, but are still relevant in Indian rural landscapes inhabited by traditional communities. the recent rise of interest in this tradition encouraged scientific study that despite its pan-Indian distribution, focused on India＇s northeast, Western Ghats and east coast either for their global/regional importance or unique ecosyst.ms. most studies focused on flora, mainly angiosperms, and the faunal studies concentrated on vertebrates while lower life fomas were grossly neglected. studies on ecosyst.m functioning are few although observations are available. most studies attributed watershed protection values to sacred groves but hardly highlighted hydrological process or water yield in comparison with other land use types. the grove studies require diversification from a stereo- typed path and must.move towards creating credible scientific foundations for conservation. Documentation should continue in unexplored areas but.more work is needed on basic ecological functions and ecosyst.m dynamics to strengthen planning for scientifically sound sacred grove management.
