the superτ-charm facility(StCF)is an electron–positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics *** is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 GeV with a peak luminosity of 0.5×10^(35) cm^(–2)·s^(–1) or *** StCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that of the presentτ-charm factory—the BEPCII,providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter(charge-parity violation),in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions,as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the Standard *** StCF project in China is under development with an extensive R&D *** document presents the physics opportunities at the StCF,describes conceptual designs of the StCF detector system,and discusses future plans for detector R&D and physics case studies.

Introduction: Malnutrition is a pathological state resulting from the relative deficiency or excess of one or more essential nutrients, whether manifested clinically or detected only by biochemical, anthropometric or physiological analyses. the overall objective was to assess the quality of management of acute malnutrition in children aged 0 - 24 months at the Boulbinet health center. Methodology: this was a prospective descriptive study lasting six (06) months from May 5 to October 5, 2018. the study included all children aged 0 to 24 months. Results: Acute malnutrition in children aged 0 - 24 months accounted for 2.11% of cases. the sex ratio was 1.41 in favor of males. the mean age of our patients was 5 months 7 days, with extremes of 1 month and 6 months. the majority came from Ra toma (40.24%). Exclusive breastfeeding was most common (54.02%). the main clinical signs were: pallor 49.42%, diarrhea 46.67, oral lesions37.96%. SAM represented 89.66% and MAM 10.34%. Most associated pathologies: anemia 49.42% and oral candidiasis 37.93%. In terms of outcome, we recorded 56.32% cures, 20.69% deaths, 18.39% dropouts and 4.60% cures. Conclusion: Improving the quality of care for malnourished children aged 0 - 24 months requires raising awareness among mothers and the general public of the consequences of malnutrition.

the antiretroviral treatment (ARt) has significantly reduced the number of new hIV/AIDS infections and related deaths. however, cases of immunovirological discordance (IVD) are found in various locations. the objective of this study was to determine the profile of People living with hIV (PLhIV) with IVD and to identify associated factors. We conducted a cross-sectional study based on the records of PLhIV under ARt for at least 6 months, followed at hpital de Jour Donka from 2015 to 2017, and having both viral load (CV) and CD4 t-cell count. Prevalence of IVD was 34.57%, with 23.87% for immunological discordance (ID) and 10.7% for virological discordance (VD). Females were predominant (66.26%), and male gender influenced IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.006) and was associated with VD (p = 0.007). the average age was 38.77 11.30 years. PLhIV were classified at WhO stages 3 and 4 (86.01%). the median initial haemoglobin level was 11.5 g/L [3.2 - 12]. the mean initial CD4 t-cell count was 272.84 cells/mm3 201.6. the median initial viral load (VL) was 147,337 copies/mL [1092 - 31,675,000]. the initial CD4 t-cell count 3 was associated with IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.0009) and correlated with ID (p = 0.000). Prurigo was associated with IVD with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.003). Cerebral toxoplasmosis was not associated with IVD but was associated with ID (p = 0.04). this study allowed us to describe the profile of PLhIV with IVD. the main associated factors were male gender, initial CD4 t-cell count 3, toxoplasmosis, prurigo, and herpes zoster.

the aim of this study was to test the antimicrobial properties of dental cements modified with magnesium oxide(MgO)***-modified MgO nanoparticles(zMgO)in concentrations(0.0,0.3,0.5,and 1.0%)were mixed with dental cements(Fuji II,Rely X temp E,Ionoglass Cem,Es temp NE,and System P link).Eight discs were fabricated from each zMgO-cement pair for a total of 32 specimens for each *** of the dental cements incorporating zMgO was done by X-ray Diffraction(XRD)and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy(FESEM).the antimicrobial properties of the mixtures were tested using direct contact and agar diffusion assays against Streptococcus mutans,Staphylococcus aureus,Enterococcus faecalis,and Candida *** was analyzed using two-way analysis of variance and LSD post hoc test at 0.05 significance *** spectra showed sharp peaks of zMgO indicating its high crystalline nature,while the amorphous dental cements with zMgO had broad *** analysis showed a uniform distribution of the zMgO nanoparticles in the *** were significant inhibition zone values associated with all concentrations of zMgO-cement mixtures tested compared to controls(pth a dose-response recorded only with Fuji *** density values were significantly lower in zMgO groups compared to controls for all *** effect was most prominent with Rely X against *** and *** cements containing zMgO showed significant antimicrobial properties that were dependent on the specific initial cement substrate.

Pearl millet(Pennisetum glaucum)is one of the major millets with high nutritional *** crop exhibits exceptional resilience to drought and high ***,the processing of pearl millet poses a significant challenge due to its high lipid content,enzyme activity,and presence of ***,it becomes imperative to enhance the quality and prolong the shelf life of pearl millet flour by employing suitable *** treatment in the food industry has long been seen as promising due to its potential to reduce microbial load,inactivate enzymes,and improve nutrient *** study aims to investigate the effects of hydrothermal treatment on the quality characteristics of pearl *** independent variables of the study were soaking temperature(35,45,55℃),soaking time(2,3,4 h),and steaming time(5,10,15 min).treatment conditions had a statistically significant effect on nutrient *** antinutrients like tannins and phytates were reduced by 0.99% to 5.94% and 0.36% to 6.00%,respectively,after the *** activity decreased significantly up to 10% with the treatment *** findings of this study could potentially encourage the use of pearl millet flour in the production of various food items and promote the application of hydrothermal treatment in the field of food processing.

