Autoimmune pancreatitis versus pancreaticcancer: a comprehensive review withemphasis on differential diagnosis

BACKGROUND: Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP) is a rare form of chronic pancreatitis with a discrete pathophysiology occasional diagnostic radiological findings, and characteristic histological features. Its etiology and pathogenesis are still under investigation, especially during the last decade Another aspect of interest is the attempt to establish specific criteria for the differential diagnosis between autoimmune pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, entities that are frequently indistinguishable. DAtA SOURCES: An extensive search of the PubMed database was performed with emphasis on articles about the differential diagnosis between autoimmune pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer up to the present. RESULtS: the most interesting outcome of recent research is the theory that autoimmune pancreatitis and its various extra-pancreatic manifestations represent a systemic fibro inflammatory process called IgG4-related systemic disease the diagnostic criteria proposed by the Japanese Pancreatic Society, the more expanded HISORt criteria, the new definitions of histological types, and the new guidelines of the International Association of Pancreatology help to establish the diagnosis of the disease types. CONCLUSION: the valuable help of the proposed criteria for the differential diagnosis between autoimmune pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer may lead to avoidance of pointless surgical treatments and increased patient morbidity.

In this research work,three different reinforcements of Carbon Nano tubes(in weight%)such as 2%,3%and 4%were added to the magnesium AZ91D grade magnesium alloy to fabricate the Nanocomposites through stir casting *** effects of volume percentage on the mechanical,metallurgical and wear behavior were *** composites with 4%reinforcement show high hardness while the composites with 3%reinforcement show better tensile and yield strength and also an improved wear resistance compared to ***,the characterization of the Nanocomposites were made using Optical Microscopy,Scanning Electron Microscopy,Finite Element-Scanning Electron Microscopy and transmission Electron Microscopy to understand its nature.

We propose a framework for the coordination of a network of robots with respect to formal requirement specifications expressed in temporal logics.A regular tessellation is used to partition the space of interest into a union of disjoint regular and equal cells with finite facets,and each cell can only be occupied by a robot or an *** robot is assumed to be equipped with a finite collection of continuous-time nonlinear closed-loop dynamics to be operated *** robot is then modeled as a hybrid automaton for capturing the finitely many modes of operation for either staying within the current cell or reaching an adjacent cell through the corresponding *** taking the motion capabilities into account,a bisimilar discrete abstraction of the hybrid automaton can be *** the two systems bisimilar,all properties that are expressible in temporal logics such as Linear-time temporal Logic,Computation tree Logic,and μ -calculus can be *** planning can then be performed at a discrete level by considering the parallel composition of discrete abstractions of the robots with a requirement specification given in a suitable temporal *** bisimilarity ensures that the discrete planning solutions are executable by the *** demonstration purpose,a finite automaton is used as the abstraction and the requirement specification is expressed in Computation tree *** model checker Cadence SMV is used to generate coordinated verified motion planning *** autonomous aerial robots are used to demonstrate how the proposed framework may be applied to solve coordinated motion planning problems.

tract>Aim: to investigate the level of malondialdehyde (MDA), a direct indicator of lipid peroxidation-induced injury by reactive oxygen species (ROS), in testicular biopsy specimens from infertile patients. Methods: Levels of MDA were measured in testicular biopsy specimens from 29 consequent-randomized infertile men, aged 29.58±4.76 (21-45) years. All patients were evaluated by a complete medical and reproductive history, physical examination, semen analysis (at least two), serum follicle-stimulating hormone and free testosterone levels, testicular biopsy and contact imprint. Scrotal colour Doppler ultrasonography was used to confirm suspected varicocele. the testicular MDA level was measured using the thiobarbituric acid test and the results were expressed per unit tissue weight. Results: As a causal factor in infertility, varicocele was identified in 17 (58.6 %) patients, and idiopathic infertility, testicular failure and obstruction in 4 (13.8 %) patients each. the testicular MDA level was 13.56 (6.01), 49.56 (24.04), 58.53 (48.07), and 32.64 (21.51), 32.72 (13.61), 23.07 (7.82), 42,12 (34.76) pmol/mg tissue in the normal spermatogenesis (control), late maturation arrest, Sertoli cell only (SCO) and hypospermatogenesis (mild, moderete, severe) groups, respectively. the elevation of MDA levels was significant in the testicular tissue from SCO and maturation arrest groups compared with the controls (Ption, the elevation in testicular MDA levels between the SCO and the moderete hypospermatogenesis, and the moderate hypospermatogenesis and the maturation arrest groups was significant (Pthologic changes in the testicular tissue are associated with a high level of lipid peroxidation. these findings suggest that overproduction of ROS may play a role in the mechanism of testicular degeneration associated with infertility.

