Integration of Machining and Measuring Processes Using On-Machine Measurement technology

this paper presents an integration methodology for ma chining and measuring processes using OMM (On-Machine Measurement) technology b ased on CAD/CAM/CAI integration concept. OMM uses a CNC machining center as a me asuring station by changing the tools into measuring probes such as touch-type, laser and vision. Although the measurement accuracy is not good compared to tha t of the CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), there are distinctive advantages us ing OMM in real situation. In this paper, two topics are handled to show the eff ectiveness of the machining and measuring process integration: (1) inspection pl anning strategy for sculptured surface machining and (2) tool path compensation for profile milling process. For the first topic, as a first step, effective mea suring point locations are determined to obtain optimum results for given sampli ng numbers. two measuring point selection methods are suggested based on the CAD /CAM/CAI integration concept: (1) by the prediction of cutting errors and (2) by considering cutter contact points to avoid the measurement errors caused by cus ps. As a next step, the tSP (traveling Salesman Problem) algorithm is applied to minimize the probe moving distance. Appropriate simulations and experiments are performed to verify the proposed inspection planning strategy, and the results are analyzed. For the second topic, a methodology for profile milling error comp ensation is presented by using an ANN (Artificial Neural Network) model trained by the inspection database of OMM system. the low-temperature physical vapor deposition process of atomically thin two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide(2D tMD) has been gaining attention owing to the cost-effective production of diverse electrochemical catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) applications. We, herein, propose a simple route toward the cost-effective physical vapor deposition process of 2D WSe2 layered nanofilms as HER electrochemical catalysts using RF magnetron sputtering at room temperature(trolling the variable sputtering parameters, such as RF power and deposition time, the loading amount and electrochemical surface area(ECSA) of WSe2 films deposited on carbon paper can be carefully determined. the surface of the sputtered WSe2 films are partially oxidized, which may cause spherical-shaped particles. Regardless of the loading amount of WSe2, tafel slopes of WSe2 electrodes in the HER test are narrowly distributed to be ~120–138 mV dec-1, which indicates the excellent reproducibility of intrinsic catalytic activity. By considering the trade-off between the loading amount and ECSA, the best HER performance is clearly observed in the 200 W-15 min sample with an overpotential of 220 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2. Such a simple sputtering method at low temperature can be easily expanded to other 2D tMD electrochemical catalysts, promising potentially practical electrocatalysts.

Effector B cells are central contributors to the development of autoimmune disease by activating autoreactive t cells,producing pro-inflammatory cytokines and organizing ectopic lymphoid ***,IL-10-producing regulatory B(Breg)cells have pivotal roles in maintaining immunological tolerance and restraining excessive inflammation in autoinflammatory ***,regulating the equilibrium between antibody-producing effector B cells and Breg cells is critical for the treatment of autoimmune *** this study,we investigated the effect of human palatine tonsil-derived mesenchymal stem cells(t-MSCs)on estradiol(E2)-induced B-cell responses in vivo and in *** of t-MSC into E2-treated mice alleviated B-cell-mediated immune responses and increased the population of IL-10-producing Breg cells.t-MSCs regulated the B-cell populations by producing Epstein–Barr virus(EBV)-induced 3(EBI3),one of the two subunits of IL-35 that is the well-known inducer of Breg *** demonstrate a critical role of EBI3(IL-35)in vitro by depleting EBI3 in t-MSCs and by adding exogenous IL-35 to the culture *** together,our data suggest that IL-35-secreting MSCs may become an attractive therapeutic to treat B-cell-mediated autoimmune diseases via expanding Breg cells.

Zircon U–Pb geochronology and Hf isotope geochemistry of magmatic and metamorphic rocks from the Hida Belt, southwest Japan