Biochemical Liver Functions and Molecular Identification of Fasciola hepatica from Experimentally Infected Rat Model

the current study was performed to evaluate the liver function status as well as molecular characterization of the recovered worms in rats experimentally infected with F. hepatica. Sixteen male Wister rats aged 30 days were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 8). the first group was infected orally with 15 viable encysted metacercaria of F. hepatica per animal. the other group was kept non-infected (control group). At zero time (before infection), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-infection (WPI), blood and serum samples were collected via puncture of retro-orbital plexus of veins from each rat. Serum enzyme level (ASt and ALt) and total protein were measured, and the serum protein profile was carried out using agarose gel electrophoresis. During the period of the experiment, serum ALt and ASt activities and serum total globulins significantly increased while serum total proteins and albumin markedly decreased in the infected group. On the 14th WPI, the data of the electropherogram showed that globulin fractions (α1-, β- and γ-globulin) levels were significantly increased while α2-globulin was markedly decreased in the infected group. the molecular analysis confirmed the amplification of the ItS1, ItS2 and NDI genes of F. hepatica recovered from the infected liver of rats with amplicon sizes of 630, 510 and 560 bp, respectively. Sequencing of the amplified ItS gene resulted in the determination of 3 strains (PP108836, PP108837, and PP108838). Also, analysis of the ItS2 gene resulted in obtaining 3 isolates under the accession numbers (PP109065, PP109066, and PP109067). In conclusion, fasciolosis in the rat model is suitable for routine experimental infections and caused a pronounced liver dysfunction with discharging of the Fasciola eggs in the faeces and the development of adult stages in the bile ducts. Objective: the chemo-preventative and therapeutic properties of selenium nanoparticles(Se NPs) have been documented over recent decades and suggest the potential uses of Se NPs in medicine. Biogenic Se NPs have higher biocompatibility and stability than chemically synthesized nanoparticles, which enhances their medical applications, especially in the field of cancer therapy. this study evaluated the potential of green-synthetized Se NPs by using berberine(Ber) as an antitumor agent and elucidated the mechanism by which these molecules combat Ehrlich solid tumors(ESts).Methods: Se NPs containing Ber(Se NPs-Ber) were synthesized using Ber and Na2 Se O3 and characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Sixty male Swiss albino mice were then acclimatized for one week, injected with Ehrlich ascites tumor cells, and divided into four groups: ESt, ESt + cisplatin(5 mg/kg), ESt + Ber(20 mg/kg), and ESt + Se NPs-Ber(0.5 mg/kg). At the end of a 16-day observation period, 12 mice from each group were euthanized to analyze differences in the body weight, tumor size,gene expression, and oxidative stress markers in the four groups. three mice from each group were kept alive to compare the survival ***: treatment with Se NPs-Ber significantly improved the survival rate and decreased the body weight and tumor size, compared to the ESt group. Se NPs-Ber reduced oxidative stress in tumor tissue,as indicated by a decrease in the lipid peroxidation and nitric oxide levels and an increase in the glutathione levels. Moreover, Se NPs-Ber activated an apoptotic cascade in the tumor cells by downregulating the B-cell lymphoma 2(Bcl-2) expression rate and upregulating the Bcl-2-associated X protein and caspase-3 expression rates. 文章利用科学结构图谱分析方法首次绘制了创新科学结构图谱,以被专利引用的基本科学指标数据库(ESI)高被引论文为数据基础,揭示了世界前沿基础研究对技术创新发展的影响情况;发现其中对技术创新发展起到推动作用的热点方向,并对比中美两国在这些热点方向上的表现,为科学决策提供有效的数据支撑。分析发现:被专利引用较高的论文主要集中在新生物技术与生物医疗技术、新兴信息技术、能源与材料这些可能引发颠覆性技术创新的基础研究领域;中国被专利引用的高被引论文增势明显,5年累计增长超过60%,但数量还是不到美国的50%;中国在不少与技术创新关联紧密的热点研究方向中的论文数量高于美国,但被专利引用的论文数量却通常低于美国;美国影响技术创新的基础研究内容更多的是引领产业变革方面的研发活动,并且有大量企业参与。

Research Background: the high prevalence of diabetes in Sudan, estimated at 16%, highlights the importance of effective health education in diabetes management. Diabetes self-management education has been identified as a crucial tool in enhancing the knowledge, attitudes, and abilities necessary for self-management among individuals with diabetes. Aim: to assess the impact of diabetes self-management education on medication adherence and glycemic control in Sudanese adults with type 2 diabetes before and 3 months after the DSME intervention. Method: the study was conducted in Sudan between September 2022 and March 2023, it was an interventional, one-group, pre- and post-test study that aimed to assess the impact of diabetes self-management education (DSME) on medication adherence and diabetes control in Sudanese adults with type 2 diabetes. the research was conducted in primary health care centers in six cities in Sudan and involved 244 participants. the data entry and statistical analysis were conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 27.0. A paired t test was used for analysis. Results: the study included 244 participants, 67% of whom were males. the age mean ± SD was 48.6 ± 9.3 years, and 85.3% of participants were married. Age at onset of diabetes mean ± SD was 40.60 ± 7.81 years;44.6% had diabetes for less than 5 years;and 84.1% had a positive family history of diabetes mellitus. the levels of poor, low, and partial adherence to medication decreased by 8.2%, 4%, and 20.6%, respectively, after the intervention. the levels of good and high medication regime adherence increased by 13% and 19.8%, respectively;BMI decreased by 1.1 ± 0.73 kg/m2 (p = 0.005). the fasting blood sugar decreased by 69 ± 32.9 mg/dl (p = 0.049), and the glycated hemoglobin decreased by 1.21 ± 0.28% (p = 0.001). Conclusions: the findings of this study reinforce the importance of patient education in improving glycemic control and enhancing self-management