Microscopic imaging of the brain continues to reveal details of its structure, connectivity, and function. to further improve our understanding of the emergent properties and functions of neural circuits, we need to directly visualize the relationship between brain structure, neuron activity, and neurochemistry. Advances in the chemical and optical properties of nanomaterials, and developments in deep-tissue microscopy, may help to overcome the current challenges of in-vivo brain imaging, particularly when imaging the brain through optically-dense brain tissue, skull, and scalp. Developments in nanomaterials may enable the implementation of tunable chemical functionality for neurochemical targeting and sensing, and fluorescence stability for long-term imaging. In this review, we summarize the current methods used for brain microscopy and describe the diverse classes of nanomaterials recently offered as contrast agents and functional probes for microscopic optical imaging of the brain.

Full factorial design was used to evaluate the two-body abrasive resistance of 3wt%C–4wt%Mn–1.5wt%Ni spheroidal carbide cast irons with varying vanadium（5.0wt%–10.0wt%） and chromium（up to 9.0wt%） contents. the alloys were quenched at 920℃. the regression equation of wear rate as a function of V and Cr contents was proposed. this regression equation shows that the wear rate decreases with increasing V content because of the growth of spheroidal VC carbide amount. Cr influences the overall response in a complex manner both by reducing the wear rate owing to eutectic carbides（M7C3） and by increasing the wear rate though stabilizing austenite to deformation-induced martensite transformation. this transformation is recognized as an important factor in increasing the abrasive response of the alloys. By analyzing the regression equation, the optimal content ranges are found to be 7.5wt%–10.0wt% for V and 2.5wt%–4.5wt% for Cr, which corresponds to the alloys containing 9vol%–15vol% spheroidal VC carbides, 8vol%–16vol% M7C3, and a metastable austenite/martensite matrix. the wear resistance is 1.9–2.3 times that of the traditional 12wt% V–13wt% Mn spheroidal carbide cast iron.

Folded patch antennas were investigated for the development of low-cost and wireless smart-skin sensors that monitor the strain in metallic *** the patch antenna is under strain/deformation,its resonance frequency varies *** variation can be easily interrogated and recorded by a wireless *** patch antenna adopts a specially chosen substrate material with low dielectric attenuation,as well as an inexpensive off-the-shelf radiofrequency identification(RFID)chip for signal *** the RFID chip harvests electromagnetic power from the interrogation signal emitted by the reader,the patch antenna itself does not require other(internal)power sources and,thus,serves as a battery-less(passive)and wireless strain *** this preliminary investigation,a prototype folded patch antenna has been designed and *** testing results show strong linearity between the interrogated resonance frequency and the strain experienced by the *** experiments,the strain sensing resolution is demonstrated to be under 50με,and the wireless interrogation distance is shown to be over a few feet for this preliminary prototype.

Linusorbs(LOs),particularly the Methionine(Met)-containing yet tryptophan(trp)-free LO(CLB and CLP),play a significant role in shaping the quality and sensory attributes of flaxseed *** investigate the stability of these LOs and their oxidized forms during accelerated oxidation,the polar fractions of crude flaxseed oil were selectively removed using silica absorption and then reintroduced separately into the oil matrix along with LOs andγ-tocopherol(γ-t).through comprehensive analysis of oxidative stability indexes,LOs content changes,oxidation kinetics,and the correlation between LOs and oxidative stability indexes,we observed that the LOs fraction alone exhibited a moderate antioxidant effect on the peroxide value(PV)but a weaker effect on the panisidine value(p-AV)of flaxseed ***,upon addition ofγ-t,we observed a weak synergistic effect betweenγ-t and LOs in suppressing PV,while a stronger effect in suppressing ***,a comparison of the oxidation kinetics of different LOs indicated thatγ-t preferentially protected the oxidation of CLP over *** protective trends ofγ-t towards the methionine sulfoxide(MetO)and methionine sulfoxide(MetO2)form of LOs were also observed,albeit to a lesser *** analysis revealed that changes in Metcontaining LOs,particularly CLP,showed a high correlation with PV in the tested matrices,while MetOcontaining LOs better depicted changes in ***,CLP demonstrated higher susceptibility to the influence of antioxidants,making it more suitable for evaluating the peroxide value in flaxseed oil samples.