Zircon U–Pb and Hf isotope data integrated in this study for magmatic and metamorphic rocks fromthe Hida Belt,southwest Japan,lead to a new understanding of the evolution of the Cordilleran arc system along the ancestral margins of present-day Northeast *** microprobe data for magmatic zircon domains from eight mafic tointermediate orthogneisses in the tateyama and tsunogawa areas yielded weighted mean 206Pb/238U ages spanning the entire Permian period(302–254 Ma).Under cathodoluminescence,primary magmatic growth zones in the zircon crystals were observed to be partially or completely replaced by inward-penetrating,irregularly curved featureless or weakly zoned secondary domains that mostly yielded U–Pb ages of 250–240 Ma and relatively high th/U ratios(>0.2).these secondary domains are considered to have been formed by solid-state recrystallization during thermal overprints associated with intrusions of Hida *** whole-rock geochemical and Sr–Nd isotope data as well as zircon age spectra corroborate that the Hida Belt comprises the Paleozoic–Mesozoic Cordilleran arc system built upon the margin of the North China Craton,together with the YeongnamMassif in southern *** arcmagmatismalong this systemwas commenced in the Carboniferous and culminated in the Permian–triassic transition *** positiveεHf(t)values(>+12)of late Carboniferous to early Permian detrital zircons in the Hida paragneisses indicate that there was significant input from the depleted asthenospheric mantle and/or its crustal derivatives in the early stage of arc *** the other hand,near-chondriticεHf(t)values(+5 to−2)of magmatic zircons from late Permian Hida orthogneisses suggest a lithospheric mantle *** isotopic differences between magmatic zircon cores and the secondary rims observed in some orthogneiss samples clearly indicate that the zircons were chemically open to fluids or melts during thermal *** highly positive zirconεHf(t)val

Effect of temperature on the Molecular Weight Distribution in the Different Ranks of Coal during the On-Line Investigation of Coal Pyrolysis Gas Using Direct Photoionization Mass Spectroscopy

Coal pyrolysis gas from different ranks of coal was monitored on real time basis using photoionization mass spectroscopy. the molecular weight distribution of different products as a function of temperature from various coal ranks studied was observed. It was noted that the release of different classes of compounds like phenols, alkenes, alkylated aromatics and aromatic skeletons was temperature dependent. For all the coal ranks at lower temperatures phenols were the main component, with alkenes and alkylated aromatics at slight higher temperatures and aromatic skeletons were released at the highest temperatures studied.

Prediction of effluent concentration in a wastewater treatment plant using machine learning models

Of growing amount of food waste, the integrated food waste and waste water treatment was regarded as one of the efficient modeling method. However, the load of food waste to the conventional waste treatment process might lead to the high concentration of total nitrogen（t-N） impact on the effluent water quality. the objective of this study is to establish two machine learning models-artificial neural networks（ANNs） and support vector machines（SVMs）, in order to predict 1-day interval t-N concentration of effluent from a wastewater treatment plant in Ulsan, Korea. Daily water quality data and meteorological data were used and the performance of both models was evaluated in terms of the coefficient of determination（R^2）, Nash-Sutcliff efficiency（NSE）, relative efficiency criteria（d rel）. Additionally, Latin-Hypercube one-factor-at-a-time（LH-OAt） and a pattern search algorithm were applied to sensitivity analysis and model parameter optimization, respectively. Results showed that both models could be effectively applied to the 1-day interval prediction of t-N concentration of effluent. SVM model showed a higher prediction accuracy in the training stage and similar result in the validation ***, the sensitivity analysis demonstrated that the ANN model was a superior model for 1-day interval t-N concentration prediction in terms of the cause-and-effect relationship between t-N concentration and modeling input values to integrated food waste and waste water treatment. this study suggested the efficient and robust nonlinear time-series modeling method for an early prediction of the water quality of integrated food waste and waste water treatment process.

Vanishing bile duct syndrome in Hodgkin's lymphoma: A case report and literature review

Vanishing bile duct syndrome(VBDS) has been described in different pathologic conditions including infection, ischemia, adverse drug reactions, autoimmune diseases, allograft rejection, and humoral factors associated with malignancy. It is an acquired condition characterized by progressive destruction and loss of the intra-hepatic bile ducts leading to cholestasis. Prognosis is variable and partially dependent upon the etiology of bile duct injury. Irreversible bile duct loss leads to significant ductopenia, biliary cirrhosis, liver failure, and death. If biliary epithelial regeneration occurs, clinical recovery may occur over a period of months to years. VBDS has been described in a number of cases of patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma(HL) where it is thought to be a paraneoplastic phenomenon. this case describes a 25-year-old man found on liver biopsy to have VBDS. Given poor response to medical treatment, the patient underwent transplant evaluation at that time and was found to have classical stage ⅡB HL. Early recognition of this underlying cause or association of VBDS, including laboratory screening, and physical exam for lymphadenopathy are paramount to identifying potential underlying VBDS-associated malignancy. Here we review the literature of HL-associated VBDS and report a case of diagnosed HL with biopsy proven VBDS.
