BACKGROUND: Life-threatening emergencies can occur at anytime, at anywhere and in anyone. Effective management of an emergency situation in the dental office is ultimately the dentist's responsibility. the lack of training and inability to cope with medical emergencies can lead to tragic consequences and sometimes legal complications. therefore, health professionals including dentists must be well prepared to deal with medical emergencies. this study was undertaken to assess the knowledge about and attitude towards basic life support(BLS) among dental interns and postgraduate students in Bangalore city, ***: A cross sectional survey was conducted among dental interns and postgraduate students from May 2014 to June 2014 since few studies have been conducted in Bangalore city. A questionnaire with 17 questions regarding the knowledge about and attitude towards BLS was distributed to 202 study ***: the data analyzed using the Chi-square test showed that dental interns and postgraduate students had average knowledge about BLS. In the 201 participants, 121(59.9%) had a positive attitude and 81(40.1%) had a negative attitude towards ***: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation should be considered as part of the dental curriculum. Workshops on a regular basis should be focused on skills of cardiopulmonary resuscitation for dental students.

Bemisia tabaci adults from various host-plant species were collected from 31 regions across India.266 *** samples were first screened by RAPD-PCR to examine molecular variability and to select individuals with different ***-plant and region of collection were then used to select 25 individuals for PCR amplification and sequencing of their partial mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit one（mtCOI）*** comparisons with mtCOI consensus sequences showed that the majority of these samples had 〈3.5% sequence divergence from groups currently termed Asia I,Asia II-5,Asia II-7,and Asia *** biotype-B *** from India clustered into the Middle East-Asia Minor 1 group.A new group of *** from Coimbatore,collected from pumpkin,was related most closely to the Asia I group（6.2% sequence divergence from the consensus Asia I sequence）.to increase our understanding of the epidemiology of tomato leaf curl disease（toLCD）and the key *** genetic groups involved in virus spread,the indigenous Asia I and the exotic biotype-B population from South India were used to carry out transmission experiments using tomato leaf curl Bangalore virus（toLCBV）.the acquisition access periods（AAP）,inoculation access periods（IAP）,latent periods（LP）,and toLCBV transmission efficiencies of the two populations were compared and the biotype-B had the more efficient transmission *** results are discussed in relation to recent changes in the epidemiology of tomato leaf curl disease in South India.

In this paper, an integrated model based on Finite Element Method (FEM) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) has been presented for the runoff simulation of small watersheds. Interception is estimated by an exponential model based on Leaf Area Index (LAI). Philip two term model has been used for the estima-tion of infiltration in the watershed. For runoff estimation, diffusion wave equations solved by FEM are used. Interflow has been simulated using FEM based model. the developed integrated model has been applied to Peacheater Creek watershed in USA. Sensitivity analysis of the model has been carried out for various pa-rameters. From the results, it is seen that the model is able to simulate the hydrographs with reasonable ac-curacy. the presented model is useful for runoff estimation in small watersheds.

Objective:to evaluate in ritro antimicrobial activities of selected 58 ethno-medicinal plant extracts with a view to assess their therapeutic ***:A total of 58 traditional Chinese medicinal plants were carefully selected based on the literature review and their traditional *** antimicrobial activities of ethanol extracts of these medicinal plants were tested against fungi(Aspergillus funigaius),yeast(Candida albicans),gram-negative(Acirelobacter haumannii and Pseudornnruis aeruginosa)and gram-positive bacteria(Staphglococcus aureus).the activities were tested at three different concentrations of 1.00,0.10 and 0.01 mg/*** data was analysed using Gene data Screener ***:the measured antimicrobial activities indicated that out of the 58 plant extracts,15 extracts showed anti-fungal activity and 23 extracts exhibited anti-bacterial *** plant extracts have exhibited both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal *** instance,Eucommia ulmoides,Pohgonum cuspidcrtum,Poria cocas and Uncaria rhineophylla showed activity against both bacterial and fungal strains,indicating their broad spectrum of ***:the results revealed that the ethanol extracts of 30 plants out of the selected 58 possess significant antimicrobial *** is interesting to note that the findings from the current study are consistent with the traditional use.A clear correlation has also been found between the antimicrobial activity and the flavonoid content of the plant extracts which is in agreement with the *** results presented here can be used to guide the selection of potential plant species for the isolation and structure elucidation of novel antimicrobial compounds in order to establish the structure-activity *** in turn is expected to lead the way to the discovery of novel antimicrobial agents for therapeutic use.

