＜正＞In oder to clarify the mechanism of motor dysfunction after low anterior resection （LAR）, we evaluated colonic transit time by means of radiopaque markers. Markers were 20 radiopaque rings of 1mm×4.5mm which were enclosed within the gelatin capsule （sItZMARKs）. Numerous studies have demonstrated a relationship between the extracellular matrix protein BIGH3 and variations in the malignant properties of different cancer cell types, including osteosarcoma cells. BIGH3 protein can suppress and promote tumor growth, even on the same cancer cell type, indicating that contextual cues regulate BIGH3-mediated divergent outcomes. We employed a multicellular tumor spheroid model to study the effects of BIGH3 with respect to physical and molecular features of three-dimensional tumor growth. the results demonstrated that exogenous recombinant BIGH3 blocked the development of multicellular large tumor spheroids so that only small spheroids formed. the effect was dependent on the BIGH3 concentration in the growth medium and the time of incubation of BIGH3 with the osteosarcoma cells in the spheroid model. tGF-β1 signaling induced multicellular tumor spheroids to synthesize a greater quantity of BIGH3 relative to non-treated spheroids. the tGF-β1-mediated increase in BIGH3 protein antagonized the development of multicellular large spheroids. Anti-BIGH3 antibody, and an inhibitor of tGF-β1 signaling, blocked the antagonistic effect induced through tGF-β1 stimulation and BIGH3 protein expression, resulting in the formation of multicellular large spheroids. Immunohistochemistry detected BIGH3 at cell bodies within the spheroid stroma, suggesting osteosarcoma cell-surface proteins bind BIGH3. Flow cytometry demonstrates that osteosarcoma cells interact with soluble BIGH3, and solid-phase cell adhesion assays show that osteosarcoma adhesion to BIGH3 substratum is mediated by integrin α4β1. However, anti-α4 antibody did not attenuate the BIGH3-mediated antagonism toward formation of multicellular large spheroids. We conclude that tGFβ1 and BIGH3 suppress the development of large osteosarcoma tumors.

Evaluation of creep properties of the welded joint through taking local fluctuation of the mechanical properties into consideration is experimentally or analytically seldom carried out. the purposes of the present study are to examine the surface strain distribution in the weld metal of a full thickness welded joint specimen and subsequently to investigate the local variation in the properties of the all-weld metal part of the joint using miniature specimens. A welded joint was prepared for 316FR steel plates by gas tungsten arc welding process using Mod. 316L filler wire. Creep tests were conducted at 823K in air using full thickness large welded joint specimens, HAZ and all-weld metal miniature specimens. From the results obtained, it is concluded that the creep properties of multi-layer welded joints strongly depend on the location of specimen sampling.

Imaging studies with the Very Large Array（VLA） have revealed H I emission associated with the extended circumstellar shells of red giants. We analyze the spectral map obtained on Y CVn, a J-type carbon star on the Asymptotic Giant Branch. the H I line profiles can be interpreted with a model of a detached shell resulting from the interaction of a stellar outflow with the local interstellar *** reproduce the spectral map by introducing a distortion along a direction corresponding to the star＇s motion in space. We then use this fitting to simulate observations expected from the Five-hundred-meter Aperture spherical radio telescope（FAst）, and discuss its potential for improving our description of the outer regions of circumstellar shells.

Adenylyl cyclases (ACs) are a special group of enzymes that catalyze formation of the second messenger molecule, 3',5'-cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) from 5'-adenosine triphosphate (AtP). Apparently, even though cAMP is increasingly becoming an important signaling molecule in higher plants, the identification of plant ACs has somewhat remained slow. Here we report the recombinant cloning, partial expression and affinity purification of the truncated version (AtACsup>261-388sup>) of a putative Arabidopsis thaliana protein (AtAC: At3g21465) followed by a demonstration of its inherent enzymatic activity as an AC. Currently, AtAC is not assigned any particular function in A. thaliana but simply annotated as an AC-like protein and, therefore, we targeted it for our study to establish if it is indeed a bona fide AC molecule. From our work, we firstly, show through enzyme immunoassaying and mass spectrometry that the recombinant AtACsup>261-388sup>sub> sub>can generate cAMP from AtP in vitro in a manganese-dependent manner that is activated by calcium and hydrogen carbonate. secondly, we reveal through computational analysis that the AC center of AtAC is solvent-exposed, and amenable to the unhindered access of AtP as a substrate for catalysis. Lastly, we show that the recombinant AtACsup>261-388sup> can complement AC-deficiency (cyaA mutation) in sP850 cells when expressed in this mutant Escherichia coli strain.

A factorial experimental design method was used to examine the “Cu2+” removal from acid mine drainage wastewater by ion exchange technique. Ion Exchange technique is preferred because of reduced sludge generation compared to conventional treatment techniques and better decontamination efficiency from highly diluted solutions. Factorial design of experiments is employed to study the effect of four factors pH (3, 5, and 6), flow rate (5, 10, 15 L/hr), resin bed height (20, 40 and 60 cm) and initial concentration of the metal (100, 150 and 200 mgl-1) at three levels. the efficiency of metal removal was determined after 100 min of treatment. Main effects and interaction effects of the four factors were analyzed using statistical techniques. A regression model was recommended and it was found to fit the experimental data very well. the results were analyzed statistically using the student’s t-test, analysis of variance, F-test and lack of fit to define most important process variables affecting the percentage “Cu2+” removal. In this study , pH was thus found to be the most important variable.
