Risk of alcohol use relapse after liver transplantation for alcoholic liver disease

AIM to investigate factors, including psychosocial factors, associated with alcoholic use relapse after liver transplantation(Lt) for alcoholic liver disease(ALD).MEtHODS the clinical records of 102 patients with ALD who were referred to Nagoya University Hospital for Lt between May 2003 and March 2015 were retrospectively evaluated. History of alcohol intake was obtained from their clinical records and scored according to the HighRisk Alcoholism Relapse scale, which includes duration of heavy drinking, types and amount of alcohol usuallyconsumed, and previous inpatient treatment history for alcoholism. All patients were assessed for eligibility for Lt according to comprehensive criteria, including ChildPugh score, Model for End-Stage Liver Disease score, and psychosocial criteria. RESULtS Of the 102 patients with ALD referred for Lt, seven(6.9%) underwent Lt. One(14.3%) of these seven patients returned to heavy drinking, but that patient was able to successfully quit drinking following an immediate intervention, consisting of psychotherapeutic education and supportive psychotherapy, by a psychiatrist. A comparison between the transplantation/registration(t/R) group, consisting of the seven patients who underwent Lt and 10 patients listed for deceased donor Lt, and 50 patients who did not undergo Lt and were not listed for deceased donor Lt(non-t/R group), showed statistically significant differences in duration of abstinence period(P tion of heavy drinking(P to medical treatment(P tion of abstinence(P tients with ALD referred for Lt require comprehensive evaluation, including evaluation of psychosocial criteria, to prevent alcoholic recidivism.

在X射线暴高温高密度的环境中,18Ne(α,p)21Na很可能是由热CNO循环突破到rp过程的一个重要反应。到目前为止,人们测得的反应率还存在很大的不确定性。实验中用CRIB(CNS Radioactive Ion Beam separator)提供的21Na放射性束轰击8.8 mg/cm2的聚乙烯厚靶,利用放置在θlab=-14°,0°,14°处的3套硅条探测器望远镜阵列对反冲轻粒子进行鉴别和测量,测得在一段能区(Ex=5.5～9.2MeV)内21Na(p,p)21Na的激发函数。通过对21Na(p,p)共振弹性散射截面进行R矩阵拟合,得到了22Mg共振能级的自旋宇称以及质子宽度等信息,从而为计算18Ne(α,p)21Na反应率提供了实验参数。

the paper includes discussions on the important role of neutron and alpha configurations in proton-rich nuclei in nuclear astrophysics in terms of nucleosynthesis under extremely high-temperature hydrogenburning conditions. the νp-process, which is supposed to take place at the very early epoch of type II supernovae, has considerable neutrons and alphas together with protons. the alpha-induced reactions on proton-rich unstable nuclei in the light mass regions is expected to play a crucial role, but very few of them were investigated well yet because of the experimental difficulties. Specifically, I report our recent experimental effort for the breakout process from the pp-chain region,~7Be(α, γ)^(11)C(α,p)^(14)N under the νp-process. the neutron-induced reactions on proton-rich nuclei, which is even more a challenging subject, were investigated previously for very few nuclei. One possible experimental method is the trojan Horse Method(tHM). We successfully have applied tHM to the ^(18)F(n,α)^(14)N reaction study with an unstable beam of ^(18)F.

Angular distribution of the cross sections of the elastic He-transfer of the He nucleus on the Be target were measured at the incident energy of 25 MeV/*** experimental data at the backward angles were analyzed within the finite-range DWBA framework.A large spectroscopic amplitude of 1.41 for the He-cluster in the ground state of the Be nucleus was needed for this experiment,which is much larger than its theoretical prediction of 0.286.

＜正＞the recessive ’tall rice’ mutant, elongated uppermost internode （eui）, is morphologically normal until its final internode elongates drastically at the heading stage. the stage-specific developmental effect of the eui mutation has been utilized in the breeding of hybrid rice to improve the performance of heading in male sterile cultivars. We found that the eui mutant accumulated exceptionally large amounts of biologically active gibberellins （GAs） in the uppermost internode.