Stochastic Modelling and Geological Aspects of a Gold Mineralisation

Gold mineralisation is the result of physico-chemical and thermal processes of the earth’s interior. We may view a geological process of gold mineralization as a stochastic process Z(x):x∈D, where D may be considered as a mineral deposit. In the case of gold mineralization, samples drawn at regular intervals may be considered as following a discrete stochastic process. the point of interest is one of realistic estimation of mineral value property as computations based on classical methods leading to erroneous results. Modern methods based on stochastic modelling treating the process as an 1) Auto-regressive (AR), 2) Moving-average (MA) or a combination of these two viz., 3) ARMA of appropriate order k may lead to more realistic results. Yet another class of methods which consider the geometry of samples in termed as theory of Regionalised Variables. this paper analyses these classes of methods and illustrates a case study of a gold mineralization related to Strike Reef (Footwall branch) of Hutti gold mines.

Innovation systems principles are increasingly applied for putting agricultural research into use. this paper presents and analyses three such initiatives located in South Asia, with an aim to generate empirical evidence about practical aspects of the innovation process. these cases seem to suggest that the initial stages of innovation trajectory comprise of social engineering and creation of appropriate architecture of actors, after which need for new knowledge arises and favourable conditions develop for putting such knowledge into use. the cases also present how different types of agencies assume lead roles during different stages of innovation trajectory. the paper urges authorities from policy and practice to consider status of social architecture and the fact that different types of agencies play lead role in the innovation process before planning agricultural innovation initiatives.

the electrical transport behavior and magnetoresistance (MR) of a polycrystalline double layered manganite La1.2Sr1.4Ba0.4Mn2O7, synthesized by the sol-gel method, are investigated in the temperature range 4.2 K - 300 K. the sample exhibits an insulator-to-metal transition at 87 K (tIM) and the spin-glass (SG)-like behavior is observed below 50 K (tSG). the transport behavior is analyzed in the entire temperature range considering three different regions: paramagnetic insulating region (t>tIM), ferromagnetic metallic region (tSG IM) and antiferromagnetic insulating region (tSG) by fitting the temperature dependent resistivity data to the equations governing the conduction process in the respective temperature regions. the results show that the conduction at t>tIM follows Mott variable range hopping (VRH) process, while the two-magnon scattering process is evidenced at tSG IM which is suppressed with the applied magnetic field of 4 t. the low temperature conductivity data are also fitted with Mott VRH equation. the sample exhibits a large MR (≈45%) over a temperature range???? 5 K – 50 K and it shows ≈32% MR at 5 K with a magnetic field of 0.5 t.

the early Archean oceans were marked by significant redox changes which have subsequently shaped the Earth’s *** chemical sediments of banded Iron and Manganese formations provide important geochemical proxies for these historical shifts in the redox conditions and to trace the ancient sedimentation patterns and *** this study,we investigate the proto-ore of the Archean Mn-formations of the Sandur,Chitradurga and Shimoga greenstone belts of Dharwar Craton of southern Peninsular India,which is geochemically characterised as quartz arenites,Mn-arenites,Fe-arenites,Mn-argillites and *** geochemical systematics suggest their deposition in shallow to deeper shelf in the Archean *** detrital zircon U-Pb systematics of Mn arenites and argillites indicate their maximum depositional age of 3230±52 Ma representing the oldest onset of sedimentation during the Paleo-Mesoarchean timeframe in the Chitradurga Group of Dharwar *** detrital influx proxies suggest variations in sedimentation rates associated with the Archean transgressive-regressive cycles and fluctuating hydrodynamic conditions,together reflecting an increasing trend in the contributions of recycled sediment from Sandur to Chitradurga and Shimoga greenstone *** available detrital zircon ages of the Mn arenites and argillites from these greenstone belts indicate a~600 Ma prolonged period of Mn deposition for which high-t hydrothermal fluids from Archean mid-oceanic ridges supplied the *** trace element compositions of the concordant detrital zircons suggest 3.3-3.1 Ga Dharwar basement ttG/granitoid source which is corroborated by the zircon crystallization temperatures of 690-820℃.the source-normalisedα-dose rates of the detrital zircons signify greater degrees of sediment transport and multi-cycle nature which correspond to the earliest episode of crustal growth in the Indian sub-continent associated with the Mesoarchean Ur supercontinent.t

Machine learning(ML)has emerged as a significant tool in the field of biorefinery,offering the capability to analyze and predict complex processes with *** article reviews the current state of biorefinery and its classification,highlighting various commercially successful ***,we delve into different categories of ML models,including their algorithms and applications in various stages of biorefinery lifecycle,such as biomass characterization,pretreatment,lignin valorization,chemical,thermochemical and biochemical conversion processes,supply chain analysis,and life cycle *** benefits and limitations of each of these algorithms are discussed in ***,the article concludes with a discussion of the limitations and future prospects of ML in the field of biorefineries.
